When I first heard about Spore, I was hoping it would be a more advanced version of this type of game. I was sorely disappointed.

There hasn't been a commercial game like this one that was better in over a decade.

I loved this game as a child. I didn't understand how to teach my Norn. Mainly I just pet them and made sure they tried to eat food.Now as an adult I finally get to mess around with all the fun complex stuff like the science kit and actually understand what I'm doing.

Oh man, nostalgia...

I played this around 6 years old also, I didn't really understand it but always seemed to make it past the first 'area'. The immense sadness that overtook me when a creature died is yet to be matched by any other video game. Forget about the Aeris scene in FF VII, that's nothing compared to this.

I have this and Creatures Playground somewhere. I used to play this all the time when I was like 4 or 5. That monster on the cover of the box scared the shit out of me when I ran into it in-game.

It's amusing how norns will be defiant and fight with you over the direction the lift is going. Perhaps a little frustrating, too...

i got this game before, when someone gave it to me. But i was a sensitive child and the grendels terrified me!! I gave it to my friend but I'm trying to get her to find it and give it back now :)

It's so depressing how people don't get this game. I played when I was 6 and my first norn that died did so of old age, 3 hours past the average life expectancy.

How hard can it be? teach them to speak with the teaching computer, then make sure they've got access to carrots. that's all really!
