Sucked that they sent him to the minors this year.I like him more than Mccarty.

Mike Babcock stated "McCarty is a better skater than Downey", but I would have taken Ville Leino over both of them, they were all competing for the last forwards spot. Leino got sent to minors after some INCREDIBLE games in the pre season. Leino is at about 2 pts a game in the AHL. I think Kopecky could have filled the enforcer spot if he really wanted to.

Leino is amazing, but Im really afraid of the lack of grit on the team if they were to bring him up to replace a tough guy. I think you need some more grit when it comes to the playoffs. The Red Wings are so deep this year that I consider injuries to mid/low level players a GOOD thing. By the way if Leino gets called up, does he have to pass waivers?
