Do/Did you use your MXL 990 with Pro Tools. Becuz i bought mine brand new from Amazon , i got the pro tools with the mixer and EVERYTHING is installed. But even when i plug the mic into the mixer, it doesnt work AT ALL. Do you know whats goin on?

@PocketsGotBigMoney If your speaker outputs are those 1/4 inch jobs designed for monitor speakers get two 1/4 to 1/8 inch adapters and two TRS to phono/RCA cables!Then run the TRS out to an stereo amp(Like For A HiFi) !Plug the phono cables into the amp !Like White into white,red into red on the "Aux or CD" channel on amp ! You might have to plug white to red or Vice Versa but I was stuck untill I came up with this solution as i didn`t have monitor speakers ! Hope that helps! Peace Ye`all !!

it sounds like youre getting latency!! it has nothing to do with your sample rate and changing your sample rate will not fix the latency problem. what you need is to download asio4all sound driver or use an external sound driver. that will fix your latency problem.

@lilmark172 It's got specialised inputs for studio condenser microphones aswell as other equipment. The line inputs will most likely be calibrated for +4dBu operation for a lower noise floor than standard soundcard inputs. Soundcards rarely have the correct inputs and/or compatible drivers (such as ASIO) for music production. Hope this helps.

@TTCbangbang with mine all i needed was the mbox n i plugged that using usb....and it worked...and it didnt ask me about a sound card with this one. But at times when i have used previous mics with programs it did require a sound card!..hope this helps

Sounds like you have latency problems on your keyboard unless theres a delay on your video. You should use ASIO drivers and shorten the buffer size. Mine is set at 4ms and there is no noticeable delay from when you press the keys and hear the sound. If that doesn't work then it's probably because your connected via usb. Midi cables would be the fastest option.

yes u do have to have protools installed for it to work on windows vista...anytime you working with protools you need m-box...and you have to make sure you have protools 7.4 or greater for it to work on vista...

Is it necessary to place the mic in an open space like what you have setup rather than put in inside like a closet or a more quieter section of the studio.
