@apoelthrilos100 ferarri is a team that failed tactic wise very much, either past seasons as in history(big exception at the time of schumacher ofc..he had the right guy behind him but the left together with him)
It was a fair penalty. The penalties are very inconsistently given, so for fans, it is difficult to gauge when the actually "degree" of the penalty is correct. But Hamilton captured undue advantage and then gave the position back according to his calculation - but the stewards felt he needed to return class and be schooled in calculation. You can't give back and be up the ass of the driver - this we learned from Schumi, remember? So all is fair. And you don't fuck with the King of Spa
@BourbonAnakin lol of course, but there was no such rule up until the week after this race, the rule is made up to justify stupid penalty... laws happens to apply forward... not backwards...here we see an undue advantage given to others to scrap of hamilton's well deserved and earned points!!! massa crashed hamilton in a similar corner, and got away with it, kimi went off the road several times in the race, got away with it, and yet there is no rule stating u have to wait until a week later...
i agree that the penalty against hamilton in spa last year was unfair. it was a dumb move for hamilton to try to pass at this spot on the track but i kinda understand he had a run and just took the chance. it makes good racing. kimi needed the race line here and butted hamilton out and he had no choice but to cut the chicane. he conceded the position but then the officials say hamilton still gained some advantage. i dont really like (or dislike) hamilton but this was not fair
Really? Is that ur expert unbiased opinion, lol? So you think its ok for Hamilton to be penalized for not using the racetrack, yet its also ok for kimi to use run-off areas alongside the track (on 3 seperate occasions).
Maybe, in ur sad desperation to see Hamilton penalized just for racing, you missed a small matter of Charlie Whiting (who's job it is to refer incidents to stewards) saying to Ron Dennis moments after the incident that Hamilton had followed the rules and the incident was clean!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think it was a violation, no matter what charlie said, thanks to that cut hamilton got into the position good enough for the attack. Otherwise he would have to back off in the chicane and fall behind. Despite that, I think depriving him of win was too harsh of a penalty
But that is a big contradiction, because Hamilton followed the rules that were in place at the time. All he was required to do was give the position back, which he did. And the argument that he should have backed off is a silly one that people only think should apply to Hamilton and not Kimi. Did Kimi back off when he was using run-offs alongside the track to gain speed and traction? Hamilton was penalized for not using the racetrack, yet Kimi did exactly the same on 3 seperate occasions.
yet Hamilton done that when the track was fine enough for dry tyres. When Raikkonen done that, it was raining and the dry tyres weren't working.
YES, he did give the position back BUT by how much? Lewis was getting too excited to get ahead. He could have hit Raikkonen in the back.
Although I am a Raikkonen fan, he did deserve a penalty but it was far too harsh. I think a 10 grid penalty at the next race would have been suitable and appropriate.
@KieranF1Kimi hamilton obbeyed the rules, and gave up his position, however his penalty was unfair and outlaw! until a week later where they made up a rule follow up on this to justify the stupid penalty ever!
@tobiasf1 What the hell are u talking about? IN football if a team plays better than the other, but loses, and u are a fan of the wining team, won´t you scream? The same here
Whoever cheers for a driver crashing should crash on the highway at a similar speed. I am happy when my favourite team/driver wins but I don't cheer when their opponents bang into the wall. Pathetic scums.
oh man!!! i was at this race too. on the straight after eau rouge. i saw the Raïkkonen crash but the car looked like a dot. its incredible what 4 laps of rain can do to a race.

Kimi shud have won easy he did all the hard work, if ferrari's arent shit in the rain he wud have breezed it!!! argh Hamilton is shit locks his wheels all tha time and always cuts the chicanes and misses the apex on most corners hes pure bolox. Kimi got fastest lap aswel, Hamilton was lucky and justice was done Massa winning da race!!! Go Ferrari
Bad place to sit, youve gotta be joking,he just witnessed the most contraversal moment in F1 since Hill/Schumacher in Aus 94.great vid.Lewis was robbed of a well deserved victory. But Karma balanced it out at Singapore
Excellent video, clearly shows Kimi going to block Hamilton as they go through the chicane. I think cutting the chicane was the only option for Lewis. He was so committed to overtaking it would have been hard for him to back off at the last moment and follow Kimi through chicane. I've seen bloggers saying how Hamilton shouldn't have tried to overtake like that. Of course he should try overtaking there, it's the best place on the circuit. He had to go on the outside as Kimi was on the inside
Great Video... I need to watch a F1 race on the track the sound is just amazing!.... Forza Ferrari! From now on is when Hamilton starts to get nervous.. at the end of the championship.. he needs more experience
An excellent home video, the FIA can't take this video down - F*KING BUNCH OF C**NTS ... THEY ARE SOOO DUMB TAKING DOWN F1 VIDEOS, THESE VIDEOS GIVE F1 ADVERTISMENT, WHY THE F*CK ARE YOU TAKING THEM DOWN YOU DUMB FOOLS
Lewis got penalised after the race. Based on the rules, I think that's fair. Just like Fernando did against Robert in 2010 for cutting chicane.

Actually Massa won that race because the race stewards decided that Hamilton cut the chicane.
An unfair penalty, imo.

As for it being a violation (in ur opinion) but in ur opinion you deem the opinion of the most senior FIA official in the race as irrelevant?
You can't possibly use subjective reasoning (if he'd backed off he wouldnt have been able to overtake) to justify a penalty.
Either Hamilton followed the rules, and was penalized unfairly, or he didn't follow the rules and was fairly penalized.
The sad fact is that Hamilton did follow the rules, thats why the FIA re-wrote them 1 week after Spa.
