as for the video about muslima women who wear jeans and headscraf those are hyppocryts for devoting muslims they are very strict in clothing (hijaab) etc so you may put some exmples on youtube but you and me both now they are not respresentives of all real muslim women . islam is perfect way of monotheism quran very knowledgable prooves itself and perfect legacy of ibrahim (puh) salam aleikom peace upun you all
There is two sides to the veiling of a woman from reading the bible, Isaac was deceived by Leah because she had a veil on when he thought he was marring Rachel, had the veil not covered her, would he have been deceived? In other ways the veil has its purpose given the land conditions. It shows a great respect for a woman to respect themselves in how they dress, Today veiling is abused by impostors even if it wasn't meant for that purpose
@MistyMarie1970 Traditionally according to the Talmud, the Noahide code is a set of moral imperatives that were given by G-d for All the Kids of Noach (Laws for all human beings) Veiling in ancient Jewish times was only done during wedding known as bedeken. You got the stories confused, it was Yaakov avinu who was deceived by Leah because of her father.
could you please tell me where the Noahite laws come from as there is no mention of laws in the writings regarding Noah, after the flood is is mentioned as ALL of us being descendants of Noah through his sons, so who were the gentiles Noah created this law for? and i cant find them with Moses, Abraham circumcised all males in his household, including his servants, infact i read God spoke the laws and they included, foreigners, Aliens, living amongst you. was the 7 laws for them & the rest for you
@Proudsephardic yeah it says in the Qur'an surah 256? 251? "LET NOT RELIGION BE COMPULSORY. Truth stands clear from error...'' so naturally Allah/God/HaShem give us our free will to either obey or disobey. Yep, i tried to check the song out..didn't find it but again i'll try. Salam/shalom alaiykum !(:
Let me also clarify, that I do believe in modesty, not being homely and comely. I was created so uniquely and wonderfully that I just have to be me but I CAN be me in a very tone down way that shows my love and respect for the Creator as well as myself. Thanks for the video
I am Muslim and the covering is a hard thing for me. I did it and felt so "blah" not myself at all. I felt so dead and lack luster on the inside. I guess my thing is...is this really God's doing or human. Let me explain...everywhere I look I see His magnificence, majesty and beauty. It is not concealed or covered up it is there for the eye to see and enjoy. Why must religion make things so drab when the Creator is so wonderful. Is not the heart the most important thing... this is what is judged.
@rshweky9 read "crossing the narrow bridge" by Chaim Kaplain. (available on amazon.com) and look at teachings of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. you won't regret it!!!
@maurice2010ize also bear in mind, that the rabbis who did permit wig wearing did so when wigs were still a relatively new phenomena and most of them looked like straw, and were not at all as attractive as they are today.
I have yet to find a contemporary rabbi who allows what goes on today with the "sexy wig craze"... all the rabbis from today rely on the rabbis of yesteryear.
@maurice2020ize your right! wigs are deceptive and defeat the purpose. that is why hundreds of Rabbis don't allow them. However, many woman, battle with low self esteem, and even the ones who have a healthy good esteem battle with thier evil inclination. We all want to look pretty and be complimented. Therefore majority of the Jewish women go with the handful of rabbis who permitted us to cover our hair with wigs.
@rocker0428 Well, although there is a debate on the purpose of hair covering- Jewish law constitutes woman's hair after being married as a part of her body that may only be revealed to her husband: it is suppose to be concealed like other beautiful but discreet parts of the body- it is unique element which in a sense personifies, an exclusive connection between her husband and herself: something no one can take away. The pro wig opinion posits that since it technically covers hair- it is ok
@rabbimjn to quote you "it is suppose to be concealed like other beautiful but discreet parts of the body" and how does covering it with gorgeous, 100% human (European) hair OK for the purpose you mentioned? seems hypocritical. ps. i do cover my hair within accordance to Jewish religion/tradition, but with a scarf (or tichel)
the Steipler Gaon, the Villna Gaon, Rav Elyashiv, also reject wigs. Rav Ovadia Yosef is one among HUNDREDS of rabbanim (chassidish & litivish included) who paskin it is NOT ok.
I'm with you @proudsephardic, i reject wigs also, and i'm not even sepbardic

it's like islam and that's the biggest indicator that it's the same god of jews and muslims that commands people to behave in a certain way
yahmana 1 month ago
it's not about what is moral or not. everyone knows what's moral but no one knows how to control their behavior.
