yes , actualy it does , slipping the clutch makes the clutch wear out , its supposed to wear out , if you pop the clutch , or ride without using it , you will save te clutch allot longer , but your gearbox will wear out instead
@TheJoergPetrich people tend to think that becaus they dont now what is going on inside the engine , the shifting forks need to push the gears over eachother , if you do it without the clutch it wears them out because all the rotating mass is still atached, no matter how u shift
i only shift without the clutch when im racing, or riding motocross, unless when im about to take off on a jump
@supermotardmario seriously dude. I dont want to be ignorant. Its really how I say.. its a play with the throttle and the shiftlever. I dont want to explain it at all. Its really like so. When Im driving on the motocross track and when im driving on the street with my supersports bike, I dont use the clutch while driving (stopping and starting of course with the clutch). I build my gearbox apart some weeks ago and it still looks awesome although i drive since 2 years like that.
@staticxmako its not about "saving" ur clutch.. and its the easiest part to repair so shut the fuck up. how do you expect to win a race.. without popin the clutch.. what u guna grandma it to 1st place LMAOOO serously.. no.

@supermotardmario nope. if you know HOW to drive without clutch (im doing that on my supersports bike) it does nothing bad to the gearbox

@supermotardmario i EXAcTLY know what is happening and therefore i know why its possible without clutch ;)
its not bad for the gearbox if you know how. thats fact :) only a small hint:
there is no rotating mass when you do it right :)

@TheJoergPetrich i know how to quickshift lol , everyone knows , noone uses the clutch in a race
you think its harmless because it feels smooth, but it isnt
the gearbox wont explode or fail , but it does wear out more from it
all you do is equalising the momentum of the engine and the outgoing shaft
when you shift back you give a little gas, and when you shift up you loose the gas for a second
supermotardmario 1 year ago 2
@supermotardmario i think its harmless because i already dissassambled my gearboxes for several times.
