  • If i was here i would not be standing down.

  • why is that crowd not jumping up and down for Mumford and Sons?!

  • @1:30 Yeah tell daddy wutchu like. You want suma this? This baby makin' music right here.

  • i fuckin can't stand this band

  • @AutumnValleyDays wha?!! -__-

  • @AutumnValleyDays yet you feel the need to take th time out of your day to watch a video of them performing live and to then complain about it as if someones forced you to watch it.

  • It's kinda weird how Marcus dated Laura and then he preforms songs based on her when she's right in the room

  • @aryaloves this is about the allegory of the cave

  • @matthewpool12 But most of the songs are about her. And she's there for a lot of them.

  • @ladyali100 ACTUALLY...He lost her...I love Marcus in the most brotastic way...but it was his fault they broke up.Sadly...

  • LMFAOO 1:29

  • laura and marcus need to get back together.

  • Castlecomer are the new Mumford and Sons.

Search "the cave castlecomer" and see for yourself, their cover is beyond amazing.

I wish Marcus and his Sons could hear them for themselves!!

  • I dont understand how the crowd isn't stomping their feet lol I'd be on the table jumpin' up and down haha

  • Awesome!!!!! Perfection!

  • I dont understand how anyone can hate on these guys, their voices are great, they harmonize together which is pretty hard to do without ear bud monitors which they like never use... they work their asses off playing 300 shows a year, and all they want to do is make people happy. They dont care about personal fame, they just want to get their message across without drum machines and autotune.... these guys are fuckin geniuses!

  • WHY IS EVERYONE SITTING DOWN?! D:

  • ahaha. the audience is so .... still

  • @beccabooCOOL i think this type of concert was more formal, as standing and cheering like you do at normal concerts would make you look a little foolish. i mean, most of them had suits or gowns on, so this definitely was probably a much higher class concert. but at the end, the crowd does give them a standing ovation which is very nice.

  • you can tell he's nervous as fuck in front of those thousands of people lol he's singing so fast compared to other live/studio versions i've heard. poor guy

  • If I was there I would be jumping to the music!! Not just sitting there!!!!!

  • @idiotwithaAK47 Me too! lol

  • I agree, I'm a musician too.

Shut your critical mind for two minutes and open your ears. Feel the sound, the echoes. Picture the lyrics. Once you know what you felt, then comment. Only a limited person can judge a band simply on the timber of one's voice.

  • music experts my ass, are there any passive listeners to music anymore? or do people listen to just judge how great the band is or how they suck?, yes im a musician that doesnt mean i go to every page saying yes i do know how to play this, its very technical and the timings a bitch to get right sometimes, i go and say oh sweet sound love the feel and emotion or message in this song regardless of genre, listen to music, dont bash it, its probly saved your life more than once

  • all you so called music experts, maybe if you took your head out of your pompous arses you may be able to appreciate how good this is...

  • dear person-who-doesn't-understand-music,

"atrociously" written song? the compositional techniques are incredible. listen to more of their music. multiple layers, terraced dynamics, varying timbres and so on. Dust Bowl Dance in particular is interesting. the 6/8 time itself is awesome because they are one of the few bands who uses and know how to use it. and then go into 3/4 over 6/8? brilliant! learn a bit about music before calling something "atrocious"

    sincerely,

    person-who-knows-music

  • @Drahamer Hi, "person-who-knows-music". I am a curious-about-music-person that stumbled in this video. I listened to that dust bowl dance song you are talking about. Could you please give me the names of some of the few bands that "misused" the 6/8 time? I need to understand what do you mean when you say that Mumford & Sons do "know how to use it".Thank you.

  • Shoulda been Marling.

  • Lovely. Anyone else think that Ben should have a vocal solo? All in favor, say aye.

  • to the person below... how can you NOT think this is good!!

bloody hell, its decent compared to the shit thats going about these days

seen them live and they are iNCREDIBLE

  • to the person below... how can you NOT think this is good!!

bloody hell, its decent compared to the shit thats going about these days

  • to the person below... how can you NOT think this is good!!

  • @katasochin Not a problem but it's just music. What are you looking for, a scientific explanation or a formula why I find their music appealing? I like it, simple as that. It reminds me of "home" and makes overcast days not appear quite-so-drab. That's all. There are so many bands that I can't stand but I wouldn't even think about looking them up on YouTube or wherever, I just found it puzzling, that's all.

  • @katasochin Yes, I suppose they all can't be as polished and original as the Wild beasts, however, there is more hillbillys out there than any other unfortunately!

  • @katasochin then move on!! u dont like it so go!!

  • @katasochin so.. let me get this straight. if a band of five people have : the best singer, the best guitarist, the best bassist (best back vocalist also), best drummer and best f***whatever player (banjo, harmonica, etc..") - that'll be good music?

what about Neil Young? Bob Dylan? awful singers? What about the Beatles who couldn't play a lick to save their lifes? screw you man. music is emotion. get with it.

  • @katasochin you're such a sad person. You do know that tastes in music are subjective right? The sheer fact that you would comment negatively like that, just to rain on everyone's parade enjoying the video, is mindblowing. Even if the mumfords were actually badly playing their instruments, and that the song was actually not well written, your comment would still be weird and almost sociopath.

  • @katasochin Lol, I understand having different tastes, but saying they can't play their instruments very well is objectively wrong. They are obviously very skilled at their instruments if you've listened to any of their work. I can understand not liking the singing, he is pretty out of breath in this version here. I think Pantera is atrocious, but I'm not going to lie and say they don't know how to play their instruments, lol.

  • @katasochin

you obviously have no life. if you don't like them, then why do you bother looking them up? Loser...

  • @katasochin I feel sorry that you cannot appreciate good, REAL, music when it's right before you. I hope one day you will come to know Mumford and Sons as they are, AMAZING.

  • @katasochin Lol @ your stupidity

  • @katasochin first of all, i don't see you in one of the greatest bands ever created like these 4 gentlemen are. Just because you're jealous of their genious compositions and the happiness that it brings many people doesn't mean that you should talk badly about them. You write a better song than Mumford and Sons and then we'll talk. But we won't talk because that will NEVER HAPPEN!

  • @katasochin And yet, here you are...

  • 1:08 is she Laura?

  • @thegreattximino Yes. Obviously.

  • It angers me that they didnt win. I too wonder how the audience isnt just pumped up with this song. The band is rockin it out, and all the lights are flashin. I guess I would have been the only one screaming and dancing during the whole thing.

  • Comment removed

  • WTF are the audience doing? it must have been bizarre for them to have come from an entire summer of festivals where the audience went mental, to this incredibly anal and boring event where the best they could hope for was a head bop. crazyyy.

winston's snake hips get me every time, this is the most perfect performance ever and they definately should have won.

    the end.

  • Yes, I would have liked to have seen them win too!

Fantastic trumpet accompaniment too, particularly at the end of the song.

Looking forward to seeing them 'live' at the Hammersmith Apollo in October

  • dancing crazy!!! <33

  • Ahh no!! the wild beasts should have won this award!!! These guys are mainstream!!

  • @water4sure They've become mainstream because people of a variety of ages and backgrounds appreciate how good they are as a band. Stop being so up your own arse about how good music has to be alternative and realise that mainstream doesn't always equal bad music.

  • @15musician1995 Ouch!! Everybody is entitled to their own opinion Mr. hillbilly!!

  • Yes they should have!

I know this was an official function, but I really feel sorry for the audience. How on EARTH are they sitting still?
