  • is that a FT123-456 on the floor behind the drums?

  • @inhousevideo what is a FT123-456

  • I think it is a rare Tennessee Whiskey, it has been know to help harp players with the high notes. I use Jackie D and it helps me, but he is a god and uses custom equipment.

  • tanzt mann tanzt.

  • Mr. Musselwhite is ze King! Amen

  • @harptrian halleluja

  • is that an ES-35 on the left?

  • @gogglesux sorry i am no guitarplayer

  • @Harpsucker hahaha i know i was just wondering if anyone knew what kind it was.. i think i have seen you on the Harmonica jam site!

  • @gogglesux Hard to tell from the video but it does look like a Gibso ES335.

  • @gogglesux hard to tell from the vid but, yes i think so, could be a 90s model with that type of finish.

  • Good ole blues fella. Real blues. Born in Mississippi. Still blowing, saw him last night. Sings cool, too. Was all over those harps.

  • This is an amazing bit of video - he's playing in 3rd position for the first solo, then into cross harp for the second solo, and then straight for the last, it's a great lesson in different styles of blues harp playing|!

And I love the way he's looking for the right harp while he's singing, he must have at least one in every pocket of that jacket...

  • ONE of my Main Men from the Get Go. Playing some vest pocket gig with no decent gear or real Sidemen. That, Son, is A BLUES MAN!!!

    rtc

  • There ain't nothing about Charlie that would even imply that he's indulgent or a show off. He is by far one of the most humble and POLITE harp players I have ever met. Anyone who has met him knows this damn well. It's true what they say. Charlie can't do no wrong.

  • Damn, that's some stuff right there :)

  • great rock n´roll show man!

  • Saw Mr.Musselwhite in 68 in a little joint in Berkley Ca. There must have been 16 or 17 people there. But when the music started he played that harp inside out and upside down. I only thought i had heard the blues harp before that night. I managed to see Charlie perhaps ten other times. Once in Boulder Co. at Tulagi's on the hill. and Pollardville in Stockton Ca. Last time was at the fillmore in 2000. John Lee Hooker and Charlie were the Artists that night. Everyone ended up jamming together.

  • Harpsucker can say whatever he likes obviously he knows his shit and even if he doesn't his mojo rocks more than melts.

  • "play yo' ha'monica, son!"

  • enjoyable, very enjoyable.

  • What a master of the harp! I first heard him back about 1970 or so. He has such mastery over the instrument. He understands music theory which is where most guys fall down. He is a true musician. (Just wish he could sing) Sorry, Charlie.

  • very good !! :)

  • Fantastic , I met Charlie twice when he played here in the 80s and 90s in Auckland New Zealand, I got him to sign my Stand back album . He is a great Harp player and singer and a Very Cool Man ;-) .
