The reason why the Vans logo is blurred is because at the time, Sony retained an exclusive license for pretty much all Vans products. Steve Cab has the rights for the Cab Dragon logo (including the design used for his Vans pro models), so Activision was able to use the dragon logos in-game and not the actual "Vans" name.

The Sony deal didn't last too long, though. Vans got licensed in THPS4 up to now.
