  • hes a ace verry clever mind setting person hes a sure hero you deseve it all god bless

  • Legend

  • the kid that said thankyou for bringing me my daddy home made me cry :(

  • @CallMeMissNobody If I want to cry, I watch this video that I put up. Or is it that I get something in my eye every time that I watch it?

  • if you dissed liked this video that tell's you that you are not a human

  • Sully: 'I am beginning to understand why they might feel that way...'. Bit@@: 'And why is that?'.... huh? what kind of a dumb question is that! Respect to this man!!

  • Brilliant!

  • "did we make the best choices?" ?? what kind of hero, who lands an aluminum structure into water going 200 mph, when a bird just took out their engine minutes before, says that? He landed them all safely, in the end. This whole thing stinks. Where is Sullenberger in the photos of the people on the wings? lol

  • such a lovly man and a hero xx

  • if this plane had crashed in the city, it would have made 9/11 look more like ninety-eleven.

  • The man is all class.

  • How many people can say that they have their Name on Wikipedia for an heroic act? He does and sure damn he deserves it... Who said heros die? They don´t... they dodge the bullet... CApt. Sully´s a proof of that. Your family must be so proud of you. Cheers to you Capt. Sully

  • One beer? I´m from Portugal and i would buy him the most expensive bottle of Port Wine in the world if i could... This Man is what people should try to be... courageous, intelligent, stone cold in danger situations and caring for the lifes of others when they really need him to be at the best of his game. This man should have a Statue in his honour... while he is alive and kicking! Bless you Capt. Sully. Greetings from Portugal

  • When I fly I hope my pilot is as pro as this dude.

  • i got teary.

  • @19crf indeed

  • im so scared to fly ive never flied and i am going to europe july 9th and im afraid of heights. i hpe nthing bad happens

  • @pdlsuper7 You're in more danger in a car statisticly speaking. Infact you're more likely to get hit by a truck on a wednesday in the morning that die on a flight. Relax.

  • after surviving a horror fly with breathing masks and other party stuff... i'm so fucking scared of all airplanes ...

but man... i would fly with every fucking airplane in the world IF sully would be the pilot !

  • He retired. ;I

  • amazing man, pilot, friend, leader... yes... amazing. Hat's off to you, Sulley.

  • I would by you more than just a beer! He deserves more!!!!!

  • I hope the 3 dislikes were misclicks

  • He deserves more than a trophy, a medal or meeting the president,

That guy, saved lives. And I would rather meet him than anyone else.

  • i wish i can Shake you hand man... Your the biggest hero ive ever seen

  • Wow, I imagine myself being one of the passengers of that flight. If I were really, I would run up to him and tell him "Thanks for all the efforts you gave just to save the plane, I owe you, and the whole crew my life"

  • 3:19 SHUT UP DUDE! you are now MY hero! what more could you have done? you did all that you could do and what you did do was everything you could have done! You probably saved 155 dreams that day! Great Job man I wish I could meet you!

  • i cried watching air crash investigation on this case...and captain sullen really inspired me...his humility and professionalism, he's indeed a modern day hero

  • 3 members of al quaida watched this video

  • @FamouSimon I disagree. The three people who gave a "thumbs down" are most likely from the Phelps cult of inbreeds ay Westboro baptist Church.

  • Poor co-pilot... as important as the pilot, and yet nobody talks about him...

  • "the guys not a hero he was already on the plane for all we know he would of killed everyone on the plane if it increased his chances" House

  • real herossave not kill

  • He's like Dr. Spock Captain Kirk & Top Gun rolled up into one.

  • Who said superheroes do not exist? There he is right before our eyes. Thank you Captain.

  • I love this guy... he is so cool ... a superhero indeed :-)

  • flight 1549

people on it 155 equals 11

    9 11

    weird

  • @TheJfran95 what?

  • Rather be dead than cool.

  • This guy is awesome. He has all the right answers too. Very nice man. A true hero.

  • WOW!!!!

his coolness is unreal. ice for veins!!

  • god bless you my hero

  • I know that this happened awhile back. But everytime I revisit it I am moved. We talk about athletes being "clutch" in the difficult moments when things look bleak. This Captain, and this crew, may be the best definition of clutch in my generation. Everyone involved executed their responsibilities as best as possible, considering the circumstances. Passengers included as i understand. 1st responders & emergency response as well. We can all aspire to perform half as well. Nicely done.

  • did this make anyone cry wen they said thank you to him?

  • @volcomdude56 Yes. Very touching. Wonderful video.

  • @volcomdude56 YES! sniffles

  • What an inspiration. The captain and the crew deserve every bit of credit they get.

  • this guy is my hero.

  • The right man for the job, every call he made was spot on. Great great job, talk about handling pressure!!!

  • true hero

  • thanks man for saving many lives...... respect from the whole country of albania and kosovo

  • great job Sully!!! thanks from Albania

  • Captain Sullenberger and his crew, deserves a golden chair in heaven!!

  • Respect from France

  • This is proof that military pilots make the best civilian pilots. Capt Sullenberger was USAF.

  • Respect!!!

  • wow i´ve never been on a plane , but if some day im in one , i want him as our pilot!

    Respects from Baja Mex.

  • i think the co-pilot hasnt gained too much credit ;/

  • Respects to Captain Sullenberger..Absolutely incredible piloting!

Blue skies to him and all the crew of that airplane.

  • Great pilot and crew members... it's just amazing to see this video...

  • What a legend

PS: Who the fuck are the 2 people who gave this a thumbs down ???

  • @Ish0tJR I was wondering the same thing, who the fuck thumbs-downed this video? Might be that guy from United Airlines in the other video who is trash-talking Sully, saying he fucked up. I gave that guy and earfull. Captain Sullenberger is a true hero, and literally a model in everyday life of how people should model themselves after. Professional, courteous, very intelligent, selfless, humble, and respectful. What an amazing story, because of an amazing person.

  • A credit to the human race.

  • I just met him!!!!

What a cool guy. So put together and confident. I too called him a hero, he did not know that I was tearing up.

  • 3:03... That person has the artistic ability of a blind 3yo child with broken colored pencils.

  • @Benizie suk a dick

  • @TheAlmightyTaffy FUCKS UR PROBLEM

  • Comment removed

  • wow..

  • its good to see a happy ending, great work by the whole crew.

  • i cried

  • I bet many, if not all, has PTSD after this.

  • it's not a miracle, it's good flying - he's not a hero, but a damn good pilot.

  • my hero! hahaha

  • God bless you Sir.Sullenberger.

  • This man is so amazing. God put him in this situation for a reason. I love the fact that he's so humble. This event can only truly be described as a miracle.

  • Hero!

  • this mans biggest attribute is his humility.

  • Sullenberger is such a legend.

  • Best Pilot in the fucking World.

  • I've always wanted to be a pilot and still want to be one. But I'm scared of not becoming as good as him.

  • I am literally with tears on my face. This man is a complete unique person. The hero word is short to described what an intelligent human being he is. And by looking at this video i also think he is an amazong father. God bless this person, Captain you are my hero ... Cant find other words to describe this man.

  • i have a great deal of respect for all pilots since i want to be one myself, but this one is at the top of my list

  • well done sir you inspired me i always wanted to be a pilot god bless you captain

  • think about what he has done people.

he gave a person the ability to finish a lifetime of happiness and joy with loved ones and multiplied that by 155.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, I want to buy this man a beer.

  • @mrfourtysevenman

He is a Pilot. Leaves his emotions at HOME! They do not belong anywhere else in that profession.

  • good point.

  • When you add up all the relatives and close friends, he spared *thousands* of people all levels of grief. What a hero.

  • amazing man

    pure inspiration right there

  • What I noticed was when the woman thanked him for bringing her husband home to her. He asked her what her name was. That in itself says to me how genuine of a man CPT Sullenberger is. At a loss of words right now.

  • That stood out to me as well.. I have an immense respect for Captain Sullenberger.

  • Thank you Lord for making this man make the best choices and safe all those peoples life :)

  • I don't see in any way where the Lord is involved here, but this man is an outstanding professional pilot who did the best thing possible and save 155 lifes. Although it was his "job" to land the plane as safe as possible, these kind of things ask for the best skilled men. For this, he deserves a statue.

  • Saving 1 life is so called (easy) but saving 155 life? That is amazing,I don't know. I have no words. I travel about 3 to 4 times a year from John F. Kennedy 'JFK' to Rafael Hernandez 'BQN' and vise verse. I always thought if there was an accident how it will end. My only hope is for it to end like the Grand Hero "Captain Sullenberger"

  • Surreal story..

  • Right after this flight, Colgan Air Flight 3407 crashed along with many others. It shows that life is very precious, and bad events do happen. Sullenberger did a great job. Survival of people =Pilot+Calm River+ Proximity to emergency services.

  • they were all very , very lucky..

skill helps the odds.. but luck

    can't be bought.

  • Master glider of the universe.

  • this guy should join the army .. he so calm .. i will follow this kind of leader anytime.

  • i swear this is like the only plane i know of which has landed on water and done not broken up?

  • basically yes. there have been water landings of commercial jets, but none with 0 fatalities.

  • Its amazing how one normal pilot who yeah people knew as a friend and good pilot but was never famous for anything can save the lives of 100 people and now is known for something amazing. People who used to know Sullenberger as a friend and good pilot now know him as a hero. To me Sullenberger didnt just save 100 lives, but to me Sullenberger saved everyones lives.

  • This man deserves every award available ! As do the rest of the aircrew !

  • he's god ! ! !

  • amazing how 1 pilot could save a 100 peoples live

  • God bless Sullenberger , he saved everyone inside the plane.

  • Hes amazing:) what a great guy!

  • hey, i liked his daughters , yeahh?! someone knows them??? ;D

  • It's amazing he wonders if he could have done more. Just about any other pilot would have not had it it end that way. It's amazing.

  • Dude....I am so sending this guy a letter and buying him a beer. Best idea ever

  • gran piloto que dios lo bendiga cada dia a el y a todos los que estuvieron ese dia en ese vuelo

  • This guy is the best

  • i love this man. he urgently needs a statue

  • i wanna marry him! ps: 5:15 xD like 5 blinks per second

  • Damn you tear jerker!

  • Made me cry.

  • Is this the same guy as Little Bill from Boogie Nights?

  • I think that captain Sullyand his crew could benefit from EMDR. (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing--Therapy) EMDR can be an extremely effective tool for coping with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Sadly, Capt. Sully talked about "forgiving himself"..... for what?? This man and his flight crew, as well as the air traffic controllers and the rescue crews are all heroes.

  • i remember, when we hit the river it felt like if we had hit a mountain of feathers.

  • This guy exemplifies what a pilot is to be..always calm, always level, and always self evaluating.

  • Wow what a fantastic guy. Thank you for saving the world Captain. Thank you so very much :)

    Respects from Iran.

  • @SeyedJalalHosseini saving the "world" ?!?!!

  • What is he saying? He did what he could do. I am sure under different circumstances he would have made it to the airport. He was lucky he was near so close to rescue boats.

  • He´s so damn cool!

  • The mark of a profesional under duress

  • He's amazing!

  • This is a great story very inspirational some people think they gave him to much credit but thats untrue he deserves all the credit he gave them. Anytime someone saves others lives it is incredible. A hero can be defined in many ways. He wasnt just doing his job, he went above and beyond his call and god bless this man.

  • @mcarock1 I dont think they give him too much credit, but they certainly dont give the FO or the FAs enough credit. Except Sully lol, he gives them credit constantly.

  • @mcarock1 Agreed.

  • I wanna be this man! Cool as a cucumber and a great ambassador for America! 'Sully' you are a legend!

  • Great job Captain!!! If i was rich and if i had my private jet, u was my favourite and best pay employee!! What a pilot!!!

  • If you think about all the details he had to have perfect when he hit the water...flaps,yawl,pitch.attitude,airspeed, rudder, ect. He made a flawless landing under extreme cicumstances. What an extrodinary pilot and crew.Your the MAN Captian Sully !!

  • Yes he did the best choice!

  • that had brought tears tomy eyes, wow great job captain Sullenberger

  • what a greattttttttttttttttttttt guy and pilot and hero ....woooww

  • he is such a hero. i wnt him to fly me evertime i go on a plane! what a heart touching story!

  • This is an amazing story. Sullenberger and his crew can fly me anywhere.

  • Experiencing a global crisis of character I am so impressed by seing a man of great character. I really am...

  • You are a trully Hero, A Icon for my career an inspiration to keep follwoing my dream path! I`ll Allways remember you Capitain Chesley Sullenberger. God bless us all!

  • Forget all of the celebrities and athletes. This guy is a true American Hero. I wasn't even on this flight and it has touched me dearly. Like I said, a true American hero.

  • Logic would say he just did his job, common sense would be to acknowledge he did it well. But however far you want to minimise his heroism, you cannot deny he is such a sweet heart.

Oh, and yes Sully, I would indeed rather have good news if I happen to have a choice :)

  • He makes a very good point, its not just 155 people he saved, he saved 155 families. It seems throught the documentary, that he doesnt want to be the hero, he was just doing his job.

  • What a hero, pilot and crew

  • this vedio made me cry and remind me of 228 ppl who lost their lives in air france palne disaster. hope they all RIP.

  • how good

  • GENUINE HERO! MAGNIFICENT PERSON!

  • lol, i would of wanted his autograph too

  • Tears are running down my face, and that never normally happens to me

  • Same here. His enormous humility is so real

  • he is amazing

  • "Heroes for life"

  • More than an excelente pilot, is an excelent person! Regards, Mr. Sully.

    Respect from Brazil.

  • Thank you, for letting me feel hopefull again.

  • GOD BLESS YA

  • Comment removed

  • thank you for saving my friends life

now the titanic captain would look like a idiot next to this guy

  • to be fair, the Titanic captain would look like an idiot compared to pretty much anything or anyone. Sully you are awesome!!!!!!

  • thanks for this beautiful video.. its wonderful to see this very good and caring man and his lovely family. we do need good news like this.

  • I was on the plane :( really scray thought i wasnnt going to see anyone else

  • U WERE ON THE PLANE?

  • 3:26 It sucks that he's haunted by the event, worrying that he didn't do "something better"...even though the outcome was a total success! He must be a great perfectionist. That's what makes him such an excellent pilot. Great work, Captain!

  • the media doesn't give a care. They're all too busy making us look like the bad guys.

  • The gallantry of military pilots is not to be questioned, and they display skill and bravery daily. Fighting men know the dangers they face, and do so willingly.

Airlines are altogether different. What makes this captain so remarkable, and why he rightfully deserves praise is because he 1) saved the lives of so many innocent people at once 2) maneuvered his aircraft with unmatched skill in a never-before-seen, worst-case scenario and 3) has continued to display class, confidence and humility.

  • You should bring your grievances to the media who don't let people know of these incidents.

Pilots in the military and Sullenberger are both heroes.

  • Maybe this is such a big deal because he could have crashed into a building and could have killed 100's of people.

  • From the Captain's favorite letter:

"Dear Captain Sullenberger, Big Apple Hero

Yesterday, I just received a voicemail from my 84-year-old father who lives on the 30th floor of a building with river views, here in Manhattan.

  • Had you not been so skilled, my father, or others like him in their sky-high buildings could have perished along with your passengers had not you landed in the river as you had.

As a holocaust survivor, my father taught me that to save a life, is to save the world as you never know what the person you've saved, nor his or her prodigy will go on to contribute to the peace and healing of the world.

    Bless you, Captain Sullenberger

    New York Loves You."

  • oh my god from my pure English what I understand this letter totally means some thing negative is that, right plz foxmac007 u answer me thanx alot.

    love from afghansitan

  • I want Captain Sullie in charge of the bailout.

I'm pretty sure he pays his taxes, too.

  • hahahhahahahah thats awesome.. me too!

  • His decisiveness is the reason that they are all alive today - because he made the right choices. Without someone like him in charge, January 15th would have been a very sad day.
