The pacing of the story and character development are irrelevant. Why? It's a dream. I believe that's why not much effort was put into these areas. It's an easy concept to work with to highlight the concept of the game better.
When I saw this vid in the Related section for an Arc Rise Fantasia song, I thought the guy in this video was Alf, and I wondered when a "crowning" scene would happen in ARF. I guess it was just a guy that Alf resembled quite a bit. XD
@Endogetsu Actually, most of the battle songs in this game have bits and pieces of the True Mirror in them. They're very pronounced in "Leap the Precipice".
I've never played Eternal Sonata but this theme is GORGEOUS! Definitely using it for Brawl. Did Sakuraba compose this or is it an adaptation of a Chopin song?
@ReallyDarkDragon he can be annoying but strong wouldn't be the right word. i meant he really isnt all that much of a villain...IMO the game's story has some bad pacing and waltz doesnt really do much for most of the game.
@PKK345 Character dialogue, the LENGTH (ugh) of the dialogue, story pacing and character development...all falls flat, I only finished the game because the gameplay was original and fun for a RPG and kept changing throughout the game.
@PKK345 I wouldnt know about Tales, I wanted to play one badly but if they never localize it, it's the end of that. (Vesperia for PS3, Graces for Wii etc)
@Hellichibi The games have great battle systems and amazings osts...but their stories are generic and don't really go beyond a basic "Saving the world by collecting this and that." (Example: Crystals or special rocks or summon beasts) formula. Not dissing the entirety of the games just their no-surprises stories.
@PKK345 Are you kidding me..the storylines are generic at first, but around halfway into the game your whole world will get flipped upside down,IF you aren't one of those people that looks everything up. And,I haven't seen one besides maybe ToS:DotN that was about nothing but collecting things.
@Hellichibi Halfway through the game they start to forcefully pulling out more plot points to further stretch out the length of the game when they don't have to. and many of those plots are much better off as optional side quests that only delay the character's main goals. and sometimes by the halfway point i wished they had just ended it there so i don't have to watch the unsatisfying ending. Most recent one i can think of is ToV and ToS2
@PKK345 I will agree on ToS2,it was kind of stretched out. But seriously, you have no idea what your talking about. They aren't stretched out, they're called plot twists. Most people got to the fight against Remiel in ToS and thought *Final Boss!* But then they get duped and learn they're barely even close to halfway through the game. Unsatisfying ending? I'm sorry but all the Tales games I've played have had satisfying endings except for ToS2.
@Hellichibi Plot twists are those things that stretch a story. its all a matter of opinion " i don't have to watch the unsatisfying ending." Notice the "I". I don't even know why ur trying so hard to defend the series when i was just making a reference to it now i have to respond to this pointless debate. cya.
I hate count waltz. He slapped polka for god sakes.

Is this a motoi sakuraba track? if it's not it does sound like one. some parts remind me of the "tales"series.

One can recognize Tri Crescendo's genius from miles away. I knew the music would be fabulous as soon as I discovered they made the game.

Waltz +Legato = Really hard fight. You fight Waltz a second time in the PS3 version. He fights with Legato...ahem i mean Ruined Body. And its hard.

Ok, listening to it a few times, I can say that the small little violin part starting at 1:27 is definetly from Baten Kaitos...
In particular, I think it's from the song titled 'The True Mirror'.
Endogetsu 7 months ago
@Endogetsu
Well, the music from both games are composed by Motoi Sakuraba. So you'll find similarities between them.

Count Waltz. What a dick. Still, love his battle theme. Hell, I just love the music from that game in general. LOVE Eternal Sonata. ^^

Why couldn't he just give up on the first or second fight? He's so stubborn that he doesn't know the meaning of "Drop dead", Give up" or "Surrender".

man this guy's additude was annoying especially the part he slapped Polka.. that got me furious :( but the theme is pretty good
