playing on nightmare is not impossible. specially this map. the mancubi and cyberdemon will infight giving you time to kill the cyberdemon.

rockets do 200-300 damage, 300 counting the splash damage at close range. you'll have an easier time with the shotgun at close range. is not that hard to dodge the rockets.

Uhh personally I thought the only differences were in levels and music.

I think Xbox had the best music (super nintendo was a close second) and then the PSX version had a great level selection.

CHeck out the 3DO music for Doom IT was the only good thing it had going for it. My favorite version of Doom is on the Atari Jaguar. It didn't even have music in most of the game.

Let me add on to it since it's been some time. The Xbox version emulated the Gravis Ultrasound Soundcard for music (Which you can still get a sound font highly similar to it), and PSX had one new demon to make up for the lacking of the Arch-Vile, the Nightmare Spectre who was even tougher then the regular Spectre, and the graphics style had been vastly made different, with colored-lighting, music, and different sounds, and some PSX exclusive maps.

Not really, on Nightmare difficulty it does the same damage for all skill levels except for "I'm too young to die".

It basically fires extremely fast on Nightmare.

First I finished the level in "I am too noob to die!" level.

Second attempt was in Ultra Violence and owned the bitch.

Most challenging thing in the game was exploration.

And yeah Nightmare is almost undoable... and I hardly even see the point of just killing things that will not stay dead.

Unless you're talking about XBLA version of DOOM. The PC version is really easy due to the Keyboard & Mouse, and I've completely beat DOOM 2 on Ultra Violence, quite a challenge. Though I'm hoping to beat the original Ultimate DOOM on Ultra Violence all the way, since I played through only Knee Deep in the Dead.

The Xbox Live version looks and sounds exactly like the original PC version...I have the Doomsday engine now so I run Doom at 1280x1024 with full 3D graphics, awesome high quality sound, I can jump, look up and down and the monster and weapon models look amazing!

ive beat doom on the hardest setting in the 3rd world its very fun for snes, nightmare does make it harder the demons, the things that look like pigs run x10 faster and can trap u and eat your face off lol its still a great game.

Yeah, Nightmare is INCREDIBLY hard. I had to beat a level on Nightmare for a 360 achievement, and even beating Lv1 was hard until I realized you could take the shortcut past the acid pit.
