  • What about the eastern part of North America? Will it hit there too? I gotta prepare for this if it's possible.

  • You will see Honshu abandoned in the near future. We may lose 100 million people in the world over this mess if they don't bury the reactor immediately!!!

  • @deanphilpot you said that right....

  • More scare tactics bullshit. It will be no more radiation than we're already being bombarded with from the cellphone towers, chemtrails and fluoride.

  • Belgum and russia have been hit with radiation from japan aswell.. Thats some distance away...

  • lol not surprising you watch Fox news

  • @Jorgie0101 Yes among many other news sources - its interesting when you look at other countries news.

    :)

  • BS the radiation going that far will be less then the radiation you get from the sun. I don't have a problem with you buying though pills. though i respect if you said it was for a nuke war. Just look it up Chernobyl a reactor that hit 7 which max on their level how bad was only a 30 km dead zone it blow radiation up. It true we all went up a bit but more background and radiation from the sun was worse. Final you can look for your self. radiationnetwork(dot)com live data people.

  • @starknight97 Ahhh... no.

    ;)

  • @starknight97 I never said it would be a high reading just that it would hit the u.s. Another interesting bit of info = how come it seems no one can get the actual radiation #s from Japan (or other nuke accidents).

BTW I live close to NORAD & an Army Chemical weapons depot among other things.

    :)

  • @SafeArmsReview Will by that standard even test nuke under Ground raises levels a bit. Though ozone holes are they worse thing we face from low levels of rads. Then you have more reasons then most for the pills they not help with chem or bio weapons only a gas mask and air-filter for you home will help with that. As far a nuke war goes the Russian have a a few of their biggest nukes pointed at NORAD. So living though that hopeless. unless you about 15 miles out and have a bunker of you own.

  • @SafeArmsReview As far as the actual cpm their i'll agree they don't want use too whats in japan right now. Yet i love too see a network like our out there. or at least a civy owned GeigerCounters on you tube for us.

  • Steve great video

I figured I'd share my birthday's date with you 4-26-1986... Ring a bell?

  • Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work and keep sharing the knowledge!!!

  • Some has hit California BUT it's so miniscule there's no reason to freak out.

  • @ATF6281914 Thats because radiation takes 7 days to travel along the jet-stream. So the effects we are seeing is from day 1 . If you look at the VARIOUS explosions and fires that have erupted since then, you can deduct that we have only seen the very peak of the iceberg.

Now i know everyone is an internet know it all, so ill just go ahead and show you the proof before you start ranting. Google - Radiation Plume - And look under the images. the MASSIVE plume in the ocean is going to hit us.

  • @Derka33

Calm down, I'm not gonna rant. I don't want to create an argument over something stupid. If radiation from 8000 miles away kills me... so be it. But I choose to not live my life in fear unlike some people.

Did you even look at the pictures on Google? One states, and I quote, "Radiation from crippled Japanese reactors will be diluted as it travels across the Pacific Ocean and, at worst, would have *extremely minor* health consequences in the U.S."

    I added the asterisks.

  • @ATF6281914 Just my thought lol

  • @ATF6281914 Current radiation level in ca san fransico. is 28 cpm this is normal 100 cpm is were you start too worry then were the charts show the cloud going to is Vancouver which is 10 cpm which is the lowest in the u.s. time for this reading is 3:45 am 3-22.

  • thanks for all the info

  • somebody please provide some quantitative data, how much radiation are we in california getting right now, and how much can we expect to recerive in the future, im tired of people saying things like its safer than a banana, if thats true i want to know how much i get from a banana, vs the amount we are getting in some verifiable study

  • 12% to 25% of pollution comes from west of the U.S. so we could get 12-25% of radiation added to what we already recave here in the u.s.

china's pollutiton makes it way to the u.s. the u.s. sends more jobs to china so thay make more pollution to poison are air and water so when you buy china goods you are killing jobs and yourselves and your kids future.

I bet japan wount buy any more GE reactors that was made in china.

    thanks for the update

  • I am by no means an expert, but I do have a ton of experience with radiation and radioactive contamination. Radiation could spread to the US, but at the affected reactors current state, there is no significant levels of radiation making it over to our shore. In fact, you will get a higher dose by eating a banana than you would from fallout from Japan. Therefore potassium iodide is not necessary at this time and people are goughing the ignorant. It's unfortunate. Japan has to get alot worse!

  • Urging people to be prepared and being a fear monger are VERY different things. You seem to be offering up a lot of this information as proof that the banana heads are wrong. Don't worry about those fools. Just give the good folks the information. Those other people are just trolls. Dismiss them. There are some people who will never believe that a flat tire is possible, so they wont carry a spare. How are you gonna argue with them until they've had a flat? Hope your back is "back" to 100% soon!

  • It's official California picked some up. Nothing significant though.

  • the only thing potasium iodide will help with is the iodine isotope which is so short lived that it wont be around long enough to be a danger, the other types will though and those are the only ones that will make it to the west coast of the usa.

  • Just read an article that that the CEO of the power company said that the situation has been much worse than what they have been reporting. It has rose to a level 5 and said that the level is enough to kill!

    dailymail DOT co DOT uk/news/article-1367684/Nuclear-plant-chief-weeps-Japanese-finally-admit-radiation-leak-kill-people.html

  • actually the radiation could end up engulfing the entire globe.

  • the Longer the Radiation Leak , the Stronger the Concentration of Radiation

  • I guess nobody has heard of the jet stream.

  • ....with a point of info that is pretty much unconsequential to the issue. How much rad. is the question.

If your point is that atleast 1 single molecule will contact North America, then ... your right, atleast one molecule of radioactive material will contact the US.

But were all still at the starting line at that point.

Also, potassium iodine is a very dangerous supplement to take in high levels, i.e. concentrated pill form.

The public is very mis-informed regarding that.

  • SAR, radiation is already affecting our rad. readings here in the US. The thing is, it is an extreme mundane amount. Something to remember for both sides of the discussion, if a nuclear core is compromised end game AND the reactive material is not contained (i.e. - massive concrete dump, earth detonation fail safe etc. etc.) then a significant amount of rad. can be introduced to the atmosphere.

I understand your opinion, but from watching this vid, it appears you are concerning yourself.....

  • @TimThePlumber001 the MEASURABLE radiation can reach us and the rest of the world for that matter but at what level and for how long is the question. I agree with Zombie on this one it wont be an effect on our health. The key word for today is MEASURABLE..

  • @ZombieTactics you are 100% right and trying to compare Chernobyl to whats going on at the Fukushima reactor is like trying to compare an AK to an AR. They are just 2 different but they keep trying. 2 different weapons and 2 different power plants.

  • @homegrownsurvivor and they still do, Of the 440,350 wild boar killed in the 2010 hunting season in Germany, over 1,000 were found to be contaminated with levels of radiation above the permitted limit of 600 bequerels, due to residual radioactivity from Chernobyl

  • Has 6 nuk plant with nox fuel on fire together ever happened? If this does happen a plum large enouhg cannot reach the US?

  • Where can you can you get those potassium iodide pills?

  • illuminatie

  • The issue is not whether "radiation can get here", but whether in this case radiation of significant strength can reach the U.S. .... the distinction is not trivial. There is virtually no possibility that a "plume" or "cloud" from Japan will reach the U.S. capable of causing death, serious illness or measurable long-term health effects. There is nothing "wacky" about this assertion, as it's the position of every bona fide expert ... including some I know personally.

  • the "wackadoos" have been brought up on cool-aid

  • When you have material that is so potent that a speck of dust irridated can kill you in 48 hours. It has already arrived here on planed and passengers both in Dallas and Chicago. Think I am a fearmonger look up Alexander Valterovich Litvinenko he was killed by a tiny dose of radiation that dose killed him and probably killed the one giving him the dose. This thing can end the human race if it keeps running on. What has occured will cause cancer for millions. This is not childs play. Good work.

  • lets not forget that some of that stuf has a half life of thousands of years :(

  • you can't make me fear any more than watching that tsunami bowlin over all those towns, however bad it may be for us, i am truly heart broken over the worry for our fellow life forms (/human//animals) in japan. next is the environment surrounding japan, next is the rest of us. hope

news is a lie...fox news is an agenda...

  • It is as simple as better safe than sorry. This phrase is used in many, many situations in our everyday life. Why is it so difficult for people to believe this is not possible. Is it because the president said it is doubtful the US will be impacted.Yes that's a great idea ,just because he said so.I personally am going to play it safe.SAR great video. Thanks

  • SAR, I truly think there will be some suspicion over the vegetables and fruits coming to the rest of the country from the West Coast states in the coming months. I expect more people in the Midwest and East will buy local than ever before, if nothing else out of fear. It is going to be and interesting next few months.

  • It is a known fact that Thyroid Cancer and Thyroid Disease is increasing almost yearly in our population here in the US. Because of that, even with low levels of radiation entering the West Coast I would probably have puzzles and activities for my children to do indoors until this blew over. Why take the chance of this small amount of radioactive pollution adding to their risk of Thyroid problems in the future. Calm, careful decisions for you and the kids is wise. Thanks SAR.

  • I remember the contemporary reporting on Chernobyl. The radiation did reach us, but was no threat when it got here. Remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki. How much radiation was released then? How did that radiation affect us? We should learn from Sendai, but we all need to take a deep breath.

  • Steve, I'll be honest here. I disagree with the idea that the radiation will make it here. Something I've found is most people wind up comparing the situation to chernobyl, when a closer comparison would actually be 3 mile island, where the radiation levels were not more than that in a banana. The whole "youngster's don't know" way of thinking has bit many an old man in the ass as well. I've researched it and my conclusion is that the probability is that it won't make it here.

  • @Shean2010 I think there is around 104 nuclear reactors in the USA. They are not all positioned to safely go off and pollute another country if their is a containment issue. Look at a map of the US and see that they are all over the country for the most part. In Japan, the Nuclear plants are located on the seaboard side giving good access to water etc. Japan has extremely limited natural resources and relies heavily on nuclear energy for power.

  • The proof is in the math. There are dispersion equations that can predict how far this stuff will go but you need the amount being released at ground zero for them to work. Also people who think things cant travel over the oceans should google " Mongolian dust storm hits west cost". I watched this dust storm come into Tucson from a mountain top. Keep up the good work bro!

  • That "nuclear expert" stated that radiation can make it here, based upon a false comparison (Chernobyl). This is not like Chernobyl ,therefore his comparison is null and void.

  • watch?v=0DvLAej5alo

Astrotometry is monitoring in Northern California. He knows his equipment, and has posted update bulletins and the above video. At 10pm last nite he showed no measurable increase. I think just pay attention to the monitors. No need to be scared, be prepared.

I have no doubt that a significant release of radiation could reach America.

  • I propose a skype debate between you and Zombie Tactics.

  • good video thanks

  • Radiation from Chernobyl reached mainland Uk, the radiated area are still restricted today

    en.wikipedia . org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster_effects

scroll to 24 years after the catastrophe

  • hang in there steve you'll be back in no time soldier.. outstanding video by the way

  • Did this person say 200 IOSAT tablets or 200 Kelp tablets? IOSAT has 130mg per tablet...Kelp has measurements in MCG and you would have to take hundreds of kelp tablets to get enough iodine to equal a loading dose.

Yeah, isotopes can reach the US but the danger lessens by distance and time. There is a lot of disinformation out there and much of it is fueling unneccesary fear and can lead to people making stupid choices. Iodine can do harm.

  • Hey Steve, Thanks for the info. I particularly appreciate the proper spelling of 'wack-a-doos' I found in the description of this video. Could I possibly get your official definition of 'wack-a-doos' . I love that word.

  • this is what i know is fact: Chernobyl was a 7/7. Japan just upped the danger rating on there's to a 5/7 and is saying that they have made several mistakes. I am not "scared" of the radiation because its not like it will reach the east coast. That being said i don't think i would be "scared" if i lived on the west coast either. Steve you are being a concerned citizen and i thank you for your concerns and everyone should accept the info and YOU decide the amount concern you want to have.

  • Although your video does present the facts, I want to point out that it doesn't point out ALL the facts. For instance there is a HUGE difference between detectable levels of radiation and HARMFUL levels of radiation. I have no doubt there will be detectable radiation found at U.S. Sites from the Japan disaster. The key is harmful level and it will certainly never reach what we call a lethal dose. Just an FYI.

  • im some one than did research it and i am over 30

i still say its bullshit that it could happen

its simple that it will disperse

..... seriously anyone worried about this radiation

take your monitor and throw it out your window

then get your microwave and mobile phone and chuck them too

really .... ppl are really dumb and scared

  • Thanks for going above and beyond the call to duty SafeArmsReview! I salute you.

  • Thanks Steve! :)

  • NO AMOUNT OF LEAKAGE FROM A NUCLEAR PLANT IS SAFE - LEAKAGE IS BYPRODUCT ----- CONTAMINATION. RADIATION IS ONLY ONE MEANS OF DETECTION. THE FACT IS IT HAS BEEN INJECTED. GET IT THROUGH YOUR SKULLS PEOPLE. I don't mean to be rude but Jesus age Christ.

  • Also to quote the great Stanton Friedman: "If your going to go toe to toe with the big boys you'd better have your facts straight, and you'd better have 'em in hand."

  • First off all, don't take ANY of those KI tablets unless there are radioactive particles present and in that case take them as directed (usually one tablet per day).

The pollution evidence (not proof) is only part of the story. The reactors in Japan are a different type of technology than Chernobyl. The possibility of that type of catastrophe at this point in time is basically zero (From right now, not the time of the video). We will not see any significant radiation here in the US.

  • There are also studies that show fallout from Chinese nuke tests reached as far as the midwest.

  • @shphawk yes radiation technology allows us to detect very small amounts of radiation, much less than what is going to hurt a person. You get exposure to radiation all the time from any electronic device, especially things like cell phones, metal detectors and X-rays. Nothing to worry about. The studies I've seen traced radiation in the midwest back to North Korea but they may have traced some back to China too.

  • @gboyd242 --- radiation from the sun ect is not the same as radiation from nuclear plants. Even if the wavelengths are the same type it is not an equal comparison do to how there were used. Furthermore the radiation is PROOF that leakage of very very very deadly dangerous byproducts from nuclear factory have in FACT been injected into the air and there is no "SAFE" level for these types of particles. The science you are using is old and misleading to justify low level radiation.

  • @TheChineseEmpire There is nothing magical about nuclear. No it's not the same as the sun which is why I specifically didn't mention the sun. There are acceptable levels of radiation I don't know that you could call them "safe" because technically one particle could trigger cancer in a person but that is very unlikely, perhaps even to the point of statistical impossibility. It would take an hour of talking to start to explain the whole situation. I encourage people to educate themselves.

  • Try searching for a fallout map from chernobyl, and you will see that it went around the world.

  • Its totally plausible to say the radiation would come here. If there is enough to affect us, we dont know. There are no straight answers from Japan or the US govt. So we will know when either people fall over dead, or they dont.

If you want to err on the side of caution, buy the pills and plastic and duct tape.

If you dont think its possible, then keep on doing your thing.

One group of us might end up disappointed at their prediction. Which one? We will find out.

  • There goes the US food supply. The only thing corn will be good for is ethanol. Milk and Beef will be gone. This shit is going to hit all at once. The food supply goes and then the dollar crashes. Peoples health goes. A lot of people will die. When people die you lose experience and knowledge from the workforce. There will be civil unrest as people fight government and each other for food.

  • well i did say i would apologize if you would show me proof

    im sorry mr.safearmsreview

  • THEROMDYNAMICS!!! the amount of radioacitve particals that cant cross the sea is the same as an airplane ride for 4 hours...

  • @CoinZaphod187 *can sorry typo

  • Say if the radiation did travel to the US, how much radiation would there be? Would it be a significant amount?

  • just found u love ur vids...thanks

  • Dam, you look good in this video.
