@pms00 Wrong; you can use the command console to ressurect them and reset their AI values, if you know what you're doing.

I've managed to resurrect them, give them life status, have them chained back up, and be able to give quest info after killing them. Problem is you can no longer vent your anger out on them; they will fall out of the chains, run, then get slaughtered by the brotherhood.

@Em34ME - this is a known problem. it happens if you visit the house for the first time before fully upgrading it. you can either roll back your save & buy the house + all upgrades before ever stepping foot inside, or wait for patch 1.4 which is supposed to fix this issue.
