I absolutely LOVE this arrangement. This is one of my favorite game songs and certainly the best arrangement around. I even like it better than the full orchestra version.It's so alive!! Your violin playing is so bright and clear. The violin "solo" in the middle of the song always gives me shivers.

Te reason the 'flute' sounds too high is because it isn't a flute.

It's a piccolo, which is smaller and higher pitched.

@Diremagic if they used a flute it would sound too exotic at once, but i am guessing that the reason they are using piccolo is to get a eastern taste. what i really like about piccolo is that they're the only one wood wind instrument in orchestral which can truly break through the thick texture, like a highlighter i suppose.

It was great, I loved the guitar(ist), he was spot on! But...I can't say I loved the flute, and the drums came on a little too strong. The flute..could have been taken out completely for all I care, and those parts should have been replaced with the violin.

=) Thank you so much. I glad to hear that you're planning on getting a violin soon, its absolutely exhilarating to play. My violin is actually a modern instrument. My teachers in Los Angeles had it made for me by Matsuda in 2000. so it doesn't have the "roundness" of a 16th - 17th century instrument. but she's got a huge voice and for music like this when I want to project sound and add a little shredding feature, she's perfect. =) hope that helps.
