  • BorisChristoff was awesome--but Jerome Hines had them all beat hands down! Jerry led me to know Jesus as my Saviour so he is very special to me for that even more than his singing.

  • who are the dudes singin bass?

  • @TrueSouthernPride one is JD Sumner cant remember the other guys name

  • @TrueSouthernPride JD Sumner s the old dude, Mike Allen is the one in the gray coat, the last guy I'm not sure. I'll have to research it and let you know.

  • Thumbs up if you came to just here J.D. Sumner, forget the rest of the song!

  • Good, not great. Can't beat the original

  • Good, not great.

  • Spectacolul e frumos! Dar pe Domnul il gasesti cu adevarat in camaruta ta cand stai pe genunci in rugaciune cu usa incuiata !

Nu trebuie sa alergi in India sau America pentru al intalni pe Domnul sau pentru a fi vindecata!

    Domnul vindeca !

  • That's J.D. alright

  • is tht J.D. Sumner in there?

  • I love how this video joins many people together even in singing it

  • Why does J.D. hold his hand up to his ear ?

  • @Larry218Oklahoma I think it has something to do with keeping his vocal chords in shape for bass singing.

  • @Larry218Oklahoma I think also that it helps him hear only himself to hit the correct note.

  • How can anybody not love this song besides Satan and his followers. I will be praying for the 10 people on here who probably do not have Christ.

  • @wduane2807 I'm a Christian and I don't really like the cover... Music is more than just the message, musicianship, lyrical phonetics, melody, rhythm, and performance are important. I don't like the musicians in this...

  • @chocolatedonut31 You might not like it, and that's respectable. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But you cannot argue that JD Sumner is the greatest bass singer of all time and does his bass lines justice!

  • @vipor3D Boris Christoff is my favorite bass singer. I don't think the singers are that extraordinary, sorry. I only commented because some asshole said that people that don't like it are satanists...

  • @chocolatedonut31 Like I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion. The majority of the singers here aren't anything super special, I agree. Woody Wright and Sonya Isaacs are pretty good, though. Still, JD is the BEST bass. That doesn't mean he has to be everyone's favorite, but all bass singers are measured on the "JD Sumner Scale."

  • For those who've lost a dear one and hope to rejoin them someday

    Dedication

  • Sinner saved by The Grace of God. Thank you lord

  • What is "Gaither"???? What does that mean??

  • @171Family um, gaither is the last name of Bill and Gloria. you know, Bill and Gloria Gaither? and bill is the "founder" of basically all of this. there was the gaither trio and the gaither vocal band. so yeah. gaither is just the last name. cuz he has Gaither Homecomings.

  • Sonya Isaac U.R.A. CUTIE

  • I Just Can´t Stop Stomping !!!

  • i remember how i used to listen to this song and other gaither songs before i was separated from my father in Africa. cant wait to see him in that big circle in the sky.

  • lady a 2:09 seriously cant sing

  • @MrSilverado2000 if u don't have nothing good to say then don't say anything. ik that thats a childish phrase, but still. Ladye Love Smith is one of my favorite female gospel singers. please try to keep those kinds of opinions to yourself

  • @MrSilverado2000 please let me hear you take a better tone!

  • absolutly amazing

  • this is two of my favorite songs this video is truely amazing i love it i love it

  • My daddy sang bass, but I've always always always loved tenors, idk why, but something about them draws...

  • this is a song my all my family sing together!!! :) LOVE IT!!!!!!! :)

  • Great tune just to listen to, it relaxes you

  • y is every time i try to watch this one song it duznt load? is it just me?

  • Very entertaining. Religion aside.

  • @Halofann well nobody said it would be easy, but knowing you are never alone is good place to start, you've got your Christian brothers and sisters of the family circle, and you've got Jesus, that is unstoppable if you just be patient and trust in him. It's hard, but won't it worth it, but won't it be worth it one of these days and it won't be long to rejoin them in a song?

  • I have a life full of trouble then i meet a teacher and she told me to go to this church and after 7months i got baptised and now all i have to do is keep being a christian in the bible belt but being a christain is so hard now

  • OMG The Bass Is Awesome

  • 'cause singin' seems to help a troubled soul

  • How do they make money with so many singers?

  • Who is that man singing at the beggining in blue shirt?

  • Who is the bass singer other than mike allen and jd?

  • @JuggernautWest Doug Young

  • @JuggernautWest In this video? JD and Mike are the only two in this one. Are you thinking about George Younce? He's probably the most well known bass on Gaither aside from JD...

  • @The336336336 At 1:08, you can see him. From left to right, its Mike Allen, JD, and mystery man.

  • This really sounds good.

    More of this thank you.

    Mike

  • I had the oportunity to see some of these singers live when we lived in TN. I loved to listen to George Younce especially.

  • why he covers his ear is so he can hear himself kinds to tune himself

  • Why does J.D. Sumner always put his hand over his right ear each time he sings?

  • He does it because for him he sings off key if he don't.

Karen Peck sure sounds like dolly parton.

  • It is a peanuts tie at 36 seconds you can see snoopy

  • I liked the talented country voice of the lady in green, the first MaMa,lol,Her voice reminded me of a strong Patsy Kline, Can you get this group in a cd?

  • love JD's super low bass voice...

  • The world lost a great man when he passed away. I sing bass in barbershop and my vocal range is NOWHERE near as low as JD's was. He was amazing.

  • @DrummerBoy922 but thanks to technology and video tape his legend lives on!

  • @DrummerBoy922 was that the same JD that was a backing singer for elvis presley on his last few tours?

  • @ghawk2005 I have no idea. I hadn't heard of JD until I saw this video.

  • @ghawk2005 Yes, its the same JD that sang with Elvis

  • @stackableg thanks for the reply!!

  • @DrummerBoy922 I will not call myself a bass because of JD's pure talent. I just ignore all these people who say all of his extreme low range was "vocal fry". those notes were from his true vocal range which he was blessed with by God!

  • Thank you Lord for all our blessings.

  • This song will really move you. Makes you feel like you was their when they song this song. GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • This one brings back so many memories, hopefully Little Brother, Mom, and Dad who are all gone on and I will be able to rejoin in song around the throne soon. We never sounded this good, but loved to sing in the car on the way to and from the concerts when I was young. Thanks for posting.

  • I love these particular lyrics : Daddy sang Base...Mamma sang tenor.... Me and little brother would join right in there...I found that so cute

  • dude not cool. there are ladies that sing tenor and bass and they aren't lesbians. It just means that God gave them a deep voise.

  • No sir. I was in band and we performed with the chours and there was some bass singers. Not as low as men, but low for women

  • Karen peck sounds like dolly patron

  • ha ha! i love love that intro. but sonya is just the cutest little thing singing that part. LOL i love to hear her sing.

  • I've watched this video a lot of times and just noticed at about 2:32, Sonya is clapping her hands sort of up-and-down, then the camera cuts to a different angle, and she isn't clapping. Obviously a cut to a different take, and I don't know why I just noticed it now.

  • i never noticed that! thats great!

  • there are cuts all over the place. the performers are constantly sittin and standin.

  • this has just given me goosebumps, I love it x
