Doom and Quake used to be my two favorites...good times.

yeah, it was released in 1996, the graphics raped face, quake had the first fully 3D rendered models and objects. basically, it was the first real 3D fps, unlike doom which used 2d sprites for models and objects. this source port the dude is playing through added the spectral maps to the textures, added all the newer lighting, etc.

the weapons you start with, RedheadMetalC, are an axe, and a shotgun, there is no pistol, i was surprised when i discovered that.

this was the first pc game i played, so many memories
