  • And that children, is what we call tone. Claptons guitar tone was absolutely magic.

  • Are they singing about cocaine ??

  • Horrible mime job that they probably didn't want to do in the first place......but a cool underrated song that deserved a lot more exposure and play than it got

  • thats one stiff face if you know what i mean

  • baker made those drum hum One of the best drummer's ever.

  • theres no "the"...

  • @gibbon1998 yeah who ever heard of "the cream" lmao

  • Can't believe they actually allowed themselves to be filmed whilst mime-synching with a recording.

  • God I love this stuff! Back when people could actually PLAY their instruments rather than dial it in with loops and shit.

  • so great they were so great

  • you can see on eric stiff face what he have been doing

  • But that drum solo bit at 2:09 is superb.

  • But that drum solo bit at 2.09 is superb.

  • @rollinajay That's because Ginger is superman of the drums

  • is clapton trying hide some serious gurning?

  • why does this seem like a parody? I guess its claptons singing mouth

  • @drummer6alphahotel i disagree, i think Derek and the Dominos was his best years, only because of layla of course! ;)

  • ginger looks like cosmo kramer the pimp :-)

  • a toy bear hanging on the...nevermind,i should scroll back up. AMAZING VIDEO!

  • Eric looks coked out of his mind....

  • @banzaillamas agreed, Clapton is off his tits here. good stuff.

  • @banzaillamas It was the 60's. I doubt there was anybody left on the planet who WASN'T off their cake.

  • @banzaillamas hes on another fricking planet...

  • Thanks Youtube and uploaders, without you i would never see stuff this cool......

  • 1:55 Ginger is amused at Claypton's hairdo/lip syncing abilities

  • cool!

  • worst announcer ever

  • LoL

  • nice clothes

  • i dig clapton's head turn 0:22

  • @Simaog999 I dig his grandma hair.

  • @rollinajay thats becuase hes a hero bro

  • cream imortal!!!

  • Gotta love some Ginger Baker.

  • Clapton looks like Austin Powers

  • lip sync LOL

  • Eric clapton looks annoyed on the clip at the end.

  • have anyone else realized that the audio of the song doesnt match what they are playing? they are playing with a backtrack!!!

  • @farishtaleal It`s the studio version,They are just miming to it. You don`t see this practice so much anymore, But since the 50`s this has been a common practice when a band would show up on certain TV programs. You don`t see that done much anymore either, but it was done then as they figured to be on TV would gain them more exposure to a wider audience which may help record sales.

  • Why am I getting a suggestion about recently dscovered elongated skulls?

  • @kokkinoskoufitsa3 I guess they are stressing the the need for big heads LOL

  • @thresher4 bwhahahahaha

  • Ginger Baker is the best!!

  • Jack Bruce is playing a 6 string bass!

  • DO NOT PLUG AMPS IN 220VOLTS PLUG, your hair will look like that.

  • Clapton esta mas duro que el carajo

    XD

  • "i dont understand claptons hair in this video" f**k off, you don't get the doo, you dont deserve the music

  • Qué pena !!! La canción es preciosa, los músicos son de lo mejor, pero Clapton hace playback; Jack que es bajista está "tocando" el bajo con una guitarra. Parecen micos. Ni hablar !

  • Jack Bruce is a freakin bosss!

  • Interesting. Everyone is faking it, of course, but Ginger Baker seems completely lost. He flubs time at 0:31 and 2:20 and doesn't play the fills at 1:50 and 2:03.

  • almost got this song down, you can never have the same innotation as the origional artist but i think im playing it pretty good, im using Songsterr by the way, you have to pay to use all the shit but the shit they give you for free works pretty good.

  • why does it say (the)

  • Awesome band!

  • chrismius - If he hadn't been drinking for about 10 years, he would have stopped drinking at about 10.

  • this is as cool as it gets kids.....everything you know if flawed......FACT!

  • Weird! They are not playing live in this video. Jack Bruce is playing a six string instead of his bass. Jack was a guitar player but when he and Eric formed the band he decided to play bass in the three piece.....very odd video! This is his bass line in the sound track...........

  • @HaightandAshbury Actually Jack was playing a Fender Bass VI which is a six string bass.

  • @LongNoseWhipsnake Actually it is a hybrid between a bass and a guitar - not a true "six-String" bass. They are rare and about $10,000 used at this point. Raw and powerful!

  • Somebody was playing the bass, but I see only two guitarists on stage. The other musician, beside EC, was also playing the guitar, if you will notice. Where is the bass player? I love his bass lines.

  • @enginebooze Bruce ("the other musician") is playing his Fender VI (six-string) bass.

    And this is playback.

  • His mouth reminds me of the wizard of Oz when the munchins start singing

  • I wish I could hear what that actual performance sounded like rather than just the studio version.

  • на хер он этот парик напёр?

  • lovin erics guitar face,groovy.

  • I fucking HATE the way Deve Lee Travis says 'England' when he should be saying BRITAIN. Jack Bruce, being Scottish and not English should've walked over and kicked DLT in the mouth.

  • @ScotRanger1960 : Yeah maybe if their mics were live, they could of told him to fuck off at least.

  • @DieMenschMaschine85 Yeah, or at least Jack could've.

  • claptons put his hair on megafriz!

  • Gotta love Ginger, never misses a beat.

  • Eric is so high in this vid lol its funny and whats so bad about his hair?

  • @Alithecomedian

His hairs fine -so long as you turn off the monitor.

  • everybody is killin eric clapton's hair..what about the damn ascot?

  • @demiseisdue i think it makes him look like a boss. and bakers cape.

  • Can somebody tell me what I was just about to say?

  • uh oh, bad trip... 2:01

  • i love how the announcer is groovin' to the beat

  • tell that to superstray27 haha. nah but i just said i wasnt diggin it. it was just for a short period of a time. he didnt even have that hair style for that whole year. hes had so many different looks over his carreer.

  • Is there any way to get the original audio to this video?

  • erics hair cut...priceless...how good is that druming style...

  • I thought DLT was wearing a woolly hat! lol

Oh dear Mr Clapton; only someone truely talented could look that daft!

  • this is totally lip synched lol

  • WTF BAKER IS PLAYING A GUITAR???? 2:20!!! hahaha playback masters

  • @r4m0n0 its a 6 string bass, bruce was one of the few bass players to play one, its a fender of some sort

  • @r4m0n0 its a 6-string bass called FEDNER VI, he got it painted by The Fool who also painted clapton's SG and Ginger's drum set

  • 01:57 Clapton mouths 'and then you'd be bored,' but the audio comes out 'and wouldn't you be bored.'

  • Or there is another guitar playing in the darkness.

  • playback!!!

  • One of the best 4 groups in Rock'n Roll History...and you know maybe the best at their time...

    Thanks a lot kids...

God bless Eric Jack and Ginger of course

  • What does Jack Bruce has hanging around on the head of his bass. It that a bird?

  • Holy shit! Clapton look like a ponce with that hair. His groupie girlfriend persuaded him? Or he had an affair with his gay hairdresser?

  • @klepzo neither he did it because jimi hendrix had a fro, and clapton was so influenced by him

  • think i prefer casino steeles version (even though he hates it) faster paced made for a different time

  • I know... but I can get past the hair...the music is beyond beyond...

  • Outstanding! Class by themselves!

  • All hail Ginger Baker!!

  • watch?v=46CNp89_52Y

  • What's really strange is that announcers side burns... whew! Great song though

  • Agree. Would have preferred a live rendition. The "Anyone for Tennis" lip-sync from the Smothers Brothers show is also a hoot.

  • Clapton is the best all time, not diggin the hair on him in this one, but he is so underrated as an artist .and thats saying something cause hes ranked pretty high. Clapton ur music will live on forever.

  • @jumpmanJB23 You have to remember these were the days of being 'hairy' - didn't think it so weird at the time ...

  • @jumpmanJB23 underrated? As an artist yes, as a guitar player he's overrated...but don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorites, I've read his auto-bio and I LOVE his 60's style, Amazing artist

  • @Noseheros he is underrated as an artist, but rated right as a guitarist. his pocketing placement of his notes are unmatchable. all his solos fits the songs perfectly, hes the best at that. he always has the perfect tone. plays the perfect note at the perfect time, i seriously dont think hes human. yeah hes definetly NOT overratted as a guitarist. but also amazing song writter.

  • @jumpmanJB23 This is true...but honestly I think the techniques he does are great and iconic of the blues-rock style which he alsmost single-handedly launched...but its not as difficult as say David Gilmour of Pink Floyd or Jimi Hendrix, I love the originality and emotion in Clapton's playing but my top three guitarists are Hendrix, Duane Allman, and Gilmour...but at this level its pretty much opinion, clapton's probably my #4

  • @Noseheros i respect that. my top is clapton, hendrix, SRV. Duane and Gilmore are in my top ten but what order i dont know.

  • @jumpmanJB23 yeah I have so many favorites because they're all different...its like a guitarist gets to a certain point where they just level out and you cant call david gilmour better than duane allman or srv better than hendrix because they're different...in technique and skill level there are differences, but as far as musicianship its quite hard to say

  • @jumpmanJB23 Hes one of my favorites, but as far as talent go, Id have to say hendric, eric johnson, and SRV were better

  • @jumpmanJB23 What the fuck are you talking about...Underrated??? Thats bollocks. Clapton is God

  • @brownweed yes u fuckin retard he is not considered the best artist, therefor underratted(because he is the best artist)

  • @brownweed yes he is underratted because he is not considered by all as the best artist and he IS the best...... i think you get overrated mixed up with underrated......

  • @jumpmanJB23 Clapton is the absolute shittiest lip-synch of all times. He makes Milli-Vanilli look good! And I bet he watches this and laughs his ass off at the hair and clothes.

  • @jumpmanJB23 Honestly, I loved his hair in this.

  • @jumpmanJB23 ............3rd best all time; #2 best all time- Jimmy Page; #1 best all time- Jimi Hendrix..........There is NO room for discussion here-----If any of you youngsters disagree with this then you need to ASK YOUR DADDY ABOUT THIS because obviously you have NO CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................

  • @MaloBreeze no way Page was good in the studio not live. not saying he was bad live but not as good. thats what seperates him and Clapton. Eric best live player ever. top 4 EC, Jimi, Duane, SRV period. the order may vary but def top 4

  • @jumpmanJB23 have you seen him live? obviously not. insane 10 minute + improv solos on each song i dont consider "not good live"

  • @wagz420 sorry man but if you find me a good live stairway to heaven then we can talk but ive watched live four versions and not impressive to say the least. and the length of the solos mean nothing its the content.

  • @jumpmanJB23 know any other songs than stairway? LOL

  • @wagz420 yes actually I do know a lot of Zep songs but if you cant play your best song live why would i look up any other? (achilles last stand was actually pretty good live). and i guess that was a no on you cant find any good live stairway to heaven versons.

  • I love claptons music, especially around this era and what he's done with the guitar but BY-GOD he's a wanker, i read his autobiography, not only a terrible read but literally makes the guy out to be obsessed with materialism.

I'll stick with Rory Gallagher the underrated God of guitar in his time

  • Clapton flunks lip-sync 101

  • @Stephanjnj he didnt have a lot of practice with it. he is used to actually singing. when they told him to lip sync he was probably unconfortable with it if u couldnt tell.

  • Anybody noticed the anouncer at the end when he says:'' we will be chatin' we will be eatin', we will be Drinkin''. Clapton then laughed at him because the anouncer didn't know that he wasn't drinking anymore for the last 10 years or so, before that interview.

  • @chrismiuz Saw that too. Clapton is sober as a nun now.

  • WAY TOO GROOVY!!!!

  • Lmao the drummer looks like a knight lol

  • Eric looks a little odd with the frizz 'do.' I don't like the dangling critter on Jack's guitar either.

  • oh wow haha i LOVE this clip lmaoo

  • man Ginger look out of it

  • The way the anouncer waks away is EPIC. lol

  • @LEGIONARIO1970

    LMAO!!!!

  • MrPadraic23, how perfect a comment...

  • Love Cream. But the lip-sync here is SO freakin BAD!

  • VH1 existed back then? nice

  • music today just doesnt compare

  • Superstray: Your magnificent ignorance is unforgiveable; absolutely unforgiveable.

  • who is the fluffbag presenting?

  • @p1nkAcid Dave Lee Travis

  • @p1nkAcid Dave Lee Travis, well known UK DJ.

  • @BrianBeuken Yes indeed. A very young "DLT" there. One of the great DJ's of our country.

  • it looks like he has a scar on his cheek...

  • exelente cancion

  • love this song.

  • *****

  • The reason that there are no goups today like there were in the 60's is because none of them can play like those dudes back in the day.

  • @MrJuanlennon give me a few years, i'm trying to change that.....

  • @3166TV You look like your well on your way young man! You play a kick ass guitar!!!

  • @MrJuanlennon thank you! im glad that there is finally someone out there that also wants rock and roll to be brought back to life! i'm sick of all the hip-hop and rap today...

  • eliminando comentarios?

  • Ah, we knew what cool was back then! Hiphuggers and platform soles made a comeback, it's only a matter of time before we once again see young men sporting the paisley ascot! >:D

  • For the 7 people that disliked this song. Go f*ck yourself. I'm 23 and have respect for the music surrounding this generation.

  • @143NuLif3 Well said! This is a classic track. Music from my folks generation. It's still as great today as it was back then. Sad to see the state of today's mainstream crap, when compared to things like this.

  • @143NuLif3 its a cool song man i love it

  • i see here bruce is playing what appears to be some kind of a fender jaguar, it was only promo video or whatever, but what bothers me i've seen quite some pictures of bruce holding that guitar, especially the early BBC sessions... it bothers me...

  • @lipi29 It´s a Jaguar baritone guitar

  • what's the name of the bass player?

  • Clapton formed Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. A second super group, the short-lived Blind Faith (1969), was composed of Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood of Traffic and Ric Grech of Family. Clapton assembled Derek and the Dominoes with Delaney & Bonnie's former rhythm section; Bobby Whitlock keyboardist, vocalist Carl Radle, bassist and drummer Jim Gordon, and Clapton.

  • I think it is playback ^.^'

  • I've never really been a Beatles fan, but Cream were the dogs bollox they were the real sound of the 60's

  • beware - lip synching

    still fun though...

  • they are all so sexy

  • EXCELENT!!! OH, MAN THIS IS THE SONG!! TODAY WE LIVIN' IN A DESERT, EMPTY OF GOOD MUSICIANS AND IDEAS!!

  • i love cream and this song but the logo at the start looks like a turd

  • i just love that clothes

  • Clapton look pissed at the end. In all honesty I would be to-out of all the coolclips they choose the one with the embarrassing hair and lipsynch

  • ESE BATERISTA ESTA QUE LA ROMPE! ESTA QUE SE ALOCA CON LA BATERIA, YA MISMO LAS ROMPE. JAJAJAA

  • Clapton's hair is unforgivable

  • @SuperStray27 Was he hanging around Billy Preston then?

  • @SuperStray27 what a mess

  • The greatest guitarist!! Thanks for posting!

  • are they lip syncing?

  • Theyre not really playin live here, only ginger maybe on drums. If you look close you can tell eric and jack arent really playing or singing. A lot of those old music variety shows have bands mime the music while they play the recorded track.. i guess to make them sound perfect. Its kind of cheap, i wish they were playing live awesome song. you can see that clapton seems like he wants to be playing live too. yea shizukesa... definate coke jaw going there at the end hahaha

  • @mike72887 i have a hunch that its because they didnt want them singing sertain things that they didnt want them to say. kinda like when they told jim morrison not to say higher when they played light my fire. but idk. i know alot of shows did that alot after the 60's especially "top of the pops".

  • @mike72887 There are tons of things wrong with this video, and as follows...

1.Eric's lip-syncing, and no of them are playing there instruments, especially Ginger Baker - 1:51-.

    2. Jack isnt even playing a bass. hes playing a guitar like a bass.

    3. the the hell is that bird-thing on jack's guitar?

    4. Clapton's hair. Enough said.

And 5. There using Selmer amps. No one uses Selmer amps. Especially Cream at the height of their commercial success.

But it's okay, because it's a music video.

  • @stewartcopeland13 and I don't think they had "wireless" guitars and amps back then either...lol no guitar cords...lol
