The touch experience is different for everyone, and I would expect it to be hard for someone with fat fingers and a pessimistic attitude.... just sayin.
@Jkouw At least it's better than the iPad which has a capacitive touchscreen with no inking capability. I find it humorous watching my classmates using those pogo "crayon" styluses to write while trying to rest their hand on the bezel to avoid vectoring.
Resistive screen = fingernails. Which I find I can press smaller buttons more accurately than the broad of my finger which I have to use on capacative screens.
This is a really nice netbook. I absolutely love mine...A tad disappointed that I'll need to upgrade the OS. Seems they should include an OS that allows one to use all the features. I got mine cheap on ebay and it's perfect so when I get paid, I will upgrade the OS and all will be happy.
My point is that ASUS could have included the upgraded OS with this...but touch screen is great...all in all it's awesome. I may even attempt to run Ubuntu or Meego if I can get touch features to work. :)

What you pay is what you get. If I buy a 2011 Toyota Sienna for $24,250, and then I buy a 2011 Mercedes GL 550 for $84,250; for sure, the Mercedes GL 550 will be much better than a garbage Japanese made Toyota Sienna in terms of luxury, features, speed, and performance. So what you pay is what you get. And you are complaining that the tablet lacks this and that.
Well, for what it is, I think that obviously you give up on having a faster netbook, and you give up on having a better tablet, but for sub 500$, tell me one combination where you get a tablet and a decent netbook for 500$ our the door?
How can you complain so much about a resistive touchscreen on a Tablet PC? I'd hate a capacitive touchscreen on a Tablet PC, because you can't use pens, and, as LiweiCai already said, you can accidentally click something much more easily (which is one of the reasons the iPad sucks, but it's not even a PC, although it's as expenisve as a PC).
I own a T101MT since April. With extra ram and an upgrade to HP, Professional or Ultimate all her complaints are moot.
Try one finger scrolling. It works in almost all programs, even those not designed for touch, also Firefox right out of the box. 1 finger, it's an option in the OS you complained about.
Penwrite....it makes the Pen work better. It makes using your finger impossible since it activates palm rejection. Did you actually use it?
People need to understand that you don't actually need to press THAT hard on resistive screens. I actually prefer resistive compared to capacitive because it is less likely to press something by accident. Complaining about the "touch experience" just seems like an excuse for the inability to learn.
You're reviewing T100MT like it's an iPad which of course it isn't. Some people do need the ability to make serious notes with a stylus and not a finger. IMO being able to write with a stylus is the strength of this tablet which is seriously overlooked in this biased review.
You can get a copy of Windows for pretty cheap if you know how to get them (student discounts, other special offers). How is this compared to the Viliv Blade (besides being a little thinner, it has a nice graphics card) but I can't justify spending $700 for that machine (but I did anyways)
she should review the T101 with standard windows 7 installed. with the full version on it and none of the junk software- this thing literally becomes pretty awesome.
Joanna, you know better than to call something "flaky". The pinch-to-zoom and handwriting features are "laggy" due to the Atom processor and low amount of RAM. I also would not expect a capacitive display with palm rejection on a $499 device. I agree that ASUS shouldn't promote a multi-touch product and then not ship a full version of Windows 7, but most of us have a copy laying around somewhere. Maybe you forgot that this is a convertible netbook and not a Lenovo X201T, Dell XT2, or HP 2740p.

Is there someone that successfully added new customized icons to Touch Gate? For example, adding a Firefox Icon? Thank you.

Why do companies always give their reviews to employees who don't know shit about the product or the technology behind it?

I got my t101mt now for 1 month. and it's awsome....
it's the 2GB version with the 320GB HD and windows 7 home premium.
In the Netherlands it costs about 420 euros.
I think the biggest problem of this machine is not it's performance but that
everbody wants to steal it........ :-)
2 collegeas of mine got the Ipad but thats really a toy compared to the t101mt.
