  • great song..

  • may fav song

  • what a great lyrics and music. Rendition by Moh. Rafi is mediocre.

  • my right ear enjoyed this song very much!

  • awesome song

  • Rafi saheb is the Boss . He is the king . He is the God of music. will Never get that voice again.

Oh God why did you took him away from us.

  • mann gaye ustad....... rest in peace....

  • What a loving and heart /soul touching voice was of Rafi sahib & Mukesh shahib one & one soul came on earth and for years n years ago no one listener will forget him. I hope till the Universe lives in planet. They and there voice will be remain and echo .

  • You would realize that only Janab Rafi Sahab could sing this song so better, with deep emotions & according to the situation....

  • ja leuk

  • Rafi was the best. Mukesh was Great.

The two best playback singers we have seen.

For those who do not know, Manna Dey, a great singer himself, has humbly said that in spite

of all his efforts, he could never reach the levels of Rafi or Lata.

Even KK knew that Rafi Sahab was a class apart.

    All recorded in videos.

  • Rafi sa'ab ... jitni taareef karein ... utni kam hai .... you were marvelous ....

  • @ramaraksha01......... Manna Dey, Kishore, Mukesh are also legends who have given us endless hit songs. All are great singers and I love them all. Looking at things subjectively, it mainly depends on one's choice. But when you look at objectively, then Rafi surely takes the cake!

Don't look at which yester-year-singer the media is promoting these days. Go with the facts and you can never be wrong.

  • @ramaraksha01......... There is a reason why Rafi has always overshadowed Mukesh, Kishore and Manna dey amongst others. Kishore's fame surfaced only during early 70s, after which Rafi was back in the scene. And after Rafi's demise it was his voice-clones that flooded the industry.

  • @ramaraksha01......... if Rafi is your favourite singer, then I think it is now time to get acquainted with history attached to this legendary singer. Rafi is a singer who did not need a microphone to sing along an orchestra. Many many articles about him will vouch for this fact. I don't know where you get the information that his voice ever drowned.

  • If I am not mistaken, lyrics are by Rajinder Kishan and music by LP and the magic of Rafi saheb's unmatched singing prowess. The film was made by RK Nayyar - Sadhana's hubby

  • this song is very sweet........!!

  • what an expression i heard sonu's version to this song dosen't even come close how could rafi sing this so perfectly please someone tell me how?

  • @joshuadiesel Hi friend. We cannot compare anyone with Rafi saab. He is the sun. Without him you have darkness all over. Yes, you can then look out for the moon. But even the poor moon depends on the sun to project light onto us. You are then reduced to man made light. Rafi was not an ordinary singer. Not even him knew exactly how good he was. And as time goes, we come to realize his greatness. Its only when you are in a place where there is no sun that you really recognise its value.

  • @Sholay48 when u rank singers by pure singing ability - then it's - Manna Dey, Rafi, Kishore & Mukesh. But if "manly" or "sexy" voice is ur choice then the order would be - Mukesh, Kishore, Manna Dey & Rafi

Rafi voice does not go up much - he was good when the music stayed in the background & prominence was given to the singer. Later on, the music got louder & poor Rafi's voice got drowned out

  • @ramaraksha01 As to who is one's best singer depends a lot on one's choices, likes and dislikes and to a large extent one's own prejudices. I can read that Rafi does not stand a chance in your book. I judge a singer on the impact he has on the singing world and in my own life. I grew up in Rafi's era. He needs no introduction. It seems that Manna D fits your choice of your best singer. I have to respect that. I can see your satisfaction when you describe that "Poor Rafi's voice got drowned out"

  • @ramaraksha01 And if I may add. I cannot see where his voice got drowned out. Your statement is unsubstantiated. I do not know how much you are in touch with his later songs, or even with his songs. He has sang hundreds of songs with all the greatest musicians in Indian cinema. Few examples are SJ, Naushad, both the Burmans, Madan Mohan, L&P, Ravi, Roshan, OPN, Usha K etc. He has thousands of hits. SJ's music was loud and I cannot see any problems he had. He even sang loud ones with RD Burman.

  • @Sholay48 Actually Rafi IS my favorite singer, Mukesh a close second. But most music pundits agree that when it comes to sheer classical singing, Manna Dey is the best. Mukesh, of course, had no training whatsover, he just had a good voice

Rafi's voice is very good for soft songs, music that stayed in the background as most of the songs in the 50's & 60's did, but in the 70's the music got steadily louder, sad to say

Listen to the songs of the 70's like say the Bachann starrer - Parvarish

  • @ramaraksha01

Mohammad Rafi performed at Saigal show in Lahore after electricity cut. His friends say that his voice was so powerful it was reaching all of the crowd.

Lata in her interviews mentioned that Rafi range and vocal ability was immense.

Manna Dey said that the way Rafi saab used throw this voice no one has ever been able to it.

In recording terms if some does not have a loud voice you can adjust the mixer.

Mr you dont know what you are talking about.

You may like another singer !

  • @ramaraksha01

Ha ha ha ... You really don't know much about music and singing do you? What manly and sexy voice? Don't give stupid reasons. I don't know who'll be able to sing for you if you think Rafi's voice got drowned out, and also don't know which music Pandit's you are talking about. There was only one singer who was able to sing for the main character when Baiju bawra was being made - for someone who could defeat Tansen.... not everyone can sing like that....

  • @psoni6 the mark of an adult is the ability to take criticism, maybe u are still a child? Just because u admire someone does not mean he or she is perfect. It's called growing up

  • @ramaraksha01

We are not talking about me, you or some other common man. We are talking about Md. Rafi. You say about 'most music pandits' agreeing to what you believe. A mature and adult mind doesn't "create" false reasons to support his arguments - he gives facts. Can you cite references for your statement about music pandits? What the other people said, they all have references about them - means they are valid arguments. Or you consider yourself as the set of 'most music pandits'?

  • cool cooler coolest.
