My point is that too much range isn't an issue, so long as she can match Ronan, which, maybe she can, I don't know, she may have to change her style a bit... I can sort of hear it in my head...ish...it would be very interesting...but so long as she can match Ronan, she could have a one octave monotone voice or a six octave super voice, so long as she can pull off the right notes, she just has to not use the rest. So...no such thing as too much range.

Yes. Evanescence was goth right up until Amy's fans raised her into mainstream recognition.
First time on TV, she said she wasn't goth and denied everyone who put her there. Any surprise their music turned to crap and they were forgotten in another few months by their beloved new mainstreamers. Evanescence is now firmly back in the gutter where they belong.

I love VNV Nation they are genuis. The biggest problem I have with this video is that the video and the song are completely unrelated. Evanescense and VNV Nation are two completely different bands.

Evanescence is NOT a great band. Lack of originality in the music, Amy Lee's vocals lack any depth or passion. Why the hell would you mix these 2? Another reason Evanescence bothers me is because with their fame in the U.S. it was prior the overdue rise in notoriety for Lacuna Coil and thus people in comparing the two when not knowing truth of the matter, want to think LC would credit Ev. as inspiration or something...

No such thing as too much range, if VNV is in her range, then she can sing it, she just has to not use the rest of her range, that's all.
I think it would be quite interesting to hear Amy Lee do some VNV, but I don't think it would VNV without Ronan's voice.

I can see what yo mean. It's a valid point.
My point is that too much range isn't an issue, so long as she can match Ronan, which, maybe she can, I don't know, she may have to change her style a bit... I can sort of hear it in my head...ish...it would be very interesting...but so long as she can match Ronan, she could have a one octave monotone voice or a six octave super voice, so long as she can pull off the right notes, she just has to not use the rest. So...no such thing as too much range.
