I like how in this add, at least in the first half, McCain truthfully reports Obama's statements in appropriate context, but just hopes that we are too stupid to realize he is right. lol. The worst thing that every happened in Canada is our free health care system. By the way it is not free, our taxes are about double what you pay in the States. I'm not against drilling. I'm against those who point to the high price of gas and say that drilling will lower the cost. We need petroleum for a variety of applications... Using nearly all of it to create gasoline to fuel our vehicles without actively pursuing an alternative that already exists is idiocy. We need to use wisely what little domestic petroleum we have left. Our country once led the world in technology and ingenuity. Why do we remain shackled to the internal combustion engine?

Unless we pursue renewable energy NOW as if it were the Space Race, the United States will reach a point where there is no longer enough oil to sustain civilization in its present form. Clearly, a comprehensive national oil savings strategy is the only real way to ensure America's energy security.

Actually I agree with that person it's one of the better ones I've seen. It's mostly factual about his positions and focuses on policy. You're right Obama's ads are better because he does talk about his plans, but at least it's a step in the right direction. Maybe he'll eventually get around to ads about his own policies. It amounts to nothing when the calculations are done, and gas companies would just raise prices so it would be really meaningless. Those are examples of McCain pretending he has a solution to the problems.

McCain has an energy plan that will free us of middle east oil. We have more resources than all of the middle east. We need to use all of them, Nuclear, off shore drilling, oil shale, wind and solar. Think of the jobs these energy programs will create, we will be energy independent with the strongest economy in the world.
Obama's energy plan: inflate your tires and keep sending $70 billion a year to the countries that want to kill us.

what i meant was a person who claims to be decent, but instead of actually being that, they sit around and trash others, it would be one thing if they talked face to face and mccain said these things, but he twists things around and takes things out of context. it would be one thing if he made claims, in context to show why baraks plans won't work, he does not do that. he is low. like a child playing "you can't prove it" games. he has a platform to tell me how his ways are better. why doesnt he?

It's amazing McCain wasted money on this steaming pile of an ad. It is childish and flat wrong, especially now that Obama has made it clear he would ALWAYS accept some compromise on offshore drilling. That doesn't change the fact that it will not affect oil prices for 10-15 years. McCain has voted to renew the drilling ban virtually every year since G.H. Bush imposed it. He is also lying about Nuclear. Obama supports it, but without McCain's corporate giveaways. McCain is such a tool!
