I hated how they didnt show up to marks funeral or even mention him in season 15. Mark was best friends with doug and great friends with carol (helping her alot in season 5@6)

Ah! I caught a plot hole at 5:26. When Doug is asking Neela and Sam if some of the people he worked with at County were still there, he asks about Susan Lewis. This would not make sense. Susan left midway thru season 3 and did not return until season 8. Doug left at the end of season 5, so as far as he knows Susan does not work there anymore.

@KaliReneeful My point is, Susan left while he was there. So it would not make logical sense for him to ask about someone who, as far as he knows, wasnt there anymore. He was long gone by the time she came back in 2001.

@RDMacQ part of george clooney's return agreement was that they would not use him in any promotional footage or on any other materials (as he is not seen on the cover of the 15th DVD set either). he did the return out of respect of the fans, but didn't want there to be big hooplah.

I miss ER and both Doug and Carol together. You know, I look at Jack Bauer and Renee Walker on 24 the same way I look at Doug and Carol, in the good way. Sadly, it ended on the sad way when Renee was killed off in the final season of 24 and that made me stopped watching 24. Still, Doug and Carol are the best. Wonder if some people look at Jack and Renee the same way they look at Doug and Carol.

Clooney and Margulies either turned down the offer to reprise their roles, their salary demands were beyond budget limitations or the budget didn't allow for it, or John Wells (the executive producer and show runner) did not approach them to appear in the episode feeling it was not neccessary or that it would distract from the focus of Mark's passing (and Anthony Edwards' graceful exit from the series).

i was halfway through a drink when carol hathaway walked through the door and when i saw her i spit everything in my mouth all over the screen. definitely a worthy moment. these two were the first star-crossed lovers of the show, and it was a nice way to finally end their story and that of the show.
