  • I wonder how many Doctors they'll bring back for the 50th? They might have to get new actors for1,2,3. Maybe even Tom Baker.

  • dude. think about what you are going to say then say it, also say you words better you sound so stupid no offence

  • Watching Ecceleson in retrospect, he was brilliant as the Doctor.

  • i hope your know your wrong with all this he left becuase he wanted to do something different !

  • Karen Jillan? it's Gillan!

P.S. Not trying to offend you, just pointing something out

  • @taylorskz Several people have commented to him on this mistake.

Seriously... it's just a name. Who cares?

That's like attakking me for making a typo. It's no big issue or deal...

  • I'm not surprised that 92% of people disliked this. Here's another dislike for the most boring video ever. I only clicked on it because it had a picture of Matt Smith on it.

  • god sake what a waste of time. Your not a critic, your clearly too young to do this

  • CE agreed to launch the show but only do one series, the BBC press office messed up by revealing his departure ahead of time so it created a climate of "regeneration speculation" during the entire run of Series One which was not in the interests of actor.

  • I have been a fan of the show since the 70's. Tom Baker was my doctor as a kid, but after seeing Eccleston, Tennant, and Matt Smith in the new series, I can honestly say that Billie Piper was the suprise lynchpin of the first two seasons of the new Who. I can also honestly say that I think Matt Smith will be better than any of them when his time is done.

  • Eccleston was my first Doctor.

Tennant will forever be MY Doctor.

  • Awesome! I am the top comment ^_^ I should get an award.

  • I liked Eccleston best of all the doctors (just my opinion, of course). I was sorry he left after only one season, but fully his choice, for whatever reason. The show has always been about new doctors and no episode gets a higher rating than when a doctor changes. Still, I'd have liked to have seen at least 2 more seasons with Eccleston. He was a great doctor. Best of the Best. Who will ever forget the line: "Hello Rose. I'm the Doctor. Run for your life!"

  • Thank you for the misleading thumbnail asshole

  • He left because he didn't want to be typecast. It's never been a big mystery. That's ALWAYS been what it was about ever since day one. He loved playing the Doctor, and he loved working with Russell T. Davies. You should probably find some better sources.

  • Your wrong about eccleston leaving! He left because he didnt want to be known as the doctor. He said he really likes Russell T Davies and that he did it to bring the show back and he thought one series would do that. So HAHA!

  • Eccelston has also stated, that he would be in the 50th Anniversary, if, and only if, it was done for charity.

What was with the whistle at the end? Geesh!!!

  • i heard on an interview WITH ECCLESTON HIMSELF that he left because he just wanted to make way for the next doctors. the video is the second to top video on the related video list beside. click on Eccleston on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary.

  • and yourknowledge of all htis comes from....

  • @GravesRWFiA isnt it obvious? he is just reading off the internet

  • is it just me or did anyone else fall asleep??

  • DARTH VADER DESPERATELY WANT'S HIS LIGHTSABER BACK.........WAIT, THATS THE DISLIKE BAR!!!

  • @SmintsGirl Your voice if bludy annoying. But good point

  • ha karen jillan. she's amazing :) don't diss her

  • amazing how annoying your voice and way of talking is..

  • You got it allrightish!! no offense, but it was a bit boring...

  • Complete & utter bollocks. I've covered DOCTOR WHO as a journalist since 1979. When BBC announced the return of the series, I was the lead reporter for some of the US-based outlets. Eccleston never intended to stay beyond the first series and it was one of the reasons RTD offered him the part in the first place. That first series back had to serve as a re-introduction to the part of the audience who watched the original run of DR. WHO as well as an introduction to the Whoniverse (continued)

  • .. for an entire generation who only knew the series as pop culture history. That first series had to showcase the main concepts as well as elements that were expected like the Daleks. One of the major concepts the audience expected to see was the Doctor regenerating, a perfect way to showcase that event would be the season finale. If you watch that first series of the 21st century run of DOCTOR WHO it's obvious that this Doctor isn't going to be around for long.

  • @akathekjb THUMBS UP!!!

  • Eccleston's portrayal of the Doctor suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder thanks to the Time War made the character self-destructive to the point that, had the situation to save Rose by transferring the time/space vortex into his own body not happened, he would have found some other excuse to regenerate to distance himself from the still raw emotional wounds from his having to destroy Gallifrey and end the war.

  • he shes he not coming back very clealy

  • TheSoundDoctor61 are you deaf? He's obviously Northern Irish 14/15 year old putting on an accent to sound older and more dramatic in his role as DoctorWhoBoy - leave off with your abuse!

  • wrong he left because his father was sick do you resherch next time

  • @tonykuklok and if you read the papers, the uploader is right... Maybe CE Father was sick and did contribute 2 him only doing 1 season, but the behind the scenes politics was the big decider for him choosing 2 leave. Though in my opinion I think he said that 2 cover his arse, he was so enthusiastic about Dr Who when it first was announced, then once it hit the TV, the critics panned it, so he said "I quit", then the love for the series picked up as series went on but 2 late 4 him to back track

  • @Cryten1974 That sounds absolutely reasonable.

  • OH! SOMEONE SHUT THAT UP!! AMericans/Canadians what ever thinking they know about a show that is british born! I was a fan probebly befor your parents were born!! so be quiet little boy and speak when spoken to!! The Dr Who Kid indeed............I do not think so

  • he left because he didnt just want to be known for doctor who

  • Some of you are onto the right idea, but the true reason he only did one season was that he wanted to challenge himself. In an interview, he states that he was taught to do the things that scare you most, and in that respect, being Doctor Who was a huge gamble for him. He personally thought he was not funny or charming, two major aspects of Doctor Who and that is why he agreed to try it out. Within twenty years he has had over fifty roles.. he moved on, to find more challenges. Truth. Like it.

  • @ProducerSkeleton I found him charming and funny! Every doctor is unique in his own way and although he was a bit different from the other doctors I still loved him so much. He might even be my favorite doctor.

  • @Plottoberry He IS charming and funny! He just didn't personally think so. And he thought wrong :)

  • @ProducerSkeleton You really think that's the reason? If this is true, then we will probably see him again uniting with the other two? Am I right? What do you think? (By the way, too many questions, right? Another question...lol)

  • @Phaedrusgr I'm not sure if we'll see him as Doctor Who ever again, but if so, it would definitely get me back into the show. Honestly, I lost interest about halfway through the Tenth Doctor. Chris was the BEST.

  • @ProducerSkeleton Really? You think that Tennant was boring or something like that? Believe me, I do adore Eccleston, but 10th is definitely my Doctor. Anyway, Eccleston is an incredible actor and he managed to revive the whole show! That's why I'd love to see him coming back. Well, you made me sad (not that sad, I'll keep living ;) )

  • He left because of the way he felt he was being treated on the show.. :S

  • actually, he only ever wanted to do 1 series to make it popular when it was brought back

  • The Ninth doctor was ok. He was cool in his own way. I liked his jacket. I still think that his character was a bit too angsty. I mean, I guess they did that because they wanted him to have a character that showed the audience more of the new plot (which focuses a lot on the Doctor and how he feels bad about destroying his planet). Personally, I prefer the more upbeat characters. Thats why I like the eleventh Doctor lot. He actually is fairly similar to the second Doctor's personality.

  • KILL IT...KILL IT NOW!!!!

  • no that's not it, he didn't want to be typecasted, he may not have gotten along with people, but thats because he was a dick on set.

  • Erm you know in an interview he said he didn't want to be forever cast typed in the sci-fi area.... so yeah lol

  • no it's true, I saw that he left because he didn't want to stay on because of moral qualms, in a written interview online somewhere ... it was an official site. Makes me sad that it's like that, but I have so much respect for him!

  • No, Its because he didnt want to do it anymore...

  • Total crap! The reason Eccleston left was bcuz they only wanted him 2 do a series return thingy

  • You keep saying Gillan wrong. Retard.

  • @SmintsGirl there was no need for that :o friggin hectic

  • @DaDoctorWhoKidd there was every need for that

  • @DaDoctorWhoKidd I agree, no need for insults, there was a time when i wasnt sure how to pronounce freema's sirname, agyeman til i heard her say it

  • @Loverboy19691 I was worse! I thought her name was "Agatha Freeman"!!! *blushes*

  • @DaDoctorWhoKidd Do you even know what hectic means?

For someone with the name DaDoctorWhoKidd, you don't know how to pronounce Karen's name. Sorry, but I agree with SmithsGirl.

  • @SmintsGirl i know he said jillan

  • Tick tock goes the clock And what now shall we play? Tick tock until the day That thou shalt marry me? Tick tock goes the clock And all the years they fly. Tick tock and all too soon You and I must die. Tick tock goes the clock We laughed at fate and mourned her. Tick tock goes the clock, He cradled her and he rocked her. Tick tock goes the clock Even for the Doctor. Doctor, brave and good he turned away from violence, when he understood the falling of the silence.

  • @zpwner11 Tick tock goes the clock untill the river kills the doctor.

  • @zpwner11 I watched that b4 i went 2 bed (around 12:00 am) and slept like a baby :D jks it freaked the crap outta me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @smores004Hannah Haha lol doctor who is getting scarier and more actioney if you know what i mean

  • eccleston left because all he wanted to do was get the ball rolling, he diesn't do things for the money like most actors, he son't let his signiture be sold for profit (as he said in a dr who 50th anniversary possible return interview) He left because he fulfilled his aims at making it a success and getting the ball rolling for future actors and audiences. Plus DW is not his usual scene, he only joined because RTD was writing it

  • whats the image at 1.00 ? is that just edited

  • @Michaelrulesos Nuuuu...that is The Tardis Security protocol - It's from the last episode of the season.

  • @TheLittleRabidHobbit I thought so but wasn't sure because the jacket looks bigger than the one he wore, thx

  • nice
