  • Rowan is a WEAK leader, as a member of the Anglican Communion and only living in England recently and attending many Church of England churches I was disguised and in shock at what I seen.

The Church is failing its people, I would consider very few Church of England's now to be Reformed, Evangelical or Protestant in nature. There is to much focus on Roman rituals even Latin services in some places now.

No wonder the Church is falling in numbers..time to wake up and change for the better!

  • SO... Since when, Archbishop, is it all right for the church to follow the world and the spirit of the age in clear deviance from the Holy Scriptures and Anglican Traditions? We are to be in the world, yes... but NOT of it... Never lowering the bar in submission to those around us desparately in need of a savior, yet constantly satiating themselves with the lies and appeasements of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

  • We are to represent a difference from the world and those around us, as souls rescued from darkness by our Lord's marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9) Why do you think the Apostle Paul Said to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers? and in the same chapter, he quoted from Isaiah, in the old Testament and said "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord"? And the Apostle James, who said that friendship with the world is emnity with God? Archbishop Williams, you are accountable to God.

  • Rowen Williams is NOT a Christian. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing....

  • I don't envy Rowan his job at all.

  • jme1976, that is a huge statement! Have you read Rowan Williams' writings on the Resurrection. I would say he is a Christian and pursuing the peace of Jesus Christ for the Church and society, and even so, wow, that is a huge statement!

  • I love rowan because in his early work you can see his love of liberal theology, watered down a bit. his fight against orthodoxy and his support of less mainstream beliefs

  • @xpo50 fight against orthodoxy? Early works? I see his early works, including his phd thesis, as an affirmation of orthodoxy, and in particular Eastern Orthodoxy.

  • Anything but the gospel...Wesley, Spurgeon and Whitfield would make mince meat of these guy's. We NEED biblical preachers instead of clergy that don't know God.

  • @jme1976 Amen

  • @jme1976 But JESUS wouldn't make mincemeat of them. And who are you to judge who knows GOD and who does not? Why do people keep judging this dude, as if they have somehow earned their status of "Christianity", and are kicking Rowan out of the club? Brothers, there is no club. You did nothing to get here, and you have no place to tell others that they don't know GOD.

  • @bobsquat

Firstly I consider myself the lowliest maggot. Scripture tells us to discern inside the church and not to judge the world - but give them the gospel.

Do we here the man standing up for the great tenents of Christianity, and its life changing message?

  • @bobsquat

The question is rather do we hear the man standing up for the great truths of christianity and its life changing message?
