Don't worry, if you were in an elevator when this happened it would only recall to the ground level and you could push a button to have the smoke guard rise for a short time to let you out.
Oh my gosh this is so cool. I would hate the be in a room or in an elevator when everything closes. They should put stopper stations with horns over the pull stations.
