Thanks for posting this, I went into my garage to do some laundry, and this shiny black, highly aggressive flying insect that looked exactly like the wasp in this video, came swooping in, and actually chased me. Soon after this, I discovered that there where several of these wasp building nests that looked like someone threw a chunk of mud on my wall and left it to try. I've looked all over trying to find out about them.
You named it wrong...the name implies the spider stings a wasp and is parasitic...So Spider stinging wasp is more accurate - (I was particularly looking for a stinging spider)
i see....she just stings 'em....freakin biatch!!!! I know that it's a female because it lays eggs on it and then the larvae eat away at the still live fluffy spider... :( po wido spida
Parasitic wasps reproduce WAY TOO MUCH, so it would be basically impossible for them to go extinct. At least not right now. They are barely even a Least Concern. So get your facts straight before you post a comment based on no facts whatsoever.
Theese wasps has a strong paralyzing venom, which they inject into their victims so that they can easily be dragged away and used as nests for their eggs.
When the eggs hatch, the larvae feed on the spider while it's still alive.
I don't think they have ever been seen laying eggs inside a human body...
@MrBummelum There are parasitic insects that inject their eggs into humans...and several at a time. In fact, one man had 90 or so of the insects larvae injected into him...they had to squeeze each one out (If you don't they FEED on you and it is very irritating, painful and itchy) from small lumps where you can tell where they were injected. Thank god they aren't around where I live (They're not usually found in North America).

Wasp looks like a "steel blue cricket hunter" if so they vary their diet. Yes they sting and it gets your attention.

Our skin is too tough for the wasp eggs to grow thru... They would just stay in our skin and sufficate...
TheCollegeboi18 2 years ago
besides the wasps go after bugs with silk glands like spiders and caterpillars so they could wrap their web around the wasp's larva for protection
SantosC310 2 years ago

The wasp only lays eggs in things that the larvea can eat. Besides, the has to stun its target first.

That was like a rapid fire. He could've stung that spider about 30 times.

Is this a parasitic wasp? Why is it called that it looks like some kind of hybrid between an ant and a wasp.
