Stealth technology is classified. Simply put, AA and radar use waves to track their targets. If you send out waves and they don't reflect back, then there is nothing there. When a wave hits a plane, it is reflected back to radar to show the planes location. Stealth is the act of stopping waves from returning to that point. F-117 has a unique shape that reflect the waves to other directions, rather then back to the radar. The B2 has special paint that absorbs waves and other gear too.

(cant remember when ti was) but that was 1.2 billion dollars just down the drain. after that they have been retired for "show of". they are still used in afghanistan. (mostly at the first 2-4 months as they were carpet bombing the taliban forces.) and its been used a little bit in libya. so its basically only used in "Emergencies"

the stealth of the stealth plane works like this:
1, its matte black so the radar waves dont bouce off it, so the radar cant tell where it is.
2. its engines are inside the plane and its got something to reduce the heat so a heat seeking missile finds it very difficult to find the plane.
3.its got as less flat surfaces as possible to the radar waves dont bouce off it...they get absorved instead, thats about it!
