In the '70s, I repeatedly saw this same moving background pattern but with a different, lighthearted synthesizer musical track. And on the screen, the wording was: "NOW PLAYING / CONSOLIDATED'S VARSITY THEATER".
Sorry amcvaughn but 'spelt' is a word. But what the heck, we all know what dr1947 meant. Anyway, what a trip back in time. Anyone remember Childrens Film Foundation? What great times at the pictures were had, when we stood up and cheered at the end.
I love these old bumpers. I wish someone would post some of the older movie bumpers from the late 60s and early 70s. There was one "Prevues of Coming Attractions" one in which the lettering was in a passageway, and another one that had spotlights moving around. If anyone could post these I would be very grateful. Thanks
Wow, I remember this at all SRO theaters in Seattle during the mid to late 70's. Especially at the Admiral Theatre in West Seattle. It looked COOL on the red and orange curtains as they opened!
Man, I vaguely remember these trailers from my earliest visits to the movie theater and drive in in the early 1970s, and a light bulb went off in my head when I watched these! Thanks for posting them!
I try to download the song from his myspace page but it only downloads 22% of the song (12 seconds ) ...i click download ..save file ..but it still only downloads 22%
"Funky Fanfare" or "Soul thing", you tell. Both are by Keith Mansfield and are alike apart from the fact the first is mainly organ and the second horns.
