  • In your professional opinion, what guitar would you use now to best simulate that sound. Given Fender, or Gibson as the popular choices.? Thanks Guys

  • my vote would be for a humbucker guitar of some kind to get the fat warmer sound - keep rocking!

    dale

  • what guitar is that? is that what Mark used in the song?

  • it's a Collings 360...i'm not sure what he used on the original track - seems like he played a lot of humbucker guitars.

  • @blackfish590 Im pretty sure he played a messenger made by musicraft...it was hollow bodied and he covered the f-holes with duct tape...it had an aluminum neck...search on google and you can see what it looks like...like I said I think he used the messenger to record this track and he definitely used the messenger when playing live

  • the guitar is a Collings 360....it is not what MF used - thanks for giving your time to check this out!

  • This was the very first song I learned doing more than just strumming! I thought I had become a guitar god. But it is an easy song that still sounds good. I like your sound set up on this too. Finally, great flame top on your axe! I can't tell from the video, is it bookended?

  • it is bookmatched - i've really enjoyed the guitar, it has a great snap to it. Thanks for taking your time to listen and all the best with your music!

    dale

  • Could you be a bit more elaborate about the strumming pattern during the main riff. I would appreciate it.

  • Dale. Great lesson--again. I am beginning to think that you and I listened to the same radio station back during our youth. Still can not understand why GFR is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while ABBA and Madonna are. Are you going to do "Foot Stompin' Music" next???? Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  • aren't you glad we grew up when we did!! I so agree with your post - maybe i'm just not in the game but i never considered ABBA rock - isn't it called the R & R Hall of Fame - i'm with you bro - just don't get it - what is the criteria i wonder.
