I totally agree! We have a similar hair texture, (just that your hair is thicker/fuller) and people always ask what products I'm using to 'grow my hair fast' lol I don't buy expensive products...I use cheap stuff I can get at the super market and stick with it.
This may sound like a stupid question but if you deep condition with the cholesterol what do you use the other conditioners for? Detangling and co washing? How often do you co wash?
Cantu works great for all my hairstyles. Be careful, it will leave build up if used with other products like moisturizers or gels. However, I do find that this product works even better when used with an oil. I specifically use raw shea butter oil. Both scents combined makes me smile. Can't wait to see your upcoming bc.
I've been trying to find the herbal essences long term relationship leave-in here in London but I can't get hold of it. I've tried boots and superdrugs but neither of them have it....Help?!?!?! x
Hi there, wondered how you liked the cantu shea treatment? I love it especially as a deep conditioner (made a vid) and then as a leave in when i feel my daily hair needs some strengthening. Hope it works well for you as there are a lot of mixed reviews on this product.
The Cantu Leave-In is my staple leave-in. I use this followed with a bit of shea butter and coconut oil mixed in my hand (to seal) and then style for a braid or twist out. Works like a charm every time. Hope you have favorable results as well. Good Luck!! :)
i can barely hear and pay attention to you for your music is distracting. it kind of takes away from your videos. i don't know if its too loud or something.
I use the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In, I prefer it just for Deep Conditioning. I'll be trying it on some twist outs soon, a little goes a long way, but it smells SO good! I have some videos up of me using it if you'd like to know how I use it :)
@DynamicRunner i use it after shampoo & condish... leave it for about 5mins then rinse with cold water.... AVC will help balance the pH of your hair and remove the buildup, it will also close the numerous cuticle scales which cover and protect the surface of each hair shaft. This imparts a smoother surface which reflects more light and as a result leaves your hair shinier, smoother and easier to manage.
Thank you so much for responding! I've added your comment to my Nappy Notes about hair care, lol! I haven't tried an ACV rinse all over my head before. Does it leave an odor?
i have a question i wanted to know more about u rinsing your hair with apple cider vinger.. what does it help? and how to apply it and when to apply befor or after shampo and conditioning the hair please get back with me thamks:)
@antakeisha10 i use it after shampoo & condish... leave it for about 5mins then rinse with cold water.... AVC will help balance the pH of your hair and remove the buildup, it will also close the numerous cuticle scales which cover and protect the surface of each hair shaft. This imparts a smoother surface which reflects more light and as a result leaves your hair shinier, smoother and easier to manage.
p.s. cantu shea works great for me. advice: use on damp/wet, clean hair; a little goes a long way; use with oils (best with evco in my opinion) or a shea butter mix ONLY. pros: creates defined, shiney styles... best braid outs, twists outs ever :) cons: does contain protein if that is a matter of concern for you, can cause build up therefore do not apply to the scalp and must shampoo regularly (i.e. weekly).. clean, healthy scalp=growth. hope it works for you! blessings x
@PennyDoll hey girl... what i use is organic extra virgin so it has all it's nutrients and full benefits = unrefined
But the one your referring to is refined, bleached and deodorized so it doesn't actually give you any benefits besides being an oil, that's why it's much cheaper .
I <3 Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In.. I've been using it for the past 3 years (since I've been natural). I use it as a leave-in for virtually every style I do in my hair, lol. it's the most moisturizing leave in out there.
You're big chopping Woohooo. I'll be snipping too in a couple of weeks!!! I had enough of transitiong... 3yrs is long enough. I'm definitely coming to you for style inspiration though because as you know, i'm just so darn boring with my hair. I cant wait to see your beautiful hair in all its glory!!!
@herlucidsky My transition Inspiration!!! honestly if it wasn't for you i wouldn't have thought that 2 years was even possible . Your just amazing and i can not wait for your bc. Your hair is so beautiful !!!! xoxo
I used to use the cantu shea butter leave in I ran out and havent purchased more oh yeah because its 5+ dollars here and I can't afford to spend that much on something that I use liberally but it was a good product it left my hair very moisturized and if i remember correctly it controlled my frizz a good bit :-) hope this helps oh yeah by the way I totally agree with the not spending much on your hair for it to grow you are not a cheapskate at all :-) God bless
@aubjones1 You know what i'd been seeing it round here for 5+ pounds too so i wasn't about to buy it at all lol..... but i was with my friend and walked into some random BSS there it was for 3:49... lol
I hope its ok for me to ask u this question, do you speak twi, because i do and when i heard the background music i was wondering if u did?lol and also how do you use your whipped shea butter in your hair and do u think it is good to use it as a daily moisturizer? thank you.:)
I checked out the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In, but it has a chemical in it called BHT (I think that's what it is) which I've heard horrific things about. I've heard it mimics estrogen and is found in many of the plastics that our foods are packaged in . It is apparently causing havic, particularly effecting the testosterone level of boys. Since I have a son, I opted for something else. (Bet you wanted to know all that, huh? :-))
I have been using the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In , ever since i started transitioning * 9 months tomorrow :-) * personally i like it, it has a very nice smell , leaves my hair smooth, its feels moisturized. I use it along with my Africa's Best Heral Oil to moisturize and seal.
I like to use the cantu shea butter leave-in for my two strand twist outs. It helps define my curl pattern and it holds my curls. The only thing I don't like is it makes my hair hard but not too hard. I love the smell too!
I'm really excited for your BC! (As if it's mine or something...lol) You have great patience...I was going to transition for 2 years after I found your channel...but I got super impatient and BCed a month ago at 8 months post.
Honestly, I just big chopped and I HATE the cantu shea butter leave in repair cream. ultra moisturizing but it leaves white dots in my hair and they flake and fall out like dandruff -_-
When I was transitioning, I sweared by the cantu. It was great for roller sets/wraps, twist/braid outs, to use as any styling aid period! Not only did it smell good but it left my hair soft and full of volume and body. It also helped to hold any style for a good amount of time too. BUT... after I BC'd it did nothing for my hair :( Hopefully you will b able to find use for it after ur BC! let us know how it works for you :)
I love tresseme naturals also the moisture rich is the one you are right the smell is lovely! I got mine for £2.50 900 ml. I saw some in Paks in Peckham a few weeks back the lustrasilk I mean. I so cannot wait for you BC.
It's all about swarzkopf oil nutritive shampoo!! I looooove that shampoo! Plus the fact that is usually in poundland for yes....? A pound! I think its much better than some of that overpriced stuff out there.. Lord knows I've tried them.
Great video. I tried a twist out and OMG it came out super cute in the front but the back of my hair did not take for some reason andn it still looked nappy. Have you experienced this? Oh and does your hair shed a lot when you do your twist outs? Mine does for some reason ;-(
@eshon2008 because of my relaxed ends i dont really do twist out like that but generally i dont experience excessive shedding ... perhaps your hair isn't moisturised enough. Try black tea rinses... it helps with shedding
omg! the song is by a ghanaian person because in the begining i definately heard twi in there. bo wu ensam ma mi. meaning clap your hands for me! this excited me for some reason!!!! XD
what's the name of the song that plays throughout the video? I've been trying to find it & I can't.
