@Adam6985 im a punk and it isnt too hardcore. lol, al the hardcore kids i know love punk cause they know the roots and most of these bands do too, hell a lot of these bands cover old 80s hardcore tunes. its the fans, alot of them dont realize that all modern hardcore is the same shit but with heavier distortion and breakdowns. yeah some have a bit more technical skill, but listen to the bad brains, and you will hear this shit, but with no breakdowns really.

This is just the new evolution of hardcore, just because its different than it was in the 80s doesnt mean these guys don't feel just as passionately as the people in the 80s did.

Hardcore did derive from punk but it became a very diffrent animal in the first years of its existence. Hardcore youth in the 80's wanted to break away from the punks who lived only to drink, take drugs, and squat. Hardcore was a no-bullshit intelligent way to rebel without all of punks fashion trends or anarchist talk. Hardcore is like a bastard son of punk, and thats the way I like it.

You do realize that 50% of hardcore's roots is punk music.
Dancing came from punk
the Fast elements came from punk.
breakdowns and down tuning came from metal.
this is still "hardcore" but it's fucking punk too. if they all had street punk attire and had a higher voice then you'd call it punk

@ABMayweather I admit that hardcore punk doesn't have any metal in it at all but what we know to be called hardcore in the late 80's/early 90's has a distinct metal tone to it. The crunchy guitars, double bass and the lowered, more gutteral LEANING vocals, and hell even some of the attitude was metal. There is a difference between hardcore punk and hardcore. Just like there's a difference between thrash and thrash crossover.

Metal wasnt even agressive until it switched to thrash and metal evolved to thrash from taking on punk influences which was more of an agressive rebelious attitude. I'm from Orange county In my school district bands like the adolescents, a member from metalica came out of it. Agent orange even went to my high school back in the day. I grew up around thrashers and punks I go to shows I knew abunch of hardcore kids I grew up around this shit so I know where I'm comin from.

If you noticed the new hardcore scene is made up of scene kids and emos. For a while people used the term scremo which was good and that seperated true hardcore from those people.
