Well sung and you had the choreography down in terms of "steps," but all arm movements (at least in jazz) should stem from the solar plexus, all leg movements from the pelvis. Routine would have been GREAT if someone had managed to get that out of you. This message is 10 years too late, but if you're still perfoming, I hope you've mastered that.

Actually, it's the HAT that made the mistake. As I remember it from years ago, that hat was quite stiff; difficult to retract AND keep retracted. You can see her holding the top in, in other sections, to stop it from popping out.

It's a bit hard to see her as te character because she is a high schooler, and once again it isn't "that bad" (which is apparently a biting comment) So I'll say it's pretty good. She could be "bigger" and have more fun with it and her character... but that all comes with time, experience, and a director who brings it out in you. (No dis on the director. They did well at bringing out the HS in the performance.)

Really, this is amazing. I don't have all that much theatre experience but I have been involved in music performance for a long time and I'm amazed that this high school girl stayed on pitch on the notes the entire song and sounded just as good as any Broadway professional. Her dancing was also very nicely done. "Living in the moment", as my director puts it, needs a bit of work, but other than that, great! I'm recommending this for our HS next year, and I hope we do as good a job!

I'm gonna be brutally honest since ive been working on Broadway for 4 years. It lacks any similarities to Fosse. Your portrayal shows passion but lacks any personaliy. Now that the negatives are out of the way, way to create a dance style that differs from the norm. At 4:20 your lagging, watch the conductor. At 4:30 extend that note. Trust me, i've been a musician and music director on Broadway!

I think that "some" personality pokes thru, as well as a glimmer of Fosse-esque image, but I'm biased.

At 4:20 she was out of breath and barely had the "steam" left to push-out "he." It was only in this performance, not any of the other 3 shows. {Figures?.. that I taped THIS one!!}
