Please Help Me!I just got me pointe shoes today:)But i think they were fitted to small D: They lady gave me the shoes and i told her i wanted a larger size.So she gets me the larger pointe shoes size.We i went up,there was alot of excess at the end.So she told me the smaller size was as good as it was going to get.So i got those shoes(Grishko Elites) and when i walk in them my toes are squished and it hurts..ALOT.HELP
WTF??? How are ur shoes old and dead yet they are wayyyyy to big ???? Yaaa also I wouldn't have put u in pointe yet cuz ur not ready u have to learn to balance on Demi pointe first also your point is not strong enough... To fix that tuck ur knees to ur chest while sitting down then try to keep ur toes onthe ground while stretching out ur legs but don't sickle ur feet while doing so.
I had the problem with to big of shoes as well. Since then I have learned from my NEW instructor that when you try them on there should be no gap on the sides. The drawstring is only for minor adjustments if even that. Every teacher likes different things though. Keep up the good work!!!
when you turn, you need to turn towards the leg that is up. in the video, you are turning towards your standing leg. when you pirouette towards the leg in passe, you are able to turn better because you use your turn out (from the hip) to push yourself around with your bent leg.
You need to make sure to roll through demi-pointe to go en pointe instead of just springing up there. Prancing is a good way to warm up your feet and get the feel of rolling through.
turn out at the hip hun. shoes look a bit big, look into a different place when you get fitted next time maybe. your ribbons could be a bit higher. otherwise good work :)
I'm really worried about the size of your shoes. they look quite large for your feet. try going to a ballet store where they have people who know how to fit shoes to other people
hey i was just wondering, i just started ballet, and also do horse riding, does pointe hurt? I heard that it hurts soo much! Please someone respond!! :) thanks.
@DressageGirl07 well for i just gotta put a little tape on and i use toe spacers too... but ive only gotton one blister...ever!!!!!!so ya its pretty much different for everybody really
Turn out, turn out, turn out! I can't emphasize that too much! That should help your 'winging out' on your boxes, as well. I would also tell you to remember to make sure you roll through demi-pointe when going onto and coming off of pointe. Otherwise, very good job. Your legs are straight and your arch is wonderful.
Try to keep your weight even on all your toes (you were leaning on your little toes a bit). When you turn make sure to connect your toes at the knee and dont let it drop so fast (dont attempt turns you cannot do until you are ready, you could form some hard to break bad habits with posture and other things). Lastly, a little thing, put some space between your feet when in paralell. Keep practicing =)
You may wish to work on your ankle strength you seem to be shaking a lot. That could be because you are tired but I don't know if you were or not. Oh and you should really roll through your shoes more. But keep up the good work!

Not very good technique. Her shoes don't fit properly, she needs to get over more on her box and her 5th position really needs work.
