  • All italians love scottish people. God save the Scotland

  • Actually it was King James VI of Scotland who united England and Scotland, and began the Plantation of Ulster.

  • I'm English, and i cryed. Long Live Scotland!

  • Ahhhh - bonnie Scotchland - spent most of their time killing each other until the English introduced them to civilization...get over it Scotland and Wales (and Ireland for that matter) its one relatively small landmass, we all speak English - united we stand, divided we fall.

  • @termin9r

Ahhh - bonnie Scotchland - spent most of our time killing each other until the English introduced us to ..........English people.

    Hmmm...It wasn't rocket science.

  • Proud to be a 15 year old honour drenched ass kicking SCOTSMAN!!!!

  • What a load of old pants, I hope nobody takes this sh*t as an accurate historical enactment.....

  • Greetings to the SCOTS from the patriotic POLAND

  • FIGHT AGAINST THE ODDS! FIGHT AGAINST WHAT YOU FEAR! FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE!

  • I can speak only Japanese.

However, the heart leads each other.

  • every Scot will know that it was actually the battle of stirling bridge, in braveheart there is not bridge to be seen, but still a damn good film!

  • 2014 and the parasitic twin is finally lanced .. Alba gu bràth

  • @scotlandsons Yep, the Scots will no longer be able to live off English subsidies.

  • @uafchris Read the McCrone report,de classified in 2005.And free under the freedom of imformation act.And after that read the Gers report. The two are inter linked,as McCrone tells us how much money we have been ripped off for.It was hidden bye the unionists, for decades.Who thought the oil would have run out bye now.And dont mention BARNETT,as it does not take into account the off set off Scots oil off setted to our economy. So its pointless in regards to Scotland.Scotland subsidisies England tube

  • Thank you bery much!!

  • Why so many dislikes?! Is it because of the photos and not the actual battle that are is/are shown??

  • wake up scotland me and all wales love you

  • i really want to dance like a fucking idiot right now......ok im hungover i might as wellllll!!!!!!!

  • Well if you want to split hairs like that, the Bruce's themselves were Norman, married into Scottish bloodlines. If you've got one drop of Scottish blood, it carries through the generations and it never leaves you. Who knows whose ancestors were where at what time? If you love Scotland, love Scotland, and let people be.

  • nice! ;D

  • Why do bagpipers march when they play?

To get away from the noise.

  • Sorry flodden was the battle were king James of Scotland got killed in 1500s Falkirk was in 1298 sorry

  • @ESSP3ZZA23 We attacked England as we were in aliance with France. They were supposed to invade. And they never as usual. And we got beaten, with a massive army on our side.It was almost as bad as the casualties we lost in WW1.

  • @legandrydirk The fuck are you talking aboot min, you weren't even there, and the culture was utterly different to now. So don't say "our" and "almost as bad", and especially "we".

You dinnae hae a fucking clue fit your on aboot di ye??

  • @Pawnbroker00 I am Scottish so I used the word we.As in my Country and my countrymen. My ancestors would have been there. And stop typing like a simplton. It does not make you sound Scottish. It just makes you sound,as if you have special needs.Maybe you have and if so I am sorry to you.

  • @legandrydirk You are moron, you cant even write properly, you cant speak the dialect, and your ancestors probably would not have been there. The scottish army was only a few thousand, out of about a million people resident in scotland at that time.

  • @Pawnbroker00 My Granny was a Wllace from Glasgow, near were his house is.And my familly tree has been traced. And its all Scottish clans that are amongst them.So un like you,who knows fuck all.I actually know what I am talking about.Just cos I dont type, like a ned.Making the words fit my accent, does not make me any less Scottish.Or any less proud of my nation and its heritage. We know the clans, and were they hailed from.Who fought in the battle,we dont really know a lot else about Wallace or other

  • @legandrydirk Wallace comes from the english waelisc, which meant "foreigner" and came to mean "welsh", so technically you are less scottish.

  • @Pawnbroker00 And Wallace settled there, after coming comung from France.I dont need a history lesson from the likes of you thanks.I have probably forgot more about William Wallace, than you will ever learn. You Morris dancing hanky waving cunt

  • @Pawnbroker00 it comes from the old french and means what you say lol

  • @Pawnbroker00 Also I am dyslexic,so fuck you.I am proud of my Wallace blood that flows in my veins. And I am proud of being from Glasgow. And having ties down in Ayrshire,as he also did.Happy new year you rude shit head

  • Scotland won independence 300 years later 1500s try to take the north of England but lost there king and most of there army at the battle of Falkirk history works in a funny way Scotland won in Scotland but in England the English won

  • @ESSP3ZZA23 We got our independance after Bruce won in 1314, the English only had it for about 20 years at most. Scotland won the first war of independance, then they tried to start another war, and never won that one either. Scotland only got occupied, the English tried to take our independance and never succeeded.

  • ALBA GU BRAITH

  • It's too bad this movie was made about 5 years before CGI made it possible to show it as it actually was, with a BRIDGE in it. Oh well, not Mel Gibson's fault. But there are still so many historical inaccuracies in the movie I can't watch it anymore.

  • @squamish4244 you dont have to care about historical accuracy mate.... you just have to care on which message is giving to you the movie..... so for you, what's the message in this movie?

  • @Panz82 The message is a good one, but I am distracted by all the historical errors. It's like reading a book with a good story but a bunch of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. It ruins the book for some people anyway. And it's not like Braveheart took a few liberties here and there, it is ranked as one of the top ten most historically inaccurate movies ever made.

  • @Panz82 The message was about freedom and libery.Just like it was the message from Wallace himself. And lots of the history in oit is true. And lots of stuff in its mist out.About his life like going to Europe,to find us support. The bit he kills the nobles that betrayed him is wrong. He had to work with them.Bruce was a turn coat though, that bit is bang on.He changed sides seven times or something. And they would have known each other.Wallace was from Ayrshire, and would have lived on his lands.

  • YOU BASTARDS!!!

  • ALBA GUBRATH

  • @Panz82 For the record, it's Alba Gu Brath. But i still have my hat off to you for saying that.

  • @ExtinguishedKhaos thx mate i was not sure between alba gu brath & alba gubrath.... i love Scotland cause i come from Swizterland.... we struggled for our indipendence in the same times but we've been really more lucky....

i repeat ALBA GU BRATH ( i almost got tears in my eyes when writing that)

  • @lazysunside It's the global village. Somewhere in the Congo, Brazilian UN peacekeepers are watching Braveheart dubbed into Cambodian but with Turkish subtitles.

  • Why are you people disgussing trade with china in the comments below a video, containing a song from Braveheart?

  • erm I do everything for your satisfaction

  • Trolls, who needs them anyways?

And the US is the only nation on the planet that can strike any other nation on the planet. It's called a Carrier Battle Group and it kicks ass. China has a few strategic nukes sure, America has tens of thousands of them. Russia has nukes, sure, but they ain't gonna help the Chinese. China and Russia have a nice little rivalry going. India hates China's guts and the Norks may be China's only friends. Yeah, some alliance of great powers.

  • @TheFrontlineChaos You think that these days having many nukes makes u strong? America, China, Russia, India, etc. all these countries are closely tied by trade and political organizations, if USA at the moment went to war against china, the MOST POTENT trading partner with all the world, with whom do you think the world would team up? Present strength and position of countires is made due to fragile tradeing bonds and relations, if they crumble due to war or else, situation would differ grately

  • @FlyOfDarkness No, actually, I'm just saying it to piss off RichardElden and throw his entire idea of China being able to kick America's ass. In fact, most countries don't like trading with China. This is mainly because of two things, first inconsistency, they never know what China want to buy or sell on any given year and that effects global supply and second, policy, China's government controls the critical industries in the country.

And the US would still win the 30 sec war.CBGs!

  • @TheFrontlineChaos just because they don't like it doesn't mean they won't do it, and they will :). China is inconsistent, because they have a luctury to be incosistent, whatever they take, other will follow because nobody wants to be left out from china's trading list. RichardElden may be a retard but to an extent he is right. Lets say there is war, and america would win first clash, china with trade support of everyone, and US with almost no trade left, who would win in the very end? :)

  • @FlyOfDarkness Actually no, its because of China's policy of 'self-sustenance', but whenever there are shortfalls, China must buy, leading to massive rises of prices everywhere. And when China overproduces (and that happens a lot too) they must sell a lot.

And in the end, who would win? Nobody. The USA is still the biggest consumer in the world. If you want to make the US lose. The US will make YOU lose too. That's why we have nukes. Nobody will win. Period.

  • @TheFrontlineChaos Is it just me or do i sense a pride in that? xD

  • @FlyOfDarkness I'm a Chinese-American, and I've lived and studied in both countries, so I've tried to base everything on this (and related) topic(s) off of those experiences and studies.

  • @TheFrontlineChaos Learn to answer a question, these studies didn't help u much it seems. I don't care where ur from.

  • @TheFrontlineChaos I have a Political simulator and as the UK i like trading with USA because you buggars are the biggest consumers out of my allies. China consumes fuck all, they produce it all themselves, being the communist planned economy they are... I would play as Scotland but that ain't independent yet...

  • @FlyOfDarkness What would I possible need to solve for them to like me huh? Nothing needed solved. Just trying to make me look bad. I mean does it really take like 4 people to win a debate with me? Kind of pathetic. Let people fight there own battles. This isn't a damn war or something. One main command? Not really. Never heard of the countries mixing up the countries soldiers, and war is my specialty when it comes to knowledge. Yes the comparison does apply.

  • @FlyOfDarkness Trade has nothing to do with an alliance. Your country is also in the UN. The UN together can trade more than China. Not to mention did you hear about China running its own people down with tanks because they were protesting? The US responded by cutting back on trade, but then continued to trade only because its hard to put a strain on a nation with that much resources. Although the UN has way more military might then China every will and more oil.

  • its all about knowledge- k+influence+m=p.

If china and america would go to war life as we know will be different. a very intelligent man( albert einstein) once said after world war III we will be fighting with sticks. it does not matter who is trade power or resources, if push came to shove both sides have nukes, also who knows what else you think our government tells about every new weapon they make...nope. nobody new what a nuke was until it was droped think about it.

  • @heatherkay28 And he said time travell was not possible, and modern scientific research in Switzerland has recently proved him wrong.I would not take everything that he says for granted.

  • @legandrydirk I have his book on his theories and he never said time travel was impossible he thought a particle couldnt travel the speed of light without breaking up. but if one could travel that fast then time travel would be plausible and possible. and with the haldron smasher in switzerland they are now proving him wrong that a particle can travel that fast, so its proveing one theory wrong will supporting another. theories are meant to be tested and proven never factual. but it is cool

  • @heatherkay28 I always thought that UFO,s could be us coming back from the future. To spy on the ancestors.I also thinkl many of them, are from other univerces.

  • Good thinking!

  • Americans identify themselves etc. Why because I don't know! You say we cant' be 100% right on everything. That is true but no-one is claiming to be. The point remains though that Britain does not equate with England. They are different concepts. If some people in other countries don't know the difference it doesn't mean there is no difference. England is that part of the island of Britain south of the Scottish border and east of the Welsh border, plus one or two small offshore islands.

  • @RichardElden 3 countries against most of the world? The UN has superior everything. Don't state lies state facts. Making yourself look retarded.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Eh? Sorry Not sure what you mean, just makes me think how the US and China rule the world, and we thought that some 100 years back

  • @RichardElden

    US:

    Troops- 2,936,396

    Budget- $549,100,000,000

    China:

    Troops- 3,085,000

    Budget- $100,000,000,000

America is bankrupt? Maybe you should look at our military forces. Our Navy and Airforce makes theres look like ants. We are superior. We also have 400 billion dollars more spent on military. We are not bankrupt. We would crush any nation on earth. Russia could crush China alone. You fail.

  • @RichardElden Unfortunately for you, its not. Never will be. UN surround China and could easily wipe it out. Not even Russia likes China so tough luck spreading your bullshit like.

  • @RichardElden Tell Americans in person you were glad that 9/11 happened. People from over 80 nations died in that building. It was called the World Trade Center for a damn reason. They attacked American soil, but also attacked the lives of other nations but we responded first to protect. America is always the one to response to a crisis and yet people still hate us. Most likely because people are jealous of a nation that started small and ended up a the head super power nation on earth.

  • He is obviously talking about the familial, cultural and geographic type of Britishness rather than the political.

  • @gaconnochie And I would know that people are only called Americans in PA because I live there. No matter how many "facts" you state your never going to be 100% right. Best to just leave it be. I find it very hard to believe that your our greatest ally. We don't even like each other at all. I have no trust for the "British" people because every time I befriend one they betray me without reason. Wonder why that is?

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Maybe that is, because u tend to leave things be without solving them so they don't like you very much? Would you really generalise whole nation because of few its citizens being bad to you? Besides, these days everybody wants to be americas "Greatest Ally", as well as america does pretend to care for hers.

  • @gaconnochie You insist a lot of crap to buddy.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Sorry don't follow this comment. What else would you say he's talking about then if not the familial, cultural and geographic?

  • England the results were different but not so different for the multi option choice. 17% said they were English. 10% said they were Briitsh. 63% said they were both English and British. As I've said repeatedly what is actually meant by British may differ between people and at least some who say they aren't British are making a political point and choosing to ignore the geographic and cultural aspects. Even an SNP MSP recently claimed that independence would strengthen Britishness in Scotland.

  • @gaconnochie Ok.I don't know if you realize you make it easier to reply when you keep replying. I never stop. Anyway, being that those two nations are united, that means that there is no such thing as Scottish or English anymore. Your now called British since the nations united. Example would be the states of the US uniting to form one nation and all being called Americans and actually being happy with that name. You don't go around calling people Pennsylvanians because they live in Pennsylvania

  • @DarkestWolfSoul "That means there is no such thing as Scottish or English anymore" No it doesn't. We are all British Citizens 'according to our passports' but some of us are Scottish and some English etc. Only a tiny minority in both Scotland and England consider themselves only British and nothing else. The 4% or so in Scotland that feel that way are probably mostly incomers. You clearly don't understand the intricacies of identity etc over here. I wouldn't try to tell an American how other

  • @gaconnochie I don't need to understand them. Take a couple wars for example. If an ally or enemy asks where they are from, they will say England if they are English and Scottish if they are from Scotland. It just make things so much damn easier. Don't make sense to make thing more difficult by saying "I'm British." Like if you needed to go home because your injured in a war and you say your British. That isn't detailed enough. I'm sure the English and Scottish have their own bases.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul "I don't need to understand them" Not when you insist everything is as you think it is!

  • @DarkestWolfSoul That would be the case, if asking them "What part of Britian are you from?" proved to be too challanging. Both England and Scotland are parts of Great Britian, so they have every right to call themselves British. Besides in a war, countries like parts of GB are usually in a union where they have one main command for all of them, so saying either British or English/Scottish/Welsh doesn't really make a difference.

  • @FlyOfDarkness " Besides in a war, countries like parts of GB" You are absolutely right. The British Army is made of Scottish Regiments, English Regiments etc and always has been. I don't know why this other poster can't grab this simple truth. Of course if the union broke up then Scottish Regiments would form a Scottish army and same with the rest. But that is a whole different thing.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul the reason why in Britian they call themselves English and Scottish and in US they call themselves americans not pensylvanians is because Pensylvania is a state, not a legitimate country, while in Britian, England and Scotland are two legitimate countries with their own governments chooseing to be labelled as a unity - Great Britian. Pensylvania is a state of a country, therefore the comparison doesn't apply. It's like calling a guy from London - Kingstonian.

  • For those not from these parts to get an idea of what I mean. In the 2003 figures from the Scottish Social Attitudes poll when asked if they were Scottish or British (ie not given any other options) then 72% of people in Scotand said they were Scottish and 20% said they were British. However when given the option to identify those ways or as Scottish and British then those who said they were only Scottish fell to 31% and only British to 4%. With 60% identifying as both Scottish and British. In

  • majority of both Scots and English people do also identify as British. It doesn't stop them being Scottish or English too. We all have multi-layered identities and as I keep saying the term British will mean different things to different people anyway. They may be talking politically or they may be talking geographically or culturally. What somebody on the other wide of the ocean thinks is hardly important especially when they seem so ill informed.

  • @RichardElden Ok just making sure you know history and science on a basic level. Humans were first on Africa. That makes anyone not on the continent of Africa a colonist. That includes everyone on the island of Britain. You people are there because people settled there just like here in North America and the rest of the world. Not to mention if you don't include the Africa part, we're not colonist. We're a nation. Not to mention a way higher population with the US alone. We're not colonist.

  • push it further back than that. No Scot in the 14thC would have lit a bonefire and shout "the British are coming" :-)

  • What you don't seem to understand is that even more ardent nationalists who'll deny to the core a sense of Britishness tend to baulk when Americans (as some do) get mixed up between the concepts of England and Britain and talk as if they are one and the same thing. They aren't. All of England is in Britain but all of Britain is not England

  • is like forcing people to be called something". Again what I said is that you can't dictate how other people identify themselves. What importance is a foreigner on newsnet says Scots shouldn't be called British when the fact of the matter is a big majority of Scots identify themselves as both Scottish and British. That is fact and the figures from various polls are freely available on the net. I was simply explaining that just because they say they are British it doesn't mean they are unionists

  • @RichardElden Yeah ISLAND of Britain. Not NATION of Britain because its called England. Therefore no one is British. Their called the English. British is more of a territory. People who live on the continent of North America, aren't consider North Americans. I don't need to be from there to know more. You actually have to study the shit.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul "Not NATION of Britain because its called England." Only England is called England. Wales is called Wales. Scotland is called Scotland. The three countries that make up Britain. The concept if nation is multi meaning here as is the concept of country. The UK is a member of the United Nations so people will often refer to the nation when talking about the political state. Yet the national identities of the various constituent parts tend to be the strongest identities for people

  • created in 1707 with the union between Scotland and England (Wales was legally part of England at that time). These are plain facts and have nothing to do with my opinion. If Scotland goes independent then I have no idea what the remaining UK would call itself. The UK of England, Wales and Northern Ireland perhaps! They wouldn't necessarily use the name Britain as GB itself would be defunct. Who knows though we will hopefully find out.

  • ensignmessage . com / basques . html

  • The results were maybe not surprisingly not that different as far as England goes. I'm a nationalist myself and that is why I was trying to explain that British means more than one thing. There is a geographic and cultural Britishness as well as the political idea. Hence not all people who identify in some way as British are unionists. Even an SNP MSP recently claimed that independence would actually strengthen Britishness.

  • @gaconnochie No see you don't get anything at all. I have a clue. Way more than you do and you live there. North America has 3 nations ok? Being that as it may, each nation has its own name and nationality see? American, Mexican, and Canadian. Britain is the name of the island. Did I lose you yet? England is a nation. They are English. Scotland is Scottish. Wales are whatever they call themselves. Ireland is Irish. Basically no one is British but the land that you stand on. Not including Ireland

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Let's just remember what you said. "Britain has a border" well sorry as I said it doesn't. There are borders within Britain but apart from the artificial border built with France (ie the Chunnel) it does not have any land borders within anyone else. You don't need to tell me that Scotland, England and Wales are all on Britain. I know that (I live here) and that is what I've already been saying to you. As to the main point you said that "Scots should not be called British as it

  • @gaconnochie No borders? Maybe not visible, but each nation has its own land and it does own that land. The UK is just nations united. And I know you live there. I stated that before. And I also said just because you live there don't make you right. You see yourself as land? Ok then. No one else looks at themselves and says "I'm North American." Your either English, Scottish, or Wales to the entire earth so just deal with it.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul You are completely havering. There are borders within Britain and they are very visible. The point is that Britain itself doesn't have land borders with anyone else. That is fact and no amount of blethering by you changes that. Of course I'm Scottish. who on earth said I wasn't. Not me? I don't need anyone else to tell me that. As to whether Scots or English people regard themselves as Briitsh or not then that how the self identify is up to the individual as I keep saying. A big

  • @gaconnochie Nothing you say will change the fact that you didn't live through out the entire existence of England, Scotland, and Wales. Records could be false or not even go back that far. No one knows what the original leaders thought and did. Only they have a right to say what their people should and will be called whether they like it or not. When I used to think of British, I only thought of the English. So do most people, and again you can't change that. Deal. With. It.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul I'm not talking about the entire existence of Scotland etc. I'm talking about the hear and now. It makes no sense to talk of 14thC English armies as "the British". Great Britain (ie the British state) was created by the union of Scotland and England at a much later date. That is fact! You incorrectly equate "Britain" with "England". That is fact! The net is a good learning tool yet you choose to glory stubbornly in your incorrect assumptions! What can I say?

  • has always been and will always be. When someone says yes they are British they aren't necessarily meaning the same thing as someone else saying they are British. Whatever you can't dictate how others see themselves!

  • 1) Scotland is a great nation.

    2) Scotland is not England's little bitch.

    3) People should stop trash talking about any nation in the UK.

Maybe some nations in the UK kind of hate each other like the Welsh apparently have a grudge or something against the British for taking resources? I don't know. But theres not point in the bullshit. This film isn't very correct obviously, but I like it because it showed the pride the Scottish had for there independence.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul why do you only refer to the english, as british but not the welsh or scots, when britain means the whole island not just england? so do label the english as british if your going to exclude the welsh and scots from british.

  • @megatunesdudeisacunt UK means all the nations not Britain. Britain has a border. Maybe you should check a map?

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Britain itself doesn't have a border (well I suppose apart from the channel tunnel) it has a coastline. The UK does have a border ie that between Northern Ireland and the Republic. I'm not sure what kind of map you must be looking at?

  • @gaconnochie "I'm not sure what kind of map you must be looking at?" Getting into someone elses debate when I wasn't talking to you. Maybe you should take notice of the fact that there a lot of damn nations connected. It wouldn't be called Scotland if it was Britain. The geographical stand point say its freaking Scotland, but it's next to Britain. Just like America next to Canada and Mexico. I don't thing the Scottish who fought for their country would like people like yourself. Be real for once

  • @DarkestWolfSoul I live only about 5 miles from a border and I can assure you it is the border between Scotland and England. Not the border between Scotland and Britain. The net is good for learning about other countries. Not so good about lecturing other people on what their country is or isn't. Especially when you obviously don't have a clue. Geogrpahically the island of Britain consists of three countries. Scotland, England and Wales. The politicla state called Great Britain was first

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Look there is a difference between England and Britain, Britain is the whole damn island, The term British means English and Scottish not just England because the term British was used after the act of union 1707, so stop acting like you know all about Scotland and the British isles cos you dont, im actually from Britain ok so I know this, is basis knowledge to know that Britain is an island meaning England, Wales and Scotland.

  • @megatunesdudeisacunt "the term British was used after the act of union 1707" You are absolutely right that is when it came into official use. When James VI of Scotland became King of England in 1603 he styled himself King of Great Britain and pushed for a union but both the Scottish and English parlaiments would have no truck with it. So at a stretch you could maybe use the term British for joint Scottish and English actions in the 17thC ie the Plantation of Ulster. But it makes no sense to

  • @gaconnochie Yeah thats true, it was the Scottish king james when he inherited the throne of England, he wanted a united Britain, and it was king James who had the union flag designed for him. But the rest or parilement in England didn't want to join with Scotland at that time, it wasn't till a hundred years later they would.

  • @DarkestWolfSoul Great Britain is an Island which includes the countries England, Wales and Scotland, Britain is three countries! Looks like it is you that needs to check the map?
