@robinsonjd1978 here is the problem , pacquiao is clean, he said you wanna test if im on drugs ? i can take the test days before the fight and RIGHT AFTER the fight. so why cant pacquiao take the test 2 days before the fight ? did you watch his first fight with Morales ? he explained after that fight that the excessive blood drawn from him made him weaker and that a large part of the blood drawn wasnt even used. since then he was still following drug tests but not excessive or close to the fight

Pac also had a surprise blood test the day before the Morales fight. Pac was clean. Manny legacy is cemented. Floyd will always be seen as a talented ducker.

@harvest21021982 - I could'nt agree more. There seem to be conflicting reports about whether Margarito is going to fight Cotto but I think it's very possible he may retire. I like Robert Garcia but I have to say he was idiotic for not pulling Tony out - Mexican heart has nothing to do with it when you're taking the punishment he took. I never recall Mexican greats like Chavez or Barrera taking that much punishment.

I am actually a fight fan, a big Pacquiao fan, I just love the way he fights, his style... very explosive.

I also had to say I'm also a Tyson fan just like you guys, also loved how Tyson fought back then, it was a different feeling watching him unleash his power inside the ring, dominating bigger guys, just like what Pacquiao does now; unfortunately Tyson took a wrong turn at some point in his career, he could've accomplished more, sad.

I think that's how it really works... when a talented, athletic, dedicated fighter meets a great, experienced coach/master/trainer who is knowledgeable of the fight game, equals great and amazing feats.

Manny was already fighting that same intensity even before he went to U.S. but he lacked the technical aspects of the game, which Freddie worked on and polished. Just like how Cus saw potential in Mike and then taught him about fighting.

@ginogeno - I completely agree with you. Pacquiao does bring the same kind of "can't take your eyes off" excitement as a young Iron Mike did. But when you factor into it that he's sustained and actually improved his style over a period of nearly 10 years (since Roach), it's quite phenomenal. As for Clottey, well, I really found it difficult to edit that fight. For obvious reasons!!

@JoseSilver Pacquiao is better than Tyson, Tyson had all the potential but he lacked the heart of a lion, once you stood up to Tyson he crumbled, Pacman has also fought way better competition and has proven himself, Tyson lost his biggest fights. Its a shame Tyson never learned to adjust in fights, there is video of Tyson crying before his amateur fight and Teddy Atlas had to comfort him, Tyson was really a big baby with insecurity who hid behind his bully front.

He's achieved above and beyond what Tyson has, both in terms of his boxing skill development, fitness and of course most importantly - his legacy. But Tyson, in his own way was still special. It's just the kind of electric excitement that Pac brings reminds me of when I was a kid and how boxing fans/casual fans reacted to a young Tyson. He was so different at the time.

I never understood the boycott on Pacquiao...to me it seems a racial thing its sad. Supposedly, you can't come from Asia, have a highly unorthodox style and essentially re-write the way to boxing success.Though the Philippines has always had a fine prize-fighting history. But Yeah, Pacquiao to me is the most dramatic prizefighter of the last 30 years. That does'nt mean I can't see his vulnerabilities. But he is special.

I think it has to do with them feeling inferior, like since many feel Asians are considered weaker psychically to have a Filipino go on top dominating boxing makes them feel inferior that's why the steroids issue is being brought up because they cant believe an Asian can do what he is doing.

The good news though is that there are still people the world over who are captivated by Manny. In that sense he transcends race. But he surely is the most exciting fighter of any background active today and that is something to cherish. That and the fact he is such a selfless individual, no ego, and is clearly genuine in his desire to help others.

So many fans complain of boring fights yet they are blasting Manny Pacquiao for doing the opposite destroying bigger men, they say these fighters are shot, but have they ever even thought maybe manny pacquiao is just that ferocious? I mean from my own eyes I never seen a fighter like pacquiao with persistent explosiveness.

@ginogeno - I think you hit the nail firmly on the head there and I could'nt agree more. Pac has probably done more than any fighter of his generation in kind of being the "keeper of the flame" so to speak, as you said - Putting boxing back on the map and giving the public truly thrilling performances. Anybody can over-analyse and pick apart elite level boxer's opponents, but it's how the guy's in the spotlight perform and what they give to their audience, nobody does it to the level of Pac.
