It's so great to see the possibilities of wood turning are endless. With enough imagination you can make just about anything. I wish I had known all this when I was still in school (I studied cabinet making) where I only used the lathe once to make the leg of a little round table...
Hi there, I have watched many of your videos and they are a pleasure to watch, very clear and easy to understand, but what I would like to know is how did you make the hole through the stem (shaft) was it the long boring tool or did you use another method? keep up the good work my friend and I look forward to your next video, regards Matt.
tks for posting but i would have liked to see how you bored the hole through what you did with the wire so that the base sat flat down

Sorry, I will be making a new lamp soon. I bored it out with a long drill bit and a hand drill. I cut a slot in the base so it would sit flat.
Thanks,
Carl

I am looking into making a dust collector. To keep it simple and keep the noise down .

@worromij A scraper is sharpened on a 45 degree bevel and a bedan is sharpened on a 60/65 degree a bevel

Hi Matt, I used a long 3/8 drill bit. I think a boring tool is probably the best way.
Thanks,
Carl
