I remember when I first saw this trailer. I got so excited about seeing the film. It excited me even more after the horrible let down that was Die Hard 4.0. When I first saw it I was blown away by it and I left the theater angry, not angry at the film, but angry that the situation in Burma was not more widely known. Rambo 4 reminded me of First Blood because of how it was not only an exciting thriller but it was making a point and bringing a real problem to the mainstream audience.

Mr Stallone here proves to be the real artist he always was. He started out as a living-piece-of-art that many people laughed about, couldn't take seriously. The photography and visual effects in this picture are of an extreme quality. And in between walks and talks THE MAN who is definitely an ACTOR (not just some kind of robot) with a VISION. ... And I thought I had a strong stomach. Usually when I see violence in movies--even highly realistic, visceral violence--there's still a level of detachment for me because it's still just a movie. I don't know if it's the brilliant FX team or the fact that this sort of horror is currently happening in Myanmar (ok maybe not people's throats being manually torn out), but this movie left me with the same feeling as the last scene of Waltz with Bashir.

Just watched the film. I didn't see the start of the movie but pretty much the last 75 mintues of it. In those 75 minutes he said about 10 sentences hahah. God DAMN, this was a good action movie. The only Rambo movies I liked were the first one and the last one, but those two taken together are right at the top of my action movie list.

This is the way to revisit a character, know what I mean? Rambo's age was part of what made him interesting in the last movie. So often they just try to freeze these action characters in time, like they haven't changed at all.
