I think this was beautifully played. A few mistakes, sure, but technically very good and such heartfelt playing, especially at the end, it was lovely. You can image how good it would sound on a new piano!

I think the only reason the playing here seemed too fast was because the pianist made too many mistakes and his fingers kept on rolling over each other, making it seem as if he rushed over the notes. I'm sure that if he practiced a lot more and wasn't tired at the time of the playing, as the poster of this video has told us, his performance would be a lot better. I know from personal experience how hard it is to play this song when tired.

ey this is a great song but its hard to keep an even tempo while playing it, im playing it for my next exam... you need to slow it down so you can put some expression and feeling in the piece and bring out the melody, yeah play it cantabile, this song is supposed to be played to provoke lots of feeling, just take your time to enjoy it, but other then that it heaps good

A reply to Vanedis003 - a generalisation, to be sure! I am a woman and I play at the speed that the gentleman featured in the video plays. Michael Nyman does tend to play it a lot faster than Holly Hunter did in the film, but it was still with a lot of emotion. I was very moved by his playing from the CD recording.

OMG....not to be critical..but oh my goodness...please practice more before you log your vids in here....You made lots of mistakes...and it's not the right speed, you're going too fast...Try putting some emotion to the piece...and made you'll get it right!

To be a great pianist doesn't mean just getting to perfection...means emotion...putting all you got to the piece and more!!

Don't be nervous when you play...just relax, and play with your heart!!

Hands go a little disharmonic sometimes... oh, and those mistakes, you should practice a little harder :P, but it sounds really good at some places.

Took me half a year to learn how to play this... I used to give up and then just came back and continued learning it because it's such a cool feeling to play this piece.
