@tylerc1992charlo The closest you can get, to Downey's quality, is from LC Engineering. They're the only place that make a 1 5/8" primary header for the 22R/RE now. If I remember right, they bought Downey's equipment. So, they make the stuff that Downey used to make. Them, and Trail Gear. LCE makes Downey's cold air intakes also. The only thing that Downey did, that no one else does, is the AFM recalibration. I have a page on my site, that says how to do it.
i have a 93 with a v6 i need to rebuild. how much do you have into the new engine on yours? im trying to figure out exactly what i want to do with it. and do you know if the 22re would bolt up to ours?
The 3.0 is a slight and i mean slight power upgrade over the 2.4 cyl.. and for the fuel consumption of the 3.slow it isn't worth the time... get a 3.4 then it would be worth it
so,i like the truck.i had a 91.before that i had an 88 4runner with the 3.0.i bet the head gasket blew didnt it.i like all the work you did, headers, then you got to the muffler.....a 20$ cherry bomb glasspack?they sound nice after the glass is broken, but you couldnt get a better one?love the truck though
my 89 yota i put a 4 inch suspension lift on mine with 32" tires on 15" rims with a 4 cylinder motor does pretty good but a little sluggish in 4 low wanna put a v-8 in it but know wich motor would be the easiest 2 put in there any body know.
well its gone now, a few months ago i had an accident and got hit from the side and flipped it twice. R.I.P. will always miss this truck, about 2 years of work into her=[
Hey man great truck! I myself have a 93 with the a four cylinder motor. I'm planning on lifting mine 4 inches. What size tires did you get? and did you paint your frame or rino line it?
I really want to kick rudder11's ass for his ignorant and ridiculous comment. Amazing Job man keep up that good work. Few people can really understand this video and the insanely hard work that has gone into this Toyota.
wow its amazing to see my same engine (almost, no serpentine belt) except not dirty, worn out, rusted and leaky! (but still running!) are you going to put lockers in the rear? and a solid axle swap is also the way to go. good job man.
Seriously, what is he on about? A Toyota will still be running, have a nice resale value, and practically no problems long after his domestic is a pile of rust in a junkyard(no offense to domestic people). Besides, Toyota's sold here are made here, they provide just as much jobs and help our economy just as much as american car companies do.
LOL, at the end of the day it comes down to off road ability, and build quality, and that pickup along with most other yotas can go any where any dodge, ford, chevy, landrover etc can go,and they are all made from the same basic design, and dont think im knocking american 4x4's, i love them, but im so sick of people knocking 4x4's either because of their country of origin or brand.
its not exactly the young people's fault that America makes shit quality vehicles and ironically Japan and their cheaper labor ends up being higher quality.
lol at the seats...
