For some reason, ever since i started watching your videos, I feel more self disciplined. I even told my grandma i didn't want more cake (had to take a tiny slice, or i would never hear the end of it haha). You're doing great work here Steve, and i hope comments like mine will keep You motivated to educate the public who are searching for the truth. Love your body!
This is SO true! I have training with a friend of mine. I am half her size but have lost twice as much weight. she complains, I say pain (from working out hard) and giving up a few brownies is worth it. proof is in the waist line!
I think it's a little harsh to just rag them out like that. If they're not willing to admit their problem thats one thing, but I think just about everyone struggles from some form of psychological addiction to some degree (this could be entirely unrelated to diet/exercize). If they say "look, I know I have a problem and I want help" I still give them credit for trying to heal and break psychological addictions, it's not always an easy thing to do.
I already know I need self-discipline. That's just step 1. What about step 2: how to get self-discipline? I have been working on that for over a year, albeit not necessarily related to fat-loss. I still haven't gotten to the point where I can run every day, or even every other day.

hey steve I'm just wondering whats your secret? how can i have a perfect bod like yours?
I mean, usually I get up roll outta bed and eat my spare Big Mac, purchased the night before comin home from work (sittin on my ass), whilst I read the paper on the crapper.
Then I get my bacon sandwhich ready for my 2 hour commute....but anyways thats beside the point.
I mean are you into Yoga n'.... stuff or maybe theres are cool energy drink you recomend? whats the secret steve? How r u so cool?!?!?!?!
@Steelteeth14 a can of soda is like 150 calories. drink diet soda instead. if you drink 4 soda cans per day, and switch to diet soda, you can drop 600 calories just like that :)
is there anything i can do about having a abnormally large appetite i eat as less as i can and count my calories but my hunger is torture what can i do?
I would never have the self-discipline to go to the gym if I hadn't managed to combine painful, tedious, boring exercising with doing something I like, such as watching TV and listening to audio books and talk radio.
A portable video player strapped to the display of the workout machines is the difference for me between going to a gym three times a week and working out in the place for hours and paying for a membership to a gym I never go to...
great video. people are in denial about self control. for example, they go on diets where you can eat as much as you like (atkins), where no self control is needed. self control is the key to all walks of life to success.
Steve no offense, but you are telling people to bake a cake without telling them the ingredients or how to do it. Sure some of them may figure it out, but if you want to turn everyone into a chef, you are probably going to have to help them a little bit more than that. You obviously have some internal motivation that those people don't have, and merely telling them they are lazy probably isn't going to help much.
i want to lose weight but i dont know if i can give up eating snickers and m and ms ,ice cream bars, recces cups, hot fries ,donuts, chocolate cookie doe icecream, and paint chips all this food talk is making me hungry how bout you guys
There actually working on ways to simulate the taste of high fat food with low fat food :). Ice Cream of the future, Dippin Dots, is one of those things I think.
damn Straight. Good advice for all topics of our lives. If you are not willing to DO what needs to be done, stop Complaining, and suffer the reaction of your actions.
"self discipline" and "self control" is fine advice to people who aren't food addicts. But to people with a true food addiction, "just get over it and stop eating so much" is not the answer.
People quit smoking on their own. You can make better food choices. Instead of thinking of another excuse, think of a positive reason why you don't need it and how good you'll feel once your body transforms.
Overeating is more akin to alcoholism than smoking. There really aren't Smoker's Anonymous but there is Overeater's Anonymous. Food Addiction is a disorder, the way the mind, food and the body interact is disordered. It is not an excuse for being fat. I just see fat as the symptom of the disorder and not the problem itself. But not every fat person, is a food addict; and not every food addict is fat.
Self discipline. Boy that's the truth. I'm finally down abt. 15# and need to continue. Something I should've done years ago. A lack of discipline, and genetics (which is no excuse, I don't claim that it is), really took a toll on my body . Prayer, persistence, discipline, diet and exercise. There's no other way.
To save all your videos, just say, eat less, cut out junk food, exercise daily...and that's it.. as an instructer, you don't look that fit, to be honest...
Hi, you seem a little chubby for reason. For me, to keep thin, i just eat less, keep off fatty well-known foods, and exercise daily. that's it....you make it sound so complicated... you looked too pumped up, and when you stop that muscle will turn into fat.... I say, just keep fit, exercise, eat well...end of story.
Well said and I completely agree, but I would just like to add a disclaimer that I think even Steve would agree with: This video does NOT mean every fat person you see lacks discipline/is lazy. Just felt that needed to be added.
lol you tell em steve, its as simple as dont buy the food and it wont be in the house, dont pick it up and dont eat it - nothin forcin them to eat it, good job tellin em straight.
I always get a kick out of people that talk about their diet as if its some unfortunate feature of their personality that simply cannot be changed. "I wish i could loose weight, but I love to eat!" I always say, so do I, but I choose NOT to be fat.
There are lots of people who do not want to hear these cold hard facts! They are always searching for the revolutionary breakthrough pill, drink or gadget that will do all the work for them without changing their lifestyle one bit!
Steve! I am Jun from your forum, I can't post anything there right now as you are probably dealing with the spamming problem. I totally disagree with this episode. Why? Because I think those people are like me, after losing lots of weight through too strict diets and exercises, we finally lost ourselves and fell into binge eating disorder. I just read binge eating disorder through and it isn't what we want! We need help and support! Not sarcasm or discrimination! I am just as helpless now...

lets say i sleep all day and i wake up at 9 pm. then i eat 800 calorie burger. then go to sleep right after
its still under my daily calorie intake but i sleep right after.. so do i gain weight from that?
thank you
