I think abrunke is right about the path thing. Trains cannot go into a wall, or a ditch, or down the side of a highway, or into the vertical center of a cliff. im not trying to start an arguement but, y woudl someoen want to pretend to drive/control or w.e a train? you cant CHOOSE YOUR OWN PATH, it dowsnt rele take all that much skill of a fligth simulator or even a boat simulator, i have FS2004 FS- PACIFIC BATTLE AND FSX nad i rele find it WAYYYY more interesting than trains, but thats MY OPINION

Eheh...every people has their favourite tastes: to me it is an ecstasy to construct Junctions, Stations with the appropriate number of tracks, Intersections (even with bridges) and Time Tables.

All of these things, I cannot find in a Flight Sim, that's why I prefer trains.

@abrunke There is more to driving trains than meets the eye. For example, keeping to a timetable, controlling a heavy train on a steep gradient and monitoring steam pressure and other variables. There is also coordination of other trains.

Also, in Trainz you are required to operated  points levers, so you can choose your own path.
