I competed against jeff at a local shoot in cal about 3 years ago. he beat the hell out of me that day. Trust me he is not disabled. I have total admiration for jeff and all others with so called disablities

I agree. Too much stuff. I have been an archer for over 40 years. I won 3rd place several years ago, in South Carolina U.S.A. and was the ONLY one to shoot instinctive. I think we may be missing the point. They are disabled, so part of the fun they are having is probably playing with all the junk. Also, the "pro" look matters to many, disabled or not. Long live the "purists" in all of our interests.

I did this, in fact at age 13 I came in 9th place in the New England amateur shoot, about 400 contestants and no one under the age of 25, most middle aged. I gave it up because of all the white trash in archery, and the scientific bows and stabilizers and sights and bubble levelers...gimmie a fuckin break. The sport has become gadget happy (more money in it that way) and if you can't hit the bullseye with that shit then you REALLY suck. The more gadgets you need the less talent you have, period.

There are lots of factors. Some of these people have CP, one person is missing an arm. Although they should be allowed to compete with the olympic team this gives them more of equal field by competiing with others like themselves.

It could also give them some form of advantage. Why assume that if someone is disabled in one aspect of their life, they are disabled in other aspects?

@shadowmanipulator006 ....I agree completely. I'm a para...and I shoot longbows and horsebows. (traditional/ancient) I don't do ANY "handicap" sports or events....I try to just do normal things with average people. I try to keep the "handicapped" issue to a minimum.

Now there is one HUGE factor in your question. Standing up gives a HUGE angle advantage over those sitting. Trust me...it's so. Try throwing darts at your local pub sitting...and see if it doesn't have an impact:)
