You mean simple fading like in WMM?Just put a little of the clip on another and then point your mouse on the upper angle of the moment where they touch and you will see a sign looking like angle.Press the mouse and move it.

Then you need several tracks.You make masking on the top and below put moments which you need.One is faces like there and second some kind of background.One of this tracks must be transperent.

For masking go Pan/Crop and below put ticket near writing Mask and press on it =) To learn more about masking it would be easier to see a tutorial XD
