  • This bring back fond memories of my late husband John Somers,he used 2 have them trousers(oxford bags) braces, platforms, his mate used 2 have a top hat with mirrors on,great memories, barbie.

  • One of the first records I bought way back in '72. Still sounds fresh after all these years.

  • this was recorded at the rainbow theatre in london in 1972, i was in the front row, was only 14 years old, met them afterwards at a party upstairs, an experience i wll never forget.

  • @debcobweb1 Hello Debcobweb. What a fantastic memory. As a Slade fan since 1971 I'd love to hear more about it. Can you be seen in the crowd? Do you have any photos?

    Regards, Pez

  • @bigmagic96 hi bigmagic96, i did not have a camara at that time, but don powell gave me his drumsticks at the end of the gig, which i still have in my loft, with all my posters and magazines. i have been rewinding the clip but i cant see me, i was directly in front of jimmy lea. I met them a further 4 times, at wembley, and when they made a film in the east end of london. they were really lovely lads. don powell and dave hill are still together in slade and i met them a 2 years in kings lynn.

  • Can't you see what I mean, she's a queen, and I know.... SHE'S ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT !

  • Knoddy Holder is the greatest singer of all time. I would hire him immediately for my band. Detroit.

  • legend goes that jim lea has got the music and says to noddy the song is about a girl called jane so noddy sings `hello t`jane`jim says no its a sad song so noddy sings `gudbuy t`jane`.`

  • GOD BLESS NODDY AND THE BOYS!

  • great band

  • Best party band ever?

  • Oh hell yeah :D

  • Great clip..too bad it's dubbed with the studio recording. I would have loved to hear what they acually sounded like during this show. Judging by the audience it must have been great.

  • I think it's such a shame that Slade never did achieve the same kind of success in Canada and the U.S. as they did in Britan and Europe. I remember when they had a hit with "RUN RUNAWAY" in the early 80's, they were supposed to open for Ozzy on his Bark At The Moon tour but they ended up canceling out because Jim Lea was sick...so Ratt ended up filling the void..and they got booed off the stage. Everybody that night agreed that Slade would have been better.

  • @Vatch1966 funny you said that. Kevin Dubrow ( passed away) from Quiet Riot( I saw them live 1983)covered a few, maybe just two Slade songs, and he sings with the same type of energy and style, but the singer( name? I am new to Slade. Thanks Youtube!) Slade is cool. Slade is playing in Emmendingen, Germany this July, and I'm going to check 'em out. I live in Germany, former San Franciscan.

  • Wicked, my favourite slade song

  • i like this song...

  • Got to be the best music clip on you tube! It's a bit before my time but it's fantastic honest rock 'n' roll. Utterly brilliant!

  • @stratmanuk hey man, lots of thing going on before us.. like Frank, Stooges, and Doors... forget a bout it, as we say in Jersey. what counts, you like Slade, we like Slade. good enough.

  • @stratmanuk You got that right!! Glad you appreciate it.

Long live The Mighty Slade !!
