  • I like all of her music, she was thin back at the beginning of her career ,but now she is a bbw...I have seen one of her recent photos in a tabloid, you know those paparazzis are relentless.

  • @blkpopeye Never understood why she never married. An interesting & special person, to be sure. Apparently she has some type of disorder that relates to her weight gain(?), but can't help but feel that having lived "alone" all her life, she might have tried to fill the void w/food, as so many do. I'll always love her anyway though... a successful, talented, sensitive female performer who managed to find her niche, & make a huge impact, without being an angry, man-hating feminist w/an attitude.

  • Does anyone know who she's with from 4:07 to 4:31, where a guy is playing drums and she's banging on a bell(?) and smiling?? I'm really curious what the occasion is, and who the lucky guy is, because she's looking at him rather amorously... :O)) As a guitarist, I would have loved to play with her (no pun intended), and to see those big brown beautiful eyes gazing at me as we made beautiful music together!! If anybody has any idea who/when/where that clip is from, please let us know... Thanks.

  • @bookguitarguy That is Russell Kunkel who played drums for Jackson Browne, James Taylor and Linda.

  • @emjee Thanks a lot, I appreciate it emjee. Didn't know Russ wore his hair that short!! I still wish I'd been on that stage, with or without my guitar, and she'd been looking at me that way. Those eyes... :O| Thanks.

  • linda i left for traitor bush i know now what u knew then...... sorry .... u are my all time fav woman singer........and i am a straight woman

  • Really. I'm sorry I started this. But, if you love music, you owe it to yourself to check out some of the great bios and to see what motivated Lennon, McCartney, Springsteen, Dylan, and almost every other rocker. They are very deeply moved by social issues and it comes out in every note of their music . From the sound of your passion, I'll bet you would enjoy it. I know. I'm sounding condescending. I was mean-spirited and snide with my first comments. You can blast me with the last word.

  • I apologize as well. The last thing I want to do is get into a pissing contest with someone I dont even know. Sometimes I get too caught up in it and it just kind of spirals out of control. I appreciate your comment.

  • @napping7321 Nice to see you guys make up. :O) I too get pretty worked up on certain subjects, & have blasted my share of people on YouTube-like morons who tear down Amy Winehouse after she's died, & have fun mocking her suffering. Linda really wasn't very political during most of her career (outwardly, at least), focusing mostly on human feelings/love etc & making good music. When she DID exercise her freedom of speech she was blasted by fascist CENSORS-but pro-war flag-waving artists are FINE!

  • I'm feeling a strange chemistry with you. Would you like to get together to see where this might lead? Meet me at the Piggly Wiggly on the corner of Redneck and Trailer Park at noon. Don't be late. BTW--your spelling isn't the problem. So grammar aint your thing? Who cares. See you at noon. I'll be wearing a bikini top and cut offs. Lighten up. I'm just joshin' with you. I'm sure you're a good egg if you love Ronstadt. She's the best!

  • Man, you really think that your the clever dick dont ya?....You think that you just slay people with your brilliantly, witty and insightful comments. You assume everyone on youtube are thick airheads and that you and you alone can enlighten them with your stunning genius..well, you play your little game, and sit there with your dictionary by your side, and build yourself up by tearing others down..but truth be known, I doubt that your intellect is superior to water plankton...!

  • "that's" "it's" (that is, it is) Back to school non stop.

  • BTW--it's "you're" (contraction for "you are") not "your" (which is possessive.) Maybe I do have a superior intellect. Just maybe.

  • what loser...goes to youtube sites and plays spellchecker....the only thing you have superior clown, is your greatly overestimated opinion of yourself...not to mention a monsterously overinflated ego...do you truly believe someones politics have anything to do with their talent..?...shouldnt you be out on a ledge somewhere?

  • Exactly. Thanks for the precise response I was expecting. You have greatly enhanced my study of the stifled conservative mind. And why do you suppose that every great singer/artist is liberal? Oh wait you guys have Mel Gibson and Drew Carey.

  • Linda was and still is my favorite female singer. Yes, like some I don't like her politics but I love her. Hell, I don't like my sister's politics either but I see her once a week. There are more important things in life than politics. I look for things that bring us together, like love of great music, rather than things that divide us. Vote your conscience and love your neighbor.

  • Here Here...!

  • Her politics ARE what make her music great. Conservatives are dweebs--always on the outside looking in. God and Jesus and Buddha and everything good are a part of great artists like Linda Ronstadt. Don't expect you to understand. Maybe the next time around.

  • That is quite possibly..THE dumbest comment ever made in Youtube...Her politics have NOTHING to do with what makes her music great..Thats just incredibly ridiculous...Your trying to come off as this superior intellect, when in fact, its just making you look a clueless moron...Dont expect you to understand though...Maybe next time around..!

  • i like that purple outfit she wears in one of the scenes. you should put the title and lyrics of your song in the video description.

  • I always thougt Linda is a professional Singer. Did she a good job? I think she did a great job. And what please has all this to do with her privat live? Or with her very own Healt Condicions? If anybody here dont like her, just dont listen to her musik and keep his mouth shut.

  • Shows like American Idol, and specifically the Susan Boyle episode, have shown that there are a great many people who have lots of talent. It is very likely that there were other singers in America or Europe during Ronstadt's heyday that werer as good as her, but those women were not as hot nor as beautiful and thus were not as likely to become stars.

    -

It did not hurt Ronstadt's career that in addition to being a great singer, she was also a smoking hot babe in her 20's.

  • I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • Definitely one of the most beautifull singers in history. Both her voice and physically. Nobody compares. My god those eyes!

  • Thanks NonStopRocker, Linda is also my all time favourite female singer and this is a beautiful tribute

  • shes an angel

  • mamacita,,,,, wonderful ,angel.....

  • shes so pretty, n sing as the angels

  • @NonStopRocker sorry, that was a stupid comment.

  • Comment removed

  • I would love to hear Linda Ronstadt and The Dixie Chicks record something. She had to be a big influence.

    Patti, austin, TX

  • I always loved her voice...don't always agree with her politics, but hey, its America and that's allowed. Musically, I think she's impeccable and in her prime she was quite a knockout - those eyes and lips!

  • Linda is pushing 64 now and has gotten old like everyone if they are lucky. She will always be my first choice for female singer and the best looking woman ever ,,damn she is just the best,,even today and always helping her cause.

  • She looks like a real person today. I never cared for her when I was a teenager - but now? She's speaking truth to justice about immigration.

She needs to run for Governor of Arizona.

  • @MsMollyBS ,,Linda ronstad is one of the most gorgeous women on the planet right from her heart. No others ever will be anywhere near her class.

  • Mi cantante mujer favorita tambièn.

  • I didn't see a note about the band playing this song. I thought it was kind of catchy. It's "Don't Look So Surprised" by Vicious Vicious

  • She's my favorite singer,as well! She is gorgeous, no matter what! Especially when she sports the mariachi outfit!

  • A very pretty and uplifting song. The instruments are beautiful, as is the song.

Has anyone ever noticed how eerily similar in total appearance Linda, Agnetha and Olivia N-J, and Beverly Bivens are in their respective beauty?

Those are my opinions of course, but I prefer the classic beauty to that of gaga: she chose the correct name.

And amazingly, each of these women are the more casual type at home, not the fake and over produced "beauty" of say, Madonnna.

    Joseph F

  • So beautiful

  • The best musicians lined up to play with her and the best songwriters wanted her to do their songs.Even the Stones loved her version of Tumblin Dice, and Jagger did it with her live.Even with all the vocal enhancers and other tech gear available today, few,if any, could touch her live performances.

As for her private life, maybe she should have hooked up with Larry Craig,or Mark Foley,or Ted Haggert.Oh,wait.That wouldn't have worked, would it?

  • Wow! U did an amazing job.

  • I love the quality of acoustics you have produced-excellent work!

My brother was 6 years older then me and I always wondered the infatuation; it has become obviously more apparent now

  • Right now as I write this comment, I am looking at a large airbrushed portrait of gorgeous Linda hanging on my wall. I bought this in Mexico 32 yrs ago & it is stunning & so life-like. Beautiful lady & a great talent, just love her !!!!!!!!!

  • Is she still alive??

  • very much

  • absolutely

  • After reading a number of these comments, some tearing Linda apart and some building her up, why not just enjoy one of the sweetest angels of entertainment, EVER?

Maybe listen to Ann Wilson of Heart perform her version of 'Tell It Like It Is' if you'd like another example of 'simply the best'.

Who's the smokin' hottest guitarist, Jimmy Page or Henry Garza? You've gotta love both of 'em.........

  • I really don't agree with any of her liberal views. But I served in the Marine Corps to guarantee her right to have those views! But her political views and her music are two different things.

She was, is and always will be my favorite singer of all time. I don't give a damn if she weighs 500 lbs!

  • @MultiBaldEagle haha

  • @MultiBaldEagle Good for you, refreshing to hear an intelligent, insightful comment fm a guy who sounds like he has a real heart. this progressive feminist is really proud of you

  • she couldnt help her weight gain its a medical condition I dont think shes ugly at all...whats revolting is the way you think of people!...hope people talk more kindly of you if you live to be her age.

  • @NiteAngel SHE still BEATS THE HELL OUT OUT OF BRITNEY SPEARS. HANGING WITH PARIS HILTON. GOING OUT IN PUBLIC HALF NAKED DRUGS ETC ETC. LINDA NEVER HAS TO TAKE HER CLOTHS OFF TO SELL A SONG.

  • Nite Angel,

You are ignorant belief, get bent.

  • @TheLimberlostGirl Linda got hooked up with that discussing revolting coke druggie womanizing peace of shit Gov of CA oh whats his name LOL Jerry Brown, so what do you expect a women to look like after a life time being with a bunch of creepy men, sounds like you know

  • LOL you to like to get hooked up with revolting discussing men

  • @NonStopRocker good for you.... almost 30 yrs ago Linda was worth $40,000,000. So she's laughin all the way to the bank. She's happy and has 2 adopted children, I think, or at least one. She lives in San Francisco. She was a guest on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell me on Sat. morning NPR a couple of yrs ago. She's so smart, and really funny.

  • @NonStopRocker The medical condition is called "age". We all get it if we live. It just affects people in different ways. Some get fat. Some get wrinkled. Some get feeble. Some get fat, wrinkled, and feeble. But, If you live long enough, you will get it.

  • @ernlay In a certain way you are right. Different systems fail in different people with age. But her condition is really an autoimmune disease. The immune system starts attacking the thyroid tissue, leading to failure of the thyroid. Failure of the thyroid leads to many body dysfunctions, including heart failure if not controlled.

  • Worse than that, she started screwing Govenor Moonbeam Jerry Brown and joined his liberal orgies, political and sexual.

    I loved her until then.

  • @NiteAngel

Those who let an artist's politics turn them off to their talent only cheat themselves. I'm a liberal but if I let that dictate my tastes, I would have missed Mel Gibson's great film Apocolypta. Ronstadt may be 63 and overweight, but in my mind she'll always be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and the greatest singer.

  • I agree with your points about their politics. And we should also knock off the hyphenated -American stuff and come together as Americans.

  • Linda is hands down the most versitile female singer off all-time, not even close

  • LOVELY !

    Joy

  • First off her name is "Marie" Osmond not Maria...2nd..the first line of your comment makes zero sense...whos doin what for who?..and lastly Marie Osmond is still alive and kicking and selling "Nutrisystem Weight Loss" all over the tv...

  • Love those hoop earrings!

  • Linda looks a lot like Maree Osmond in some shots

  • Linda was my ultimate fantasy in high school, man....gorgeous

  • The voice and face of an angel

The voice and face of perfection

  • Shouldn't he audio be Linda?

  • look down about 27 comments ago and I explain it all.

  • Look at the photo at 1:06. Have you ever seen a more gorgeous woman? Fabulous voice, incredible beauty. A talent that has lasted through five decades.

  • You aint kidding!

  • Enchanting...thats it....and its not just the 60's goddess thing....it so much more...its the fact that she is all of the amazing things she is...and all the while she is a human being like all the rest of us. Thats the most amazing thing about her. That IMHO, is the "something" that you alluded to mlc.

  • The sad thing is, most people cant help but respond with adoration(at best) and curiosity that prompts prying (at worst) to an archetype come to life in their midst. To look at her, to hear her sing, is to witness the realization of a soul image in flesh and blood; such a vision takes us beyond ourselves for a moment.

Linda was the archetypal Sixties woman, and she bore that mantle with grace and a humbleness that made her all the more enchanting.

  • Love it! I'm glad you love Linda so much... I do too. There's just something about her (of course her incredible voice has a LOT to do with it)!!!!! Great tribute.

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • Damn she good enough to eat,i want her on my plate.

  • Why aren't we listening to linda during this video???

  • I explained it all about 17 comments ago.

  • So was sooooooooo beautiful ! :)

  • You know whats sad? Dont get me wrong, there are some great singers these days; But none compare to that era of someone like Linda Ronstadt, one of many, when using your voice was more of the music, other than using computer generated sounds and music. Their voices WERE the sound you heard! And when they were on stage singing, be it concert or on tv ( 20 yrs ago) thats the biggest thing you paid attention to. The sound of her voice!.....

  • I agee with ya....100%

  • I've been a big fan of LInda since I first heard Different Drum, when it first came out, but Allison Krause is a bit better.

  • The composer is always the best...rite? Anyone with a good voice can improve but it will always be just an imitation of the Real Art Work.

  • No, not always. The Beatles covers were better. The Byrds covers of Dillon songs were better, and Linda's Different Drum is better. Also, Allison Krause's cover of Down in the River to Pray can't be bettered bu anyone, ever.

  • Easy to fall in love

  • Believe it or not when LInda was still in high school she was a blonde once!!

  • What a honey! She puts all the blondes on the trailer.

Oh, by the way, she's got the greatest voice of the 20th century.

  • Best Lips and Eyes!

  • great job, she rocks!!

  • Great video Tim!!

    Just amazing! what a sensibility!!

    Linda is wonderful, she's forever!

  • I love the song. Spill it. Artist, song, etc... And always, love Linda, cool video.

  • I actually really like the song you used. Would you mind telling me what it's called/who it's by?

  • totally yummy woman !

  • really great collection...what an angel

  • Thank U

  • Linda and Zevon.

  • I grew up on her music, she is somethnig..the one that make this video..man..you did a god job..

  • Sorry bout the Super Velveeta cheesy song. But once again, corporate big brother says I cant use "Tracks of my Tears" in my video. Even though, it is simply a tribute to Linda and her music, and I dont make dime one on it. Apparently, I got some big wigs underwear all bunched up. Sorry I hurt your song mister. Now you can buy that extra tin of caviar! Theres still a lot of good pics and vids of Linda, and if the song makes you ill, Put a Linda song on your CD player and enjoy! ....NonStopRocker

  • Ah Linda, How do she does now?

  • That was wonderful......She sings like no other.....Easy on the eyes, too!

  • She has the voice of an angel

  • Her best song is love is a rose!

  • She is still awesome in the music world!

  • I still know the words to ALL her tunes...also I hold a "crush" for LR...none better...thank you

  • 0:47 is a bit strange...but the music is priceless. Thanks.

  • great pix and music by linda :)

  • Linda como su nombre su voz y su corazon

  • Simply the best. Period.Great Video!

  • Anybody know if she ever got married? She always said that John David Souther was the love of her life but that was way back in her "Hasten Down the Wind" days. Those two sang well together tho.

  • Last I heard about her love life she was living with George Lucas of Star Wars fame; but she adopted a kid according to a news article; but there were no mention about him.

  • adopted a kid?...I wonder if George's little light sabre isn't using the force? Or maybe her blue bayou is as fertile as a stone poney?

  • Come on Bill

  • Love Linda

  • Today's female vocalists should pay close attention....

THIS lady is a singer, not some painted up hussy who has to rely on her body and voice altering machines to sell records.

No one will ever come close to matching Ronstadt's talent or body of work.

  • I saw her in concert in the 70's, and it still stands at the best concert I ever saw. She was incredible, and she totally blew the house down. Her voice sent shivers down people's bakc. People were crying without meaning to, it was that intense. When she sang "heart like a wheel," you could have heard a pin drop.

  • God she is so awesome.

  • She's awesome and this covers nothing of her Spanish albums and other language releases. Madonna and the others have nothing like this. She reigns supreme. Awesome!!!

    sAm:)

  • Great video! She is my favorite singer! I love her voice.

  • Fabulous voice , and a very beautiful woman, gorgeous.

Linda, you`re so great, i love you!

  • A crime that she is still not in the so called Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Ridiculous.

  • Isn't she more country than rock and roll?

  • I love, love, love Linda. She is and always be my favorite singer.

  • thanks! still looking for Linda-Randy Newman-Ry Cooder sing Rider in the Rain.

  • Fantastic footage and songs / who ever put this togeter , well done.

  • One of the greatest popular singers ever -- probably the best of the last four decades. Have seen her in person three times (including just a few years ago) and she sounds even better in person. It IS a travesty she's not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, even though her talent transcends that genre.

  • Great video, some really nice pictures and songs..anyone that loves Linda should also check out her more current (somewhat anyway) suff. she still sounds GREAT.. CD's like "feels like home" "winterlight" and "western wall" (with Emmylou) are all fantastic!

  • Linda's a legend!

  • I love her too. Do you know if there's a video of her singing "Still Within the Sound of My Voice" and/or "Different Drum" (without the Stone Ponies)?

  • Nice vid! Do you know what TV presentation is that in minute 0:31, or where to find that video? THANKS in advance!

  • That was Linda on "Hee Haw"...around 1972 or 73 im guessin...mighta been earlier....I found it on a page called "Lindas Vids"....hope that helps ya...!

  • Thanks for you help, we got it!

  • Thanks for your help, we got it!

  • yes this is really good, really enjoyed every bit of it. I just wish it was 1975 all over again!

  • Interestingly, several years ago I seem to recall her being called the "female Eagle" as she hung out (and dated, I believe) Don Henley and Eagles.

  • The Eagles were her backup band.

  • This is such a great video. I think she has the best female voice ever! No one, not even Mariah Carey can sing like her!

  • what is the name of the song on 3:32 min?

what happened to linda? where she is?

  • The name of the song at 3:32 is "Just One Look"

Google Linda Ronstadt, you'll find her.

  • The BEST!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA RONSTADT!!!

  • A total Pro!

  • Lovely Linda!!

  • Sexy great voice I wish she still was on the road. And every red blooded man will never forget her on the cover of R/S in that red teddy.Thats crap shes not in the hall.

  • God she is so awesome. My favorite female singer of all time. If she's not in the Hall, then it's a Hall of Shame. I can't stop watching these videos! Good thing my wife's not home, LOL.

  • She's not in the Hall of Fame because Jann Wenner is a mad queen.

  • This is a great tribute...we miss you Linda, come on back...the young female singers of today are almost comical in comparison (if some of the are actually singing)...should be a no-brainer for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...the biggest female act of the 1970's, should easily be in the Hall...we love you Linda..

  • Wow! I had almost forgotten how many great songs she had.

  • Her range is incredible, she was the first female artist in popular music with a 5 octive range. Before Whitney, Mariah, and Celine!!!

  • Linda and my 1st ex-wife could have been twins in the 70s. They looked so much alike back then. BEAUTIFUL!! She and Karen Carpenter are the 2 best female vocalists in history! Great tribute video. Well done!

  • She looked just like my cousin-in-law.

  • With-out a Doubt Linda Ronstadt the Greatest Female County pop singer of her time and maybe of all time. She had it all!! Beauty ,Brains, Sexy beyond words, and a voice to rock you or melt you,so to speak the total package in a sweet little doll. NonStopRocker TY for posting this just awesome.

  • First lady of rock, and pop"s most successful solo female of all time..

With out doubt! hall of fame material...

  • she's the most successful to me, because she's not only sold a ton of records and albums, but has won many awards, and has had success in about EVERY music category. That is pure success than no other female artist has matched in Popular music. Believe me, once she is gone (god forbid) her albums will sell on the scale of Elvis, because of the music she's covered. She will appeal to millions for generations to come. So she is the most successful in my book.

  • Nice tribute brings back some fond memories I have of her music and a few concerts I was lucky enough to attend.

  • Linda has the best voice - my hands-down, all time favourite female vocalist. Every time I hear her voice I smile. She also is supremely gifted in selecting what to sing and with whom to sing. Would love to hear her team up with Annie Lennox. Great videos, thanks, thanks!

  • Linda Has one of the most beautiful voices of this era !!! love her !!

  • Can any fan of the most talented singer in the world the one and only Linda Ronstadt tell me why hasnt she been inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame??? other less worthy performers have..whats up with that?? anyone??

  • your beautiful !!!!

  • Excellent tribute; very well done! I can't wait to see Part 2!

  • Please put this talented performer in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's way past time.

  • I am echoing that sentiment! She's a hell of a talent.

  • what was the third song that played??

  • LetsGo: The third song is "Long Long Time"

  • One of the best video docs. I ever saw Hope you get a job doing what you love.. P.S. Linda is a lady i respect very much.

  • Linda and Sally fields favre they both were good

looking when they were young and still are. You

know that they were sex symbols back in the day. I love both of them still. When i was a kid i

had sexural thoughts about both of them wild

    times back then.

  • .. THE BEST!

  • your beautiful . all i can say is marry me
