I think that they are all well done, clean, technical and musical. But, and I know I'm gunna hear it, DCI has become very formulaic, including the drum breaks. There are alot of elements(almost cliches) that are becoming trite and tired.Every drum solo has to be accented by the pit with some atonal scale runs.I can list several more cliches. Don't all you drummers watch the "in the lot" videos more? It's almost better to hear them without all the triteness.

The only reason why BD is in first is because they are afterall, BD. Given that they have more 1st place trophies than they can count would indicate placing them in first for this video...however, even though I am a drummer and have been part of both WGI and DCI, I can't allow the Devils to recieve this title...BlueCoats got it, nuff said...and whoever disputes this claim obviously is just sad because their heroes lost for once...

I'm sorry, but posting a link to a judge's tape doesn't prove BD's break isn't dirty. It sounds cleaner because the mic he is speaking into is only picking up a few of the snares. Don't get me wrong, it was cleaner in person than it is in this video, but it wasn't THAT clean.

People hate on BD for the same reason people hate the Yankees or Lakers or anyone or any group that is constantly in the # 1 spot. Its Envy, its smallness, and it says more about the inadequacies of the person doing the hating than it does about the object of their hate. Personally loved all of these Breaks, BD's seemed the most challenging. I heard no dirt, nor hair but then again I wasnt looking for it because Im no hater.

there was fun and games but when it got down to buisness we got serious

i heard the some bands just play and go home

we played marched ran worked out and we ran laps when we messed up so we

@henrygillardlive To be fair that ksjjg23 is right. No one actually listens to drum breaks anymore. Drum Corps is all politics now...It's all about who can throw more money at DCI who wins, hence BD. And by no means is BD not good, but I'm sure you don't agree with some of the drum breaks put in the order that they were for this video. It just disappoints me to see these great drumlines not get ranked well in the video when judges say differently.

They have been around since 1957. The reason it seems like they came out of no where is because they weren't very successful competitively in the 90s and early 2000's. They ended up taking 2006 off to reorganize. Due to this, they came back a lot stronger and "came from no where."

The bluecoats sounded dirty on the DVD but on the judges tape you can really see how clean that whole closer was. I think they deserved at least 2nd in perc for 09. And I'm not sure Phantom's line in 2010 deserved 1st but I wasn't on the field. I thought the bluecoats and cavies were better if you include total package with the pit. But I'm not a judge. Cool video!
