Oh yes, how well I remember Wendy and the Sunlighters. If only we still had this kind of singing in our churches....God Bless You for posting. Looking forward to more of this type postings.
@carl2010ist First i am sorry to hear about your precious loved one.Yes it is a great song and I have heard it done at many funerals played from the cd or tape by Wendy Bagwell and alsop live singers ,however I do not think I have ever heard anyone do it as well as WB & S
Absolutely amazing!!!! What a blessing that they let you post this on youtube. Is it late 50's or early 60's? "Mull's Singing Convention " used to have Windy Bagwell and the Sunlighters on their program so many years ago. What a blessing you are Brother Arvin! Don't take too long on your hair. LOL
I have loved 3 or 4 songs by this group for over 50 years. I saw them in person in 1963 at the All Night Sing at the Rymen in Nashville, TN. They sang I Firmly Promise You that night. I wonder if someone could post Walk Around My Bedside Lord. Thank You very much.
hi bill if you will email me i have the cd of the song , i firmly promise you , my mother passes away monday and we buried her thursday , will be happy to send it to you , email me at indianwife2010@yahoo.com
No. The woman on the left is Jerri Morrison. She was a true Southerner from the greate state of Georgia! She just has a deeper tone. It sounds different in their more recent albums.
thanks for the info....Miss Morrison was quite a Georgia peach by the way...Wendel Bagwell was very fortunate to work with such talent and such beauty !!
Bro. Wynn, I LOVE all your videos that y'all post on YouTube, and I am so glad I get to see these. I have seen a lot of these growing up, but thought that they were lost forever, I am so glad I get to re-watch them in my older age! Thanks for all you do.
praise the lord this song has been a blessing in our church for years....we have seen many souls saved during the singing of the song. Praise his Name I firmly promise you
It just doesn't get any better than that! Wendy Bagwell and the Sunlighters are the tops when it comes to Southern Gospel harmony!! This is my favorite song of theirs. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you for watching and yes I do plan to feature some more Wendy Bagwell I have one color tape I am yet to find and when I do I will add another. I like you always enjoyed them so much.
THANK YOU so much for psoting this. I didn't get to know Wendy and the Sunliters music till the mid 70's so this is such a treat! Wonderful group! Hope there's more of them coming.
