  • i never heard of the golf war. . .

  • FAKE

  • @muetter you honestly can't be that retarded.

  • @kurnellampdwarf if it's real then where are the doors?

  • @muetter THEY DONT HAVE DOORS YOU FUCKING RETARD. Jesus christ I'm fucking shocked at how stupid you are. It's a recon helicoper, the pilot needs to see everywhere and thus obviously that chopper won't have a door to block his view. Look up the Littlebird, it has no doors either.

Holy fuck, how stupid are you.

  • @kurnellampdwarf what's with the language? I just think that it looks kinda CGI/ the sound doesn't match the image (like it was dubbed). Also, If the pilot needs to see then why can't he just roll the window down and? Couldn't he just get a clear plastic door instead? Next you're going to tell me that planes also fly without doors. Plus, pilots don't need to look out the windows anyways- that's what instruments are for! ;) I still call FAKE on this one.

  • @muetter You are so fucking stupid, honestly you should kill yourself. I hate retards like you the most.

  • @muetter I flew in during the Golf War, I've been flying the Kiowa for about 8 years now. I would like to tell you that you are a fucking idiot, as kurnellampdwarf said, that is a real Kiowa. They don't have doors because they are really light choppers, that is also how the chopper really sounds when it spools up. Lastly, how in the world does this look CGI? It's real, you must be pyscho or paranoid.

  • agreed the whining of a jet engine is a truly mesmerizing sounds

  • nothing like the sound of a jet engine winding up slowly, gets the blood going, if you are into aviation like me.

  • @manga12 man you said it especially if its an awesome bird like this one!

  • Used these with the 9th MI Company in the 70s for cammo evaluation, drop zone studies, landing strip studies and basic surveilliance. Lots of fun.

  • My dad flew a kiowa warrior in korea in the late 80's i guess. He said there was nothing like it

  • I flew OH-58A and C models back in the early 80's. I was with the 11th Cavalry Regiment flying border patrol on the East-West German border in Fulda FRG (back when there was one). It was a great helicopter. The A models were pretty underpowered - if I recall they had a 317 hp Allison C20 turbine, and the C's had a 420 hp C20 R engine. They are not exactly the same as the 206. the tailboom and main rotors were about a foot longer, bigger engine, and heavier gross weight. Man, those were the days!

  • I dont guess UNSOF knows what the CH means. they called the OH-58 a CH-136? CH stands for Cargo Helicopter. AH stands for Attack Helicopter. UH stands for Utility Helicopter. OH stands for? any body know? maybe some one that knows rotorcraft or at least have some knowledge in aviation, cause some of you have no idea what your talking bout. OH-58 is nothing more than the military verson of a bell 206B. thx Pilot of the Federal Aviation Administration.

  • Observation Helicopter??...;)

  • Yeap that is OH-58 hmm .

  • In what respects? The OH-58 is made to be a scout helicopter, not super fast or carry alot of firepower. And even if you have the D model Kiowa you won't be doing all out gun runs taking out Armored vehicles. It's a perfect close support weapon for Infantry. I loved these things when I was in Iraq. Fly low, fast, and tear shit up when they needed to.

  • There are still a few OH-58A's around, mostly with the so call RAID config as seen. Althogh overwieght and underpowered with the currnet config, the Army definately got their moneys worth when they purchaced these back in 1968.

  • It is an OH-58 National Guard helicopter from their S/S Counterdrug unit. I am part of the Texas unit that uses these birds. Fun, but sadly underpowered with single engines. It is like a miata...fun to drive, but not exactly a something you roll up next to a corvette in.

  • what does S/S mean and what kind of missions do these helicopters do generally

  • Geeeeze, the OH-58A/C model! Haven't seen those birds in the air in some time! I remember the Canadian Armed Forces used the OH-58A, called it the CH-136 Kiowa, they actually fitted a belly mounted Mini-Tat GAU-2B/A 7.62mm machine gun on it... got the pic, although, I don't know how it would land with that thing! The new 4 bladed OH-58D models are kickin ass in Iraq thow!

  • The Kiowa warrior is an excellent helo old to if im correct its been in service since vietnam if you like join my avation group you can just go on my profile clik groups and join from there hope you join c u ther
