Where did JESUS say that he was Equal to God? I know what the 'Very Wrong' Jews said, but what did JESUS himself say? Why are you taking what the wicked Jewish men in the account said and putting it over what Jesus himself said? JESUS did not say he was equal even once..... The wicked Jews did, and you are to, it would seem.....
@david42262 if you read John 5:18 again, you will notice that there are no quotations, it was the Apostle John who was giving his commentary, not the Jews.
And 1 John 4:121 and Jn 1:18 reveals through the full context of these verses to be talking about the Father not the Son. Infact, jn1:18 says, the Son is the "only begotten God." (notice not "a god".) Jn 1:18 is really saying, "No man has seen God...", then, goes on in the same verse to call the Son, "God".
The point is not that we honor Jesus as tho he is equal to the father..we honor the son because he is FROM the father. So, showing honor to the son IS honoring the father. If Jehovah sent a representative to you, to give you a message, you would honor that one just as if he were Jehovah..for he is bringing you a message directly FROM Jehovah. Jehovah sent his son..and has bestowed upon him the kingship and authority..so honoring the son as the one from Jehovah, is honoring Jehovah.
Revelation 4:11 says that Jehovah is worthy to receive all the honor. That means that he gets %100. There can't be more than %100 percent. If the Bible teaches that Jehovah should receive all of the honor why would it contradict itself? By honoring Jehovah, Jesus is honored as being his faithful King.
When we look at the Bible we see that the number 7 is God's divine number. It signifies perfection and completeness in God's eyes.
Currently there are over 7 million people soon to be in number 7,777,777 (7x7) who are a witness (7 letters) about God's name Jehovah (7 letters) who obey Jesus and "Preach the Good News of the Kingdom" (7 words) and the word Kingdom is 7 letters!!
this is another nail on the coffin for the trinity, "all may honor the son just as the father" the sentence is separating them as two separate people but says they should get the same honor. now we know the bible says "those who have seen me (jesus) have seen the father", people often say that this means... THEY MUST BE ONE!! but no jesus is a perfect -reflection- of his father, since all the eons Jesus has spent with his father. jesus is deserving of all the praise but not all the -worship-
I talk to JW's all the time, my best friend is a JW. How can you possibly have a relationship with someone you not only don't talk/pray to, but even refuse to talk/pray to?
JW are Christians like you, but their interpretations of the Bible is just like your own Christian ministers & pastors who are still fighting over their own. And FYI, leave the judging job to Jesus Christ.
A Christian is someone who puts their faith in Christ himself, not someone puts their faith in the works of Christ, or merely believes that the Bible is the written word of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses put their faith in the works of Christ not Christ himself. This is why they are not Christians.
SO, WHO DO YOU HONOR, PRAY & WORSHIP? GOD THE SON? OR THE ONLY GOD THAT JESUS HONORS, PRAYS & WORSHIPS?
Jehovah's Witnesses, The Amish, etc.. are Christians too just like you, but as commonly shared & fought-out among Christians, their interpretations of The Bible are not as accurate & not as different from all Christians' beliefs. To the mainstream Christians like you, these other Christians who also believe in Jesus are all going to hell. Go figure!
There is no God the Son, this is not a biblical term, this a phase that has lead to so much confusion and misunderstanding about the trinity.
I don't know that much about the Amish, but I can tell you JW's are not Christian's they teach a completely different (in fact evil) gospel (if it can even be called that). They do not have a relationship with Christ, therefore they do not know him. Christ calls to them, are they simply refuse him.
ICHI "There is no God the Son" ...You mean there is no Jesus Christ, the Son of God? Trinity is a pagan belief adopted by some Catholic Bishops & was forced into the membership of the Church. If you refused, you would be punished even by death, so when the Protestants were thrown out of the Catholic Church, they took & adopted Trinity as their own.
Both the Amish & JW believe the Bible as the word of God & that alone made them as Christians like you. They are not evil as yourself. Go figure!
Are you attempting to place words in my mouth, or are you confused by what I mean?
I'm talking of the term "God the Son", this is not a biblical term and has created much confusion as to what the trinity is. "God the Son" makes it sound as though the Son is able to operate separately from the Father, and makes it sounds as though the trinity is three gods.
ICHI "I'm talking of the term "God the Son", this is not a biblical term" HERES MY RESPONSE TO TERM "GOD THE SON"
ICHI "There is no God the Son" ..You mean there is no Jesus Christ, the Son of God?
Does the term & title "Jesus Christ The Son of God" ring the bell? And for you to blasphemously deny the existence of God the Son is an outrage to the world of Christianity.
We live in the world that people are recognized by "TITLES" & to me thats exactly what Christians is all about titles
You are putting word in my mouth. I am not denying Jesus, I am denying the term "God the Son". I am not denying the term "Son of God" but "God the Son". Big difference. Read what people say, don't read into what they say.
ICHI "I am denying the term "God the Son".I am not denying the term "Son of God"
Whats the difference? You pray & worship the Son of God as God & not His Heavenly Father which the Son of God worships & prays. Both of these terms are the same but you're trying to prove a stupid point about an unbiblical trinity.
The difference is Jesus is part of the same God, he is not a separate one as the Mormons teach.
"You pray & worship the Son of God as God & not His Heavenly Father which the Son of God worships & prays." - This statement you have made is false. We honor the Son just as we honor the Father.
ICHI "The difference is Jesus is part of the same God, he is not a separate one"
Oh dear me, I forgot that you believe in a god with a body which has three heads, named Father, Son & Holy Ghost, & so huge that would cover the whole universe & so tiny that he can even dwell in your heart. What a monstrous god you have ICHI & what kind of image that you were created with?
This is not and nothing like the God of the Trinity, the God of the bible, that I refer to.
"named Father, Son & Holy Ghost"
His name is Yahweh.
"So huge that would cover the whole universe & so tiny that he can even dwell in your heart"
God is spirit.
You clearly don't believe in the God of the Bible, or any god that has come from the Bible, so why are you getting yourself involved in things you neither understand or care about?
So, who do you really pray & worship? Jesus Christ? or the only God that Jesus prays & worships
There is no such thing as Holy Trinity, it's a pagan belief adopted by the Catholics Bishops, but there is the Godhead which has three members (1) God the Father (2) God the Son Jesus Christ (3) God the Holy Ghost. These are three separate beings just like us except the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit.
I pray to both, and the Holy Spirit on occasions.
How is the Holy Trinity pagan and yet the Mormon Trinity not? The Holy Trinity is misunderstood that is why people think it is pagan, but the Mormon Trinity that has no excuse. You really don't have a clue what the Holy Trinity is.
As I said you don't believe in the God of the Bible or any god that has come from the Bible.
You may ask ME for anything in my name, and I will do it. - Jesus said this in John 14:14.
No, Jesus isn't the Father, that's a Oneness belief. Jesus is of the Father, but he is not the Father. The Father is the one true God, Jesus is the living Word/Logos of the Father; spoken from eternity that brought into being the Heavens and the Earth.
JOHN.14:14 "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it" (KJV)
The word "ME" was added recently into your Bible (NIV) by a bunch of Evangelicals during the mid 60s
What Jesus said was clear that if you want to connect with His Father, He/Jesus is the only way to Him (His God) You get to God only with Jesus Christ's stamp of approval
GOD THE FATHER & SON JESUS CHRIST ARE TWO SEPARATED BEINGS....with glorified bodies of flesh & bones but the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit
Actually the word me is written in many of the oldest Greek manuscripts, you should check it out for yourself.
Jesus actually said, No one comes to the Father except through me. and then he continued If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
So how can you really know someone you don't talk to?
Jesus has a glorified body of flesh and bones. But where did you come up with the Father having a glorified body as well?
ICHI "So how can you really know someone you don't talk to?" (DO YOU KNOW WHAT FAITH IS?)
ICHI "Jesus has a glorified body of flesh and bones. But where did you come up with the Father having a glorified body as well?"
I KNOW YOU BELIEVE IN A SILENT & IN AN INVISIBLE GOD...Mormons believe in DIRECT REVELATIONS from God & they (God & Son Jesus) both appeared to the 14 year old boy (Joseph Smith) who became His Prophet of the Restoration for our days. Joseph Smith saw & talked to them.
May people struggle to understand the difference between faith and belief. Where belief is something you understand to be true, faith is put are hope and trust in someone or something. This what the Christian FAITH is all about, it's not enough just to simply believe I Jesus, we are call to die to ourselves and lean on him.
As I keep saying, you don't believe in the God of the bible or even any god that has come from the Bible.
(JOHN.14:14)..."If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it"
*NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION
(JOHN.14:14)..."You may ask ME for any thing in my name, and I will do it"
Christians often quote REV.22:18-19 directed to the Mormons for them having OTHER sets of scriptures ADDED to their search for happiness along with the Bible.
Can you see the hypocrisy with that word added?
I believe NIV was manufactured by Protestants during the 60s only to fit their own agendas.
Bloody, I do not support the trinity. But you do not have a true grasp of the meaning of the trinity. Trinitarians believe that GOD, JESUS, THE HOLY GHOST are separate but are also ONE in the same and make up the Almighty God together and are also Gods individually. Yes, it is a mystery. Keep this in mind because your debating does not make sense to them.
There is only 1 God by nature. In this nature are 3 persons: God the Father, God the Son/Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit. That is how 3 are 1. They are everlasting, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. This is the nature of God.
Thanks "The real Truth 1914", but I don't think anyone really has "a true grasp" of the trinity doctrine... How can we grasp something that doesn't exist? Its like trying to scoop up air with your hands.
I firmly believe that the trinity doctrine is a diabolically clever "teaching of demons", which has effectively relagated Jehovah/Yahweh to a position of relative obscurity... Satan is an evil genius!
Correction: Trinitarians believe that the father, the son and the holy ghost are Divine and not God individually. But together they are the Almighty GOD.
I do not take sides. I am only clarifying this to stop accusations that are made without understanding.
So typical, ... Let's look at the context, shall we? ... "He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Most truly I say to you, He that hears my word and believes him that sent me has everlasting life, and he does not come into judgment but has passed over from death to life.—John 5:19-24.
So now, please explain, if Jesus is, "just as", his father... If he is one and the same, why would Jesus continually say he was "sent" by his father?
(Matthew 15:24) 24 In answer he said: I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.. . .
(Matthew 10:40) . . .and he that receives me receives him also that sent me forth.
(Luke 4:18) . . .Jehovahs spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor, he sent me forth to preach a release to the captives. .
This one really applies to you trinitarians: (John 5:37-38) . . .Also, the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. YOU have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his figure; 38 and YOU do not have his word remaining in YOU, because the very one whom he dispatched YOU do not believe.
(John 6:44) . . .No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him. . .
(John 6:57) . . .Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father. . . (John 7:16) . . .What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me.. . . (John 7:28-29) . . .. Also, I have not come of my own initiative, but he that sent me is real, and YOU do not know him. 29 I know him, because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.. . .
(John 7:33) . . .Therefore Jesus said: I continue a little while longer with YOU before I go to him that sent me.
(John 8:29) . . .And he that sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him.. . .
(John 11:42) . . .True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.. . .
(John 12:49) . . .because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. .
Now, look at this one carefully: (John 13:16) . . .Most truly I say to YOU, A slave is not greater than his master, nor is one that is sent forth greater than the one that sent him.
I could go on and on!!!
Which serves to illustrate how ridiculous your position is!!!!!
I could make a 1,000 quick questions to every one of yours!!!!!!
The JW's theology teaches that Jesus is the archangel Michael, unless they have changed something since the last time I read about them... entirely possible.
If you don't then why would Michael do something (Rev 12, casting out Satan) that was prophesied for Jesus to do (Gen 3:15 in bruising the head of the serpent.)
No, Jesus is not an angel, or a created being. He has existed as God and with God for all eternity. He became flesh and dwelt among us, but the essence of who he is has never begun. Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting.
Well, because there is a fourth element in the "trinity" that being the son. In Hebrews, the Bible says that God "prepared a body" i.e. for Logos or the word to inhabit, and that body is the man we know as Jesus. I think the word trinity just over simplifies a vastly diverse and complex being, i.e. God.
Jesus is both man in nature and God in nature. His God nature is not THE God, but of the God/born of God (not created): the Logos that was spoken from eternity in the beginning.
What you have said is meaningless considering this is the very understanding that I have gotten from the Bible itself, not from some Creed or some old man who gets a kick out off flicking "Holy Water" over people.
To be honest the word trinity is very miss leading, even triune doesn't sum up the complexity of God.
Perhaps you could show me how it is apparently "man-made"?
Part of it is. The part of the serpent bruising the seed in the heal is about Jesus dying.
The part about "He will bruise you in the head" is first about Jesus being faithful then resurrected, then about him casting Satan out and then abyssing him.
Hebrews 2:14-15 says - Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
I think you'll find Jesus' death was the complete prophecy from Genesis 3:15.
Quick Question: Since the trinity teaches that Jesus is not the Father, why do you teach that he is the Father or that since the honor that is paid to Jesus likewise goes to the Father, you equate them?
The biblical trinity doctrine teaches that Jesus and the Father are separate persons, but that Jesus is a part of God, from the Father, who is the one and only true God (John 17:3). Jesus has been granted life in himself (John 5:26), he is the logos that was spoken in the beginning by the Father (John 1:1, Psalm 33:4-6), the firstborn of creation (Colossians 1:15) from eternity (Micah 5:2), that took upon himself the flesh of men (John 1:14, Philippians 2:7).
Why are you surprised at his answer? You should be used to that sort of response by now. In my exchanges with JWs and LDS I regularly get those kind of responses. It seems clever to them, but it's "vain deceit" to a Christian.
Opening up your Bible unfortunately will not help much since they simply change their Bible every so often to fix their mista... er I mean "further revelation"
Its amazing how the JW can not and will not submit to the scriptures. They don't even honor Jehovah for they honor the governing body above all. There final authority is not God or the scriptures, there final authority they submit to are men.
Because JWs understand the scriptures about Jesus. But what is your point of taking something that is not even controversial or misunderstood and then making it misunderstood?
Jesus in his obedience and love for Jehovah represents him perfectly, thus honor for Jesus would and should be the same as honor for Jehovah. That is what the text "if you have seen me you have seen the father" is about.
In order to talk about Jesus, you have to know something about him.
I don't see your point. Sure, we are supposed to honor the son just as the father. If we don't, we have to work on that as we have to work on everything, as you have to work on everything.
And if we don't, then we have Jesus to take care of that for us, not our bragging about what we do.
His point is that JW philosophy/doctrine states basically that Jesus is an angel, and not God or part of God. This video is showing us that Jesus is due the same honor as the father, making Him (Jesus) equal to the father. The JW Bible is a sad pathetic joke, and the victims of that joke are the poor souls who let the Watchtower do their thinking for them.
His point is wrong. Don't you see that these people who bring these dumb questions from ignorant perspectives have wrong points.
JWs do not believe that Jesus basically is an angel. Jesus is the first born of Jehovah God. The Almighty's son, his first creation. Jesus helped make the angels.
Since Jesus is the reflection of Jehovah's glory, a perfect representation of him, honoring him should be as honoring Jehovah.
"JWs do not believe that Jesus basically is an angel."
This comes from the Watchtower's official website. The article is called "The Truth About Angels" (this quote is under the subheading 'Who Are The Angels?')
"The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is the archangel, Jesus Christ, also called Michael."
Well, as I understand it, JW's also believe He is God's son and a great prophet, so when I said basically, I used the word in it's proper context and with its proper meaning. Common usage of the word is "kind of" or "somewhat" I used it correctly.
JESUS HONORED HIS FATHER. WE HONOR HIS FATHER, HE IS ALSO OUR FATHER, JEHOVAH. Jehovah made Jesus. Our faith depends on Jesus. We are his disciples. lchiddle 2 years ago
Go figure!.
leSavaii 2 years ago
I pray to both, and the Holy Spirit on occasions.
How is the Holy Trinity pagan and yet the Mormon Trinity not? The Holy Trinity is misunderstood that is why people think it is pagan, but the Mormon Trinity that has no excuse. You really don't have a clue what the Holy Trinity is.
As I said you don't believe in the God of the Bible or any god that has come from the Bible.
lchiddle 2 years ago
GODHEAD consists of three separate-beings
ICHI "I pray to both, and the Holy Spirit on occasions" (GOOD TRY...but makes things more confusing)
"I PRAY TO BOTH"?...Both Who? Jesus taught His Apostles to follow & always address their prays not to Him but to His "Father who art in heaven..."
FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN?...Isn't Jesus to you is also the Father in Heaven? That's very confusing, don't you agree?
JOHN.17...Explain who Jesus is praying to...& what these meant...JOHN.7:16 / JOHN.17:3

You may ask ME for anything in my name, and I will do it. - Jesus said this in John 14:14.
No, Jesus isn't the Father, that's a Oneness belief. Jesus is of the Father, but he is not the Father. The Father is the one true God, Jesus is the living Word/Logos of the Father; spoken from eternity that brought into being the Heavens and the Earth.
lchiddle 2 years ago
JOHN.14:14 "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it" (KJV)
The word "ME" was added recently into your Bible (NIV) by a bunch of Evangelicals during the mid 60s
What Jesus said was clear that if you want to connect with His Father, He/Jesus is the only way to Him (His God) You get to God only with Jesus Christ's stamp of approval
GOD THE FATHER & SON JESUS CHRIST ARE TWO SEPARATED BEINGS....with glorified bodies of flesh & bones but the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit
leSavaii 2 years ago
Actually the word me is written in many of the oldest Greek manuscripts, you should check it out for yourself.
Jesus actually said, No one comes to the Father except through me. and then he continued If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
So how can you really know someone you don't talk to?
Jesus has a glorified body of flesh and bones. But where did you come up with the Father having a glorified body as well?
lchiddle 2 years ago

By the why my God is far from silent.
lchiddle 2 years ago
ICHI "By the why my God is far from silent"
Okay, when was the last time God talked to a Christian?
leSavaii 2 years ago
God speaks in powerful ways everyday, be it by audible voice, in visions, in dreams, as the Holy Spirit moves in the quietness of a Christians heart.
lchiddle 2 years ago
The word "me" wasn't added in the 60's. It appears in many old manuscripts of John 14:14.

All JW's honor the Son the same as the Father, but we don't twist it is to worship as you do.
We certainly don't dishonor the son by taking a pagan holiday and call it Jesus birthday. Where is the honor in that?

BlaineKatsura 2 years ago
Thanks "The real Truth 1914", but I don't think anyone really has "a true grasp" of the trinity doctrine... How can we grasp something that doesn't exist? Its like trying to scoop up air with your hands.
I firmly believe that the trinity doctrine is a diabolically clever "teaching of demons", which has effectively relagated Jehovah/Yahweh to a position of relative obscurity... Satan is an evil genius!
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
Correction: Trinitarians believe that the father, the son and the holy ghost are Divine and not God individually. But together they are the Almighty GOD.
I do not take sides. I am only clarifying this to stop accusations that are made without understanding.

I'm glad you corrected that. Thank you.

BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
(Matthew 15:24) 24 In answer he said: I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.. . .
(Matthew 10:40) . . .and he that receives me receives him also that sent me forth.
(Luke 4:18) . . .Jehovahs spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor, he sent me forth to preach a release to the captives. .
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
(Luke 10:16) . . .Moreover, he that disregards me disregards [also] him that sent me forth.
(John 3:17) . . .For God sent forth his Son into the world. . .
(John 3:34) . . .For the one whom God sent forth speaks the sayings of God,. . .
(John 4:34) . . .Jesus said to them: My food is for me to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.
(John 5:30) . . .because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
This one really applies to you trinitarians: (John 5:37-38) . . .Also, the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. YOU have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his figure; 38 and YOU do not have his word remaining in YOU, because the very one whom he dispatched YOU do not believe.
(John 6:44) . . .No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him. . .
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
(John 6:57) . . .Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father. . . (John 7:16) . . .What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me.. . . (John 7:28-29) . . .. Also, I have not come of my own initiative, but he that sent me is real, and YOU do not know him. 29 I know him, because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.. . .
(John 7:33) . . .Therefore Jesus said: I continue a little while longer with YOU before I go to him that sent me.
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
(John 8:29) . . .And he that sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him.. . .
(John 11:42) . . .True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.. . .
(John 12:49) . . .because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. .
BloodySunday1905 2 years ago
Now, look at this one carefully: (John 13:16) . . .Most truly I say to YOU, A slave is not greater than his master, nor is one that is sent forth greater than the one that sent him.
I could go on and on!!!
Which serves to illustrate how ridiculous your position is!!!!!
I could make a 1,000 quick questions to every one of yours!!!!!!

The JW's theology teaches that Jesus is the archangel Michael, unless they have changed something since the last time I read about them... entirely possible.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
Don't you believe that Jesus is Michae;?
If you don't then why would Michael do something (Rev 12, casting out Satan) that was prophesied for Jesus to do (Gen 3:15 in bruising the head of the serpent.)
sklemetti 2 years ago
No, Jesus is not an angel, or a created being. He has existed as God and with God for all eternity. He became flesh and dwelt among us, but the essence of who he is has never begun. Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
If Jesus existed as God for all eternity, then how can he be the son of God?
sklemetti 2 years ago
Well, because there is a fourth element in the "trinity" that being the son. In Hebrews, the Bible says that God "prepared a body" i.e. for Logos or the word to inhabit, and that body is the man we know as Jesus. I think the word trinity just over simplifies a vastly diverse and complex being, i.e. God.
apologeticsman 2 years ago 2
Jesus is both man in nature and God in nature. His God nature is not THE God, but of the God/born of God (not created): the Logos that was spoken from eternity in the beginning.
lchiddle 2 years ago
Whatever, your definition is as good as anyone's since it is a man-made doctrine.
sklemetti 2 years ago
What you have said is meaningless considering this is the very understanding that I have gotten from the Bible itself, not from some Creed or some old man who gets a kick out off flicking "Holy Water" over people.
To be honest the word trinity is very miss leading, even triune doesn't sum up the complexity of God.
Perhaps you could show me how it is apparently "man-made"?

Genesis 3:15 is not referring to the battle in Revelation 12. Gen 3:15 is a prophecy of the sacrifice Jesus made by dying on the cross/stake.
lchiddle 2 years ago
Part of it is. The part of the serpent bruising the seed in the heal is about Jesus dying.
The part about "He will bruise you in the head" is first about Jesus being faithful then resurrected, then about him casting Satan out and then abyssing him.
sklemetti 2 years ago
Hebrews 2:14-15 says - Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
I think you'll find Jesus' death was the complete prophecy from Genesis 3:15.

Quick Question: Since the trinity teaches that Jesus is not the Father, why do you teach that he is the Father or that since the honor that is paid to Jesus likewise goes to the Father, you equate them?
sklemetti 2 years ago

Its amazing how the JW can not and will not submit to the scriptures. They don't even honor Jehovah for they honor the governing body above all. There final authority is not God or the scriptures, there final authority they submit to are men.

They do not tremble before YAHWEH or HIS Word.

How can you say on AR-Talk that is is easy to answer if you say here that you don't see my point?
EvidenceMinistries 2 years ago
Because JWs understand the scriptures about Jesus. But what is your point of taking something that is not even controversial or misunderstood and then making it misunderstood?
Jesus in his obedience and love for Jehovah represents him perfectly, thus honor for Jesus would and should be the same as honor for Jehovah. That is what the text "if you have seen me you have seen the father" is about.
sklemetti 2 years ago
In order to talk about Jesus, you have to know something about him.
I don't see your point. Sure, we are supposed to honor the son just as the father. If we don't, we have to work on that as we have to work on everything, as you have to work on everything.
And if we don't, then we have Jesus to take care of that for us, not our bragging about what we do.
sklemetti 2 years ago
His point is that JW philosophy/doctrine states basically that Jesus is an angel, and not God or part of God. This video is showing us that Jesus is due the same honor as the father, making Him (Jesus) equal to the father. The JW Bible is a sad pathetic joke, and the victims of that joke are the poor souls who let the Watchtower do their thinking for them.
apologeticsman 2 years ago
His point is wrong. Don't you see that these people who bring these dumb questions from ignorant perspectives have wrong points.
JWs do not believe that Jesus basically is an angel. Jesus is the first born of Jehovah God. The Almighty's son, his first creation. Jesus helped make the angels.
Since Jesus is the reflection of Jehovah's glory, a perfect representation of him, honoring him should be as honoring Jehovah.
Not that difficult.
The NWT is not and is never at issue.
sklemetti 2 years ago
According to mormons Jesus is Satans spirit brother. Jesus and Satan were born on "Kolob" and raised by the Father and his wife Emma.

and we should care... why?
sklemetti 2 years ago
"JWs do not believe that Jesus basically is an angel."
This comes from the Watchtower's official website. The article is called "The Truth About Angels" (this quote is under the subheading 'Who Are The Angels?')
"The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is the archangel, Jesus Christ, also called Michael."
fairwhether1 2 years ago
Which is why I stated that JWs do not believe that Jesus basically is an angel.
Michael the archangel is not 'basically an angel'.
He is God's son who is a spirit being who is a messenger between God and man.
sklemetti 2 years ago
You just contradicted yourself. You said he is not an angel, then you said he is the angel Michael... which is it?
apologeticsman 2 years ago
I said that he is not 'basically an angel'. He is Michael the archangel which is more than 'basically'..
sklemetti 2 years ago
Well, as I understand it, JW's also believe He is God's son and a great prophet, so when I said basically, I used the word in it's proper context and with its proper meaning. Common usage of the word is "kind of" or "somewhat" I used it correctly.
